Chapter 126: Chapter 126: The Rise of Hope

Qin Yuhan snorted, swallowing hard. "The noodles... they’re poisoned," she said.

"Even if they were, it wouldn’t matter. You have no idea how delicious these noodles are," Wu Tian said, lifting a single, shimmering strand. "Look at it—it’s translucent. And the soup... it’s filled with a wondrous flavor."

The noodles were indeed translucent. How could ordinary noodles turn out like this? Qin Yuhan had no idea. But just from the scent alone, she knew their taste had to be extraordinary. Wu Tian rarely cooked, but everything he made was captivating. She really didn’t want to miss out on these noodles. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"See? There are even chunks of meat in here," Wu Tian continued to tempt her. "You have no idea that I’ve transformed these ordinary cuts of meat into priceless delicacies." He popped another piece into his mouth and began to chew with relish.

The aroma of the meat was stronger than anything Qin Yuhan had ever smelled. The mere scent made her mouth water uncontrollably. But I have to resist! That bastard tormented me so much four years ago, and he isn’t even trying to pursue me now. He’s just trying to bully me again!

Just then, Wu Tian finished his bowl of noodles and turned his gaze to the second one, preparing to dig in. Qin Yuhan was stunned. That bastard... he isn’t really going to eat that bowl too, is he? Is he not going to leave any for me?

After one bite, however, Wu Tian suddenly stopped. "Nope, I’m full. Time for bed." With that, he got up and went to his room.

Qin Yuhan watched him leave, then waited a little longer to make sure she was alone. Finally, she let her guard down. Bouncing off the sofa like a child, she grabbed the bowl of noodles Wu Tian had taken a bite from. She hesitated. He had already eaten from this bowl, which meant it had his saliva in it. Qin Yuhan was exasperated. After a long moment, her stomach rumbled loudly. She muttered to herself, "Well, he’s my husband anyway. Why be so picky? One day, I’ll be his completely." With that decided, she began to eat with gusto.

From his room, Wu Tian’s Spiritual Sense covered the entire house, allowing him to perceive every little movement. Nothing could escape him. Witnessing the scene, he couldn’t help but smile.

The next day, Wu Tian awoke to find the little one was already up. She was lying on the bed, gazing happily out the window. "Papa, look!" she exclaimed. "Snow, snow!"

Wu Tian looked over and saw that frost had indeed formed outside. It was even hailing. Such a sight was rare in the winters of Yang City.

"Little one, don’t catch a cold," Wu Tian said, pulling the blanket over her.

The little one just giggled.

Meanwhile, after driving his Ferrari all night, Lu Yunsheng arrived back at Wudang Mountain in record time. On the way, he had hit and killed three children. His master had always told him he was a man of the Righteous Path, but his anxious haste to deliver a message had cost human lives. Lu Yunsheng, however, placed no value on the lives of the three children. The rules of the city could restrain common folk, but not the sects of the Jianghu or the Five Surnames and Seven Families.

"Yunsheng, why have you returned so soon?" Lu Yunsheng’s master, Wujizi, and his martial uncle, Wuyunzi, were both puzzled.

Lu Yunsheng had descended the mountain to make his mark on the world. Like a dragon soaring into the sea, he was supposed to be shining brilliantly in the city. Given his current success, why would he return to Wudang now?

"Master, I..." Lu Yunsheng hesitated, clearly embarrassed.

"Yunsheng, what is it? Speak freely. Your martial uncle and I are your family, after all," Wujizi said.

Lu Yunsheng finally nodded. "My trip down the mountain started smoothly. I even made a great name for myself in Yang City; recently, only some man named Wu Tian has a reputation comparable to mine. Since things were going so well professionally, I thought they would in my love life, too. So, I went to find my martial sister, but... but I never expected..."

"She rejected you?" Wuyunzi asked, surprised.

Lu Yunsheng nodded.

Wuyunzi sighed. "In that case, it’s not fated to be. You should just let it go."

But Lu Yunsheng’s face was a mask of unwillingness.

Wujizi shot Wuyunzi a look and shook his head. "Junior brother, you’re mistaken. When a person cannot obtain what they desire, a barrier forms in their heart. If that obstacle isn’t overcome, their progress on the Martial Path will grind to a halt. Therefore, Yunsheng, you *must* win over Guli Weileng. If it proves truly impossible, I, your master, will help you."

Wuyunzi looked at his senior brother in surprise. He’s being irrational when it comes to Lu Yunsheng. Years ago, Wujizi returned from a year of cultivation away from the mountain with an infant in his arms, declaring the child his most promising disciple...

"Master, it’s not that simple." Lu Yunsheng finally explained how Guli Weileng had defeated him. In the past, whenever they fought, she had never been his match. But this time, she was. He concluded that she must have had some kind of fortuitous encounter.

"Truly?" Hearing Lu Yunsheng’s story, Wujizi’s eyes lit up with an excitement he could barely conceal. Clearly, the same possibility had occurred to him.

"Yes, Master. I swear it on my honor," Lu Yunsheng said with conviction.

Wujizi was overjoyed.

"Senior brother, what is it?" Wuyunzi asked, still confused.

"After Patriarch Zhang Sanfeng passed down Tai Chi Chuan, he roamed the world," Wujizi explained, his eyes glinting. "I believe the reason Guli Weileng’s Tai Chi Chuan has become so profound is that she must have obtained an improved version, one that Zhang Sanfeng developed during his travels. Since it belongs to our Wudang, it must be retrieved."

I, Wujizi, didn’t join the Seven Saints of Dragon Country because I have no desire to be a phoenix’s tail. But if I can acquire the more advanced Tai Chi Chuan Secret Scroll that Zhang Sanfeng created during his travels, things will be different. It wouldn’t be impossible for me to become the most powerful man in all of Dragon Country.

"Yunsheng, I will accompany you on this trip," Wujizi declared.

"That is not advisable," Wuyunzi interjected. "Senior brother, the True Lineage disciples are forbidden from leaving the mountain except for the most urgent matters. If you leave and a crisis befalls Wudang, who will handle it? It would be better for me to go in your stead."

Wujizi considered this, then nodded with a smile. "Junior brother, with your abilities, Guli Weileng will be no match for you, even if she resists. Please, make this trip for us."

Wudang is one of the great Jianghu sects. Wujizi is the Sect Leader of the True Lineage, while Wuyunzi is the Sect Leader of the outer sect. Wuyunzi, too, was a practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan.

Without another word, driven by the possibility of recovering Zhang Sanfeng’s improved Tai Chi Chuan Secret Scroll from Guli Weileng, Wuyunzi and Lu Yunsheng descended the mountain. They headed for Yang City immediately, not daring to waste a single moment. It was as if they could already see the dawn of a new era for Wudang.
