Relentless Pursuit After Divorce-Chapter 1945: Summer Hall Side Story (147)
"All right, I wonβt think about it anymore." ππ£πππ ππππ¨π―ππ.ππ¨π
The smile on Evelyn Taylorβs face grew a little more compared to just now, obviously relieved by Helen Melendyβs comforting words. The guilt that had been lingering in her heart was gradually easing.
Just then, Edward Smith appeared in the backyard, walking towards the cafe.
The cafe was designed like a sunroom, surrounded by transparent glass windows. As the mother and daughter looked up, they saw Edward.
"Big brotherβs expression doesnβt look good."
Helen Melendy stared at Edward for a while before concluding.
Evelyn Taylor nodded, "It seems like heβs encountered some kind of problem."
As the mother and daughter were discussing, Edward had already appeared at the door of the cafe, looking at Helen with a complicated expression.
Helen was a bit puzzled by Edwardβs gaze and asked, "Big brother, why are you looking at me like that?"
Edward rubbed his forehead. He had just received a call from Johnson Fefferman about the time she plotted against Elly Campbell. He had been involved, but Johnson was unaware of this.
He knew Johnson liked Adam Jones and even wanted to go after Elly.
Of course, besides her liking Adam, a more important reason was to secure the status of her and her mother in Auston.
An alliance with the Jones Family was naturally the best for her.
He had advised her before, knowing she wouldnβt listen.
He understood Johnsonβs character too well, the kind that wouldnβt give up until hitting a wall.
After advising her once, he stopped trying. When she really acted against Campbell, he secretly helped her, erasing some of the traceable evidence.
He also knew Adam Jones wasnβt an ordinary person. If he really decided to investigate, heβd still trace it back to him.
Later, Adam had gone to Germany to see Johnson. Whatever was said, Johnson eventually stopped.
Edward hadnβt asked Johnson about this, satisfied that she stopped.
He thought the matter had passed quietly, but unexpectedly, today Johnson called him to ask about it.
The sudden call caught him off guard.
Helen watched various complex expressions flash across his face and asked again, "Big brother, do you have something to say to me?"
Edward looked at Helen. If it were someone else, he wouldnβt have let them off easily.
But the girl in front of him was the sister he had painstakingly found, and he couldnβt bear to scold her.
After pondering for a moment, he sighed and asked:
"Sister, do you know what Elly said to Johnson?"
Helen was momentarily stunned, but didnβt feel the slightest guilt. Instead, after a moment of contemplation, she said:
"Oh, did Elly look for Johnson?"
Mentioning Johnson, Evelyn Taylor also straightened up, her eyes full of intense curiosity.
"I told mom a few days ago about you helping Johnson plot against Elly, causing Campbell to lose a lot of money. I asked mom to make you compensate Elly."
Evelyn nodded beside her, "Yes, I promised Elly, you have to compensate."
At this, Evelyn paused and then added, "Son, I have no objections to you pursuing a girl, but be decent. You canβt just target others to pursue a girl, especially since Elly is your sisterβs lifesaver."
Edward looked at his mother and sister, pressing his forehead with a bit of a headache.
These two women in front of him were people he couldnβt easily offend.
