Chapter 1940: Chapter 1940: Summer Hall Side Story (142)

"I...I...I didn’t, Madam Smith, I really didn’t..."

"Oh, then why don’t you answer Second Young Master Smith, why is it that every time our daughter appears, you always make a mistake?"

Evelyn Taylor curled her lips into a mocking smile and looked at her, then shifted her gaze to Thomas Smith.

Thomas originally thought Helen Melendy had schemed against Olivia because of that remark, but now being questioned by his own mother, he unexpectedly didn’t know how to refute.

Finally, he only said dryly,

"Is there even a need to ask? It’s definitely this woman scheming against Olivia."

The faces of Charles Smith, Evelyn Taylor, Edward Smith, and Harry Hall all simultaneously fell dark.

Thomas opened and closed his mouth referring to Helen Melendy as "this woman" and "that woman", with absolutely no attempt to disguise the derogatory tone.

Clearly, he doesn’t consider Helen Melendy, his biological sister, as a sister at all.

Instead, he treasures Olivia, the fake sister.

"Second Young Master Smith." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The speaker was Harry Hall.

When he usually doesn’t speak, he gives off a reserved and aloof aura, but not aggressive.

Yet this moment, just the three words "Second Young Master Smith" made everyone present hear the angry waves hidden deep in his eyes.

Olivia instinctively trembled in her heart upon hearing this, and Thomas’s expression slightly stiffened.

He first apologized to Charles Smith and Evelyn Taylor, then stepped forward to stand in front of Thomas, his sharp, commanding gaze piercing directly into Thomas’s eyes.

Thomas was about the same height as Harry Hall, but he’s obviously lacking the domineering presence and pressure that Harry possesses.

Even though they’re almost the same height, Thomas still felt that being stared at like that by Harry Hall made him feel an inch shorter.

"Since Second Young Master Smith says my wife schemed against someone, then tell us, how did my wife scheme?"

"I..."

Thomas was speaking without thinking.

He subjectively decided Helen Melendy was not a good person, and that his Olivia was the most innocent in the world, so his first reaction was that Helen Melendy schemed against him.

But in terms of specifics, from his plane landing till now, he knows nothing.

Harry Hall, seeing his silent and dark face, continued coldly,

"Does Second Young Master Smith think that just moving your lips and saying whatever you want without needing to take any responsibility is okay?"

As he spoke, his eyes narrowed, a strong sense of danger unabashedly overflowed from his icy blue eyes.

Thomas was genuinely intimidated by Harry Hall’s demeanor and couldn’t utter a word for a moment.

Moments later, his face flushed as he managed to choke out, "If I knew how she schemed against Olivia, Olivia is so smart, how could she be schemed against?"

Upon hearing this, the Smith Family was infuriated and laughed.

They even started to wonder if Thomas might have been switched at birth for being so dim-witted.

Helen Melendy, on the other hand, wasn’t upset throughout; as she mentioned earlier, with people who don’t matter to her, she doesn’t bother to get angry or hold grudges.

She reached out and gently patted her parents on the back, then gave Harry Hall a reassuring look before stepping up to Thomas.

Thomas was filled with hostility towards Helen Melendy, and upon seeing her approach, he glared at her directly.

"Second Brother..."

"Who’s your Second Brother? I’ll never acknowledge you as my sister in this life."

"Alright, Thomas."

Helen Melendy smoothly changed her address, choking Thomas with her decisiveness.
