Relentless Pursuit After Divorce-Chapter 1939: Summer Hall Side Story (141)
He knew that Helen Melendy and her husband were coming to the Smith Family today and they must have already arrived by now.
Before he returned to New Horse, his mother had obviously resumed her past attitude towards Olivia.
But as soon as that woman came today, Olivia was about to be driven out. To say it had nothing to do with that woman, he wouldn’t believe it even if beaten to death.
Olivia Smith saw the raging anger in Thomas Smith’s eyes, her face slowly drooping, and the corners of her mouth curled into a winning smile.
The next second, Thomas had already walked up to her, grabbing her wrist, and was about to pull her inside.
"Second Brother?"
"Is Helen Melendy inside?"
Thomas’s face was as cold as ice as he looked inside, "Has that woman been sowing discord in front of Mom and Dad again?"
"No, Second Brother..."
Olivia stood still, refusing to be pulled away by Thomas. Seeing Charles Smith and his wife along with Edward Smith appearing at the door, she quickly said:
"Second Brother, you go inside, it has nothing to do with Helen. It’s my own fault."
Olivia’s eyes were red. Even though she took all the blame upon herself, her appearance clearly showed a look of being wronged and not daring to complain.
This scene added a little more resentment in Thomas’s heart towards Helen Melendy.
He continued to drag Olivia inside, her strength no match for his, forcefully pulling her along.
She saw the Smith couple’s gaze turning towards her, her face growing more flustered.
She looked extremely afraid of Charles Smith and his wife, clutching Thomas’s arm with both hands, pleading:
"Second Brother, don’t do this, it really has nothing to do with Helen. It’s my fault, all my fault, I spoke wrongly. Please, stop causing trouble, don’t upset Mom and Dad, no, don’t upset Mr. and Madam Smith."
Thomas saw her panic and pleading expression with his own eyes.
He became even more convinced that Olivia was suffering greatly due to that scheming woman, Helen Melendy.
She couldn’t even call them Mom and Dad anymore, instead referring to them as Mr. and Madam Smith.
If this wasn’t Helen Melendy’s requirement, how could mom and dad be so heartless to a child they raised for thirty years?
"Ha! What a coincidence, you never say the wrong thing usually, but when certain people come around, you suddenly start making mistakes."
Thomas’s words carried an implication, his gaze landing on Helen Melendy, who appeared at the door.
Helen seemed utterly oblivious to Thomas’s remarks, not even sparing a glance at him.
Being completely ignored, the rage in Thomas’s heart burned even brighter.
The next moment, he heard Evelyn Taylor speak:
"Yes, why do you always make mistakes when Helen is around? Do you have any dissatisfaction with my own daughter?"
She didn’t address Thomas, but turned her target directly to Olivia.
Olivia’s face suddenly turned white.
She originally thought that Thomas was naïve and easy to manipulate. As long as he was there, with his simple-minded protectiveness, she wouldn’t have to leave.
And since Thomas was already biased against Helen Melendy, if Olivia were to be chased away, he would naturally blame Helen without any need for explanation. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
But she didn’t expect Evelyn Taylor to latch onto Thomas’s question and turn it against her, accusing her of being dissatisfied with Helen Melendy.
Now being a fake rich girl, saying she was dissatisfied with Helen would easily be believed by many.
She originally was a noble lady, but now, due to Helen Melendy’s appearance, her entire life’s wealth and privilege were cut off. Who would be happy about that?
