Synthetic Wizard-Chapter 195 - 137: Hope of Advancing to Wizard
Three days later.
Sunan entered Matu with the Golem Legion, officially taking over the city-state.
It must be said, vampires are an exceptionally powerful race.
They have long lifespans, mysterious methods, formidable combat strength, and excel both in direct battlefield engagements and as scouts or assassins.
Their only weakness is their fear of sunlight and low reproduction rate.
Fortunately, in the underground world, the former can be directly ignored.
It’s the low reproduction rate that limits Matu’s expansion.
In this vast city-state, the total vampire population is less than two hundred, while the affiliated races and slaves number over ten thousand.
It’s only because individual vampires have excellent combat strength, with Knights and Great Knights everywhere, that they manage to suppress so many vassals and slaves.
Thousands of stalactites hang from the cave ceiling, where blue, green, and dark purple Demon Fire burns and rolls, creating a sea of clouds that provides weak illumination to the entirety of Matu.
Sunan stood atop a stone pillar two or three hundred meters high, gazing down at the ground, observing the golems entering the city one after another, and slaves busily transporting various materials, moving back and forth like ants, giving him an illusory feeling of overlooking all of existence.
Currently, the Kasham swarm has been completely eradicated, the vampires of Matu have surrendered, the Corpse Ghost clan of Auson has been wiped out by the Red Widow and her followers, and Ghost Lake City fell into his hands even earlier.
One could say the entire area within a hundred miles is now his domain.
With time, once the fruits of war are fully digested and all city-states truly fall under his control, he would have established a firm foothold in the underground world, having a foundation of his own.
"Auson’s Corpse Ghosts have been completely annihilated, leaving only a group of affiliated races and slaves. A batch of personnel needs to be dispatched to handle affairs."
"Draw batches of human-faced lions and vampires from Ghost Lake City and Matu respectively."
Having subjugated the vampires of Matu, along with the human-faced lions, Sunan’s manpower is now reasonably sufficient.
But this brought along the issue of insufficient troops.
Kasham can be ignored, but Ghost Lake, Matu, and Auson all require stationed forces.
Although the war cost him many golems, the remaining are more than enough to guard Ghost Lake.
A portion can be assigned to Matu, working together with the vampires to guard Matu, which is sufficient.
Only Auson remains with a void in military power, requiring a substantial number of golems to fill the gap.
Moreover, the mines controlled by Auson and Matu together account for six, all necessitating golems for development, as well as guarding and escorting the minerals.
All of these require manpower.
Including Clay Golems, there’s roughly a shortage of a thousand golems.
"Leave the refining of golems to the base."
Now, a growing number of apprentices have mastered Puppet Refining at the base, so Sunan no longer needs to painstakingly refine Stone Golems himself.
If needed, he can obtain a large number of Stone Golems quickly by increasing task rewards.
This war was facilitated by this reason, allowing the Golem Legion to double in size within just over a month.
Of course, Steel Golems and Dual-bladed Spiders still need his personal crafting.
"Next, focus on research into bloodline imprints and divinity energy."
Sunan looked towards the direction of Ghost Lake City.
The Bell Striker has been imprisoned in Base 2, guarded by three high-level Stone Golems and three elite Double-Bladed Puppets, along with the presence of Hidden Dragon to ensure no escape.
For a long period ahead, his priority will be on this ancient bloodline insect.
...
Late at night, clouds obscured the silver moon, making the night sky dim and lightless.
Saulo walked on a secluded forest path, surrounded by darkness. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
After some time, he stopped and extended his palm, where a sphere of light slowly emerged, with gentle rays extending in all directions, casting long shadows of dense cedar trunks on the forest floor, while the areas unlit by the light felt even deeper and darker.
"Come out." Saulo spoke in a deep voice.
Two silhouettes emerged from the darkness, exposed under the light.
The figure on the left was so bloated it was unrecognizable as human, seeming to have stuffed something under the gray-robed garment that was about to burst open, emitting eerie sounds from within, as if some creature was chewing on something.
The figure on the right was only waist-high to an adult human, resembling a dwarf, with a wide, long black robe dragging on the ground, completely hiding his form, and his face was hidden in the brim of the hat, showing only darkness.
"You called us here so urgently, what’s happened?"
The small black-robed figure slowly spoke, his voice sharp like a child going through voice change.
"Ugo is dead." Saulo said.
The two figures, tall and short, remained silent for a moment, then the black-robed figure asked:
"Who did it?"
"Sunan."
"Who’s Sunan?" The bloated gray-robed figure spoke in a muffled voice.
The black-robed figure scoffed: "You’ve been cooped up in the lab for how long, not knowing Sunan?"
The gray-robed figure glanced at the black-robed figure without speaking.
Saulo then explained: "Sunan is a newly advanced Level 3 Wizard Apprentice from the Starry Duchy, but he’s very powerful, and is now a member of the Woodland Cabin."
"How did Ugo end up involved with Sunan?" the black-robed figure asked.
"He tried to seize the Divine Remains of the Starfire Sect from Sunan, attacking Sunan’s territory in the underground world, but lacked skill and ultimately died at Sunan’s hands."
