Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 388 - 386: Damn, He Tricked Me
"Seriously. It’s such bad luck to run into people like this in a game."
"This ruins the whole experience."
"Daji, why aren’t you talking? Say something!"
"Please turn on your microphone to communicate."
Since Si Wen remained silent, one of her teammates angrily demanded she turn on her mic, while Marco Polo was already cursing up a storm. Si Wen ignored them, continuing to follow the jungler and steal his jungle monsters. Sometimes, just as he had nearly finished off a monster, she would unleash her ultimate and snatch the last hit. After each theft, she would sneak a peek at Xue Yang’s reaction, expecting him to get angry. But he didn’t react at all, which only made Si Wen more furious.
"Why aren’t you getting angry?" she blurted out.
Just as the words left her mouth, Xue Yang scored another kill. Si Wen was stunned.
"Keep stealing," he said coolly. "If you get distracted, my gold lead will just get bigger."
What is with this guy?
What Si Wen didn’t realize was that her microphone was on, and her teammates had heard every word. Her voice was cute and high-pitched, instantly making them picture a beautiful young woman.
"Oh, so it’s a girl! And her voice is so sweet."
"It’s normal for girls to be less skilled at games. Don’t worry, miss, I’ll carry you."
Marco Polo’s attitude did a complete 180-degree turn as he immediately started showing off. When Si Wen didn’t respond, he boasted, "Hey miss, if I get a pentakill, you have to duo queue with me next game, okay?"
Spotting an opportunity, Marco Polo used his ultimate and dashed into the middle of all five opponents. Instantly, their health bars dropped by more than half. A few more seconds and the pentakill would have been his. But in that exact moment, Xue Yang executed a flawless play, snatching the pentakill that should have belonged to the marksman.
Furious, Marco Polo raged, "Han Xin, you already have Yao supporting you! Why are you trying to steal Daji from me? What’s your problem?"
While Marco Polo was ranting, Xue Yang took down the Tempest Dragon King. His gold count skyrocketed, making Si Wen’s attempts to leech off him completely pointless. Just then, the entire enemy team revived.
Xue Yang charged forward with Lin Xi.
"Xiao Xi, get the kills."
"Huh?"
"Go! Get them!"
Lin Xi frantically mashed her first and second skills.
Double Kill... Triple Kill... Quadra Kill... Pentakill!
Even Yao, the support, got a pentakill, while Marco Polo, the marksman, hadn’t managed a single kill. He was utterly humiliated.
"Han Xin, you did that on purpose!" Marco Polo seethed, grinding his teeth in fury.
Xue Yang replied calmly, "If you’re bad, practice more."
Marco Polo was left completely speechless. Honestly, they would have lost the match long ago if not for their jungler. Despite having his jungle camps stolen by Daji in the early game, he had still managed to secure the MVP, orchestrate two pentakills, and carry them to victory. The difference in skill was obvious.
While everyone was still processing the shock, Xue Yang and Lin Xi destroyed the enemy’s crystal, winning the game.
Fuming, Marco Polo tried to invite them to his party, but they had already started a new match. He had no choice but to check Xue Yang’s profile. He saw a match history filled almost entirely with victories. The few losses on record were so ridiculously bad that it was obvious someone else had been playing on his account. This guy’s skills were on par with a professional player.
Marco Polo then opened Lin Xi’s profile, which was much simpler: every single game was a duo queue with Xue Yang. It was clear that the losses on Xue Yang’s account happened when someone else was playing it.
He backed out and clicked on Si Wen’s profile. A massive VIP icon dominated the screen.
This person... why does she seem so familiar?
He quickly exited the game, pulled up Si Wen’s Weibo account, and clicked on her linked game info. His eyes widened. "She’s the number one ’whale’ in all of King’s Game!"
He knew she was the top whale because a gaming YouTuber had recently made a ranking video. Si Wen’s account was at the top, in a league of its own. No one, not even the most famous streamers, dared to challenge her financial standing. You’d need incredibly deep pockets to even try. Marco Polo could have kicked himself.
If I send her a friend request, she’ll probably accept, right? What if she does?
Hoping for the best, Marco Polo sent the request and began to wait anxiously. In the time it took him to do that, Xue Yang’s team had already won another game.
When Si Wen saw the friend request, she instantly rejected it and changed her settings to block all incoming requests.
"As if it’s that easy to add me," she scoffed. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"What is it?" Lin Xi asked.
"It was that Marco Polo from the last game," Si Wen replied. "He sent me a friend request, so I rejected him."
"Oh."
Si Wen then turned to Xue Yang. "Your skills are amazing. Why don’t you play professionally?"
"It wouldn’t be fair to the other players if I competed," he stated simply.
Damn, what a flex.
Meanwhile, Marco Polo was lost in a fantasy where Si Wen accepted his request. They would duo queue, he’d get a few gifted skins, and eventually, they’d meet in person and he would win her heart. But the fantasy was sweet, and reality was cruel. The moment the rejection notification popped up, his expression soured.
Unwilling to give up, Marco Polo tried to add her again, this time with a message: "Hello, I was the marksman from the last game. I apologize for what I said earlier. Can you please accept my request?"
He hit send, only to be met with a system notification: The user is not accepting friend requests.
"Damn it!" he roared, smashing his phone in a fit of rage.
But what good would that do? Even if he hadn’t been rude to her, Si Wen wouldn’t have randomly added a stranger. She received countless requests every day, many from weirdos begging her to be their sugar mommy or gift them skins. Si Wen might be rich, but she wasn’t stupid. She would never pay any attention to people like that.
In the time it took for that little drama to unfold, Xue Yang’s team had already won another match. With him carrying, each game was a swift victory, lasting only about ten to fifteen minutes. They had already won five games in a row.
Xue Yang disbanded the party.
Si Wen was still eager for more. "Are we done already?" Playing with Xue Yang was a blast; she could just coast to an easy win every time.
Xue Yang put down his phone. "Five games is enough. You guys can keep playing. I have some work to do."
"I’m done, too," Lin Xi added. "I still have to write."
"Hey, it’s the weekend," Si Wen protested. "Why are you all still working? Is this a death wish?"
Lin Xi replied, "Don’t you know? Authors don’t get days off."
"And I get even fewer," Xue Yang added. As the boss of a gaming company, it was a miracle he wasn’t living at the office.
Seeing everyone else so busy, Si Wen felt out of place. "Well, I’m very busy, too!" she declared.
