Chapter 87: #87-Philleo’s Torture, Penelope’s Weakening

Today was Penelope’s second day of being held captive in the mansion surrounded only by the sea.

Philleo Aaron had not given Penelope food for two days. The man only gave the Duchess a drink. Of course, humans can still live even if they only drink water but in Penelope’s case, she needs food for the child she is carrying. And now, Penelope felt her stomach hurt so much. The woman winced in pain while holding her stomach and started to have difficulty breathing. Cold sweat was running down her beautiful face which was starting to turn pale. Penelope also started crying.

"Calm down, Penelope Askary," the woman muttered to herself. "You’ll be fine. You’re a strong woman. You can hold on until Edmund Gerwyn comes to save you. If you can survive, if you stay strong, then your child will be safe." Penelope rubbed her stomach. Penelope even bit her lip because she couldn’t stand the pain in her stomach.

When the door to the room opened from the outside, Penelope had no intention of looking at Philleo. What for? The man still would never give her food even though she had begged. He intended to kill Edmund’s child in her womb.

"Why are you crying, Honey?" asked Phileo. His tone showed that the man didn’t feel guilty at all. He sat beside Penelope, who was lying down, and stroked her hair affectionately. Because Penelope’s hands were still handcuffed with magic, the woman couldn’t shake Philleo’s hands even though she felt disgusted at the man. "Oh, are you hungry? I’m really sorry, my Penelope. This is for the good of you and me. That child will be the destroyer of our relationship and I will not let that happen. Hold on until tomorrow or two more days. I’m sure that child will give up and choose to die rather than trouble you. If the child is dead, I will immediately give all the good food in this empire to you, Honey."

Penelope closed her eyes and didn’t have the strength to reply to Philleo’s words.

"Ed..." the woman muttered in a hopeful tone. "I miss you."

Even though Penelope spoke in a very low tone, Philleo could still hear her. The man was getting angry. He grabbed Penelope’s hair so hard, making her head look up. Penelope screamed and cried even more. Then, Philleo’s left hand gripped Penelope’s chin. He brought his face closer to Penelope’s and licked her tears away.

"What did you say just now, Honey?" asked Phileo. His purple eyes were sharp and merciless. He looks like a crazy psychopath, who is totally obsessed with Penelope. There was no longer the kind and gentle Philleo Aaron. In Penelope’s eyes, Philleo had turned into a monster. "You missed that bastard Duke? I am here by your side, and you dare to miss another man?" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Philleo’s right hand gripped Penelope’s hair even more tightly, making the woman scream in pain even more. She shot Philleo with a look full of hatred.

"I miss my own husband and it’s only natural, Philleo Aaron!" Penelope growled. "I will never leave my husband. In my heart, my love is only for Edmund Gerwyn. You might have managed to lock me up. But, all you got was my body and not my love!"

Phileo was getting angrier. The man now released his grip on Penelope’s chin and began to strangle the woman’s white neck. Penelope was wide-eyed. She tried as hard as possible to keep breathing. Her two legs which were handcuffed by magic struggled violently. Tears were rolling down her pretty face and her eyes were starting to look red.

"You must obey me, Honey. I will make you open your eyes wide so you will realize that in this world, the only man who truly loves you is me. The man who deserves you is only me." Philleo smirked and immediately kissed Penelope on the lips.

Startled, Penelope tried to get away from Philleo, who was kissing her on the lips. It was quite difficult because her legs were handcuffed, as well as her feet, and the man was on top of her. However, Penelope did not give up. She opened her mouth and immediately bit Philleo’s lips so hard that the man’s lips bled. Philleo growled and pulled away from Penelope, who was trying to catch her breath. Then, Penelope spits Philleo’s face, following a scene in a movie she saw while she was living as Sienna. Philleo, who didn’t expect Penelope to do that, froze. His purple eyes flashed sharply and the man immediately slapped Penelope.

"Since when have you turned into a woman like this, Penelope Askary?! You are a gentle and kind woman! As expected, Edmund Gerwyn has turned you into this rude woman. I won’t let that bastard live! I will teach him a lesson and kill him. I will send him to hell along with his child!"

Penelope was crying even more and her body was trembling with fear. As much as she tried to act brave in Philleo’s presence, she couldn’t do it anymore. The man had lost his mind. Penelope kept calling out to Edmund in her heart, hoping that the man would come soon to take her away from this terrible place.

Suddenly, Philleo flinched. The man blinked and immediately wiped the tears off Penelope’s face. His purple eyes looked sad and regretful. Then, Philleo helped Penelope get up from her lying position and immediately hugged her tightly. The man stroked Penelope’s blue hair which he loved so much and reminded him of the color of the ocean.

"Sst... My Beloved Penelope, why are you crying? It’s okay, I’m here. I will always accompany you and protect you. My love is very big for you and will never fade until the day I die. Of course, the two of us will live together forever and will die together too. I love you. Calm down, Honey. Go to sleep. I will be by your side."

Penelope is just silent. She had no strength left to fight back. Her body was very weak and her stomach was getting hurt even more.

"Ed..." Penelope muttered through a sob. "Come quickly. Please. Save me and our children."

"How many seas are there in the West region?"

Edmund’s impatient question was answered in a doubtful tone by Edgar.

"There are more or less about ten seas in ten different cities in the West, Your Grace."

"And, this sea?"

"This is the fifth sea, Your Grace," answered Edgar. "There are still five more seas to inspect."

Edmund took a deep breath and rubbed his face with both hands. The man couldn’t calm down at all. His mind was set on the safety of Penelope and their child. His heart never stopped pounding hard. He turned his head when he felt a strong squeeze on his shoulder from behind and Ethan Askary looked at him firmly.

"You haven’t eaten in two days, Duke," Ethan said. "Have you forgotten that you fainted when we arrived at the Abelavish empire two days ago?"

"I can’t eat when I don’t know how my wife and child are, Ethan Askary!" shouted Edmund in frustration.

"Duke, I understand how you feel! I’m also really worried about my little sister. Before she became your wife, she was my little sister. My anxious feelings will definitely not lose to you. However, if you continue like this, not wanting to eat, not wanting to rest, you will get sick and pass out again. Then, you won’t be able to search and find Penny. Is that what you want, Duke? After all, your shadow knights named Chris and Jellal, as well as Crown Prince Helios and Jeremy, are searching for Penny in the remaining seas via the air route."

"But—"

"Edmund Gerwyn," Ethan growled. He no longer addressed Edmund by his title. His eyes were firm and sharp. "I stand here today as your brother-in-law, not as Ethan Askary. So, listen to my orders or I will ask Penny to divorce you when she is found later! Now, eat and sleep even if only for a little while."

Edgar was amazed at Ethan Askary’s courage and how Edmund obeyed the man’s orders. Even though he had to, Edgar knew that Edmund also did not want to oppose and dispute his brother-in-law’s orders. Edmund sat leaning against one of the trees and eating the food they had brought from the Abelavish imperial palace. The man turned his head when he saw a golden circle appear not far from him and from the circle, Helios and Jeremy appeared. Edmund immediately stood up and left his food.

"How is it, Your Highness?" asked Edmund hopefully.

Helios sighed and shook his head. "I’m sorry, Duke. I’ve checked the two seas but there’s no mansion there. I did ask the people in the area but they didn’t see Penelope and Philleo."

Edmund looked down and clenched his jaw. His hands clenched tightly at his sides. What should he do now? What if he was too late to save Penelope and their children?

Suddenly, Chris and Jellal appeared. The two immediately knelt before Edmund and looked up so they could meet their master’s face.

"Your Grace, we found a mansion surrounded only by the ocean!" Chris reported.

Hearing that, Edmund widened his eyes. He immediately gripped Chris’s arms and pulled the man to his feet. Not only Edmund was excited and surprised by the information from Chris, but also Ethan and Helios. They stood on either side of Edmund and stared at Chris.

"Where is it?!" asked Edmund in a stern tone. "Where did you find the mansion?!"

"The place is approximately six kilometers from here, Your Grace," replied Jellal. "The mansion is in a very remote part. There was no way out for the Duchess to escape. The mansion was actually built in the middle of the ocean and there were no other buildings around. I’m sure that’s why the Duchess can’t call for help and can’t run away from Philleo Aaron."

Edmund growled and released Chris. He looked at the people he had invited to find Penelope and save her.

"Get ready," said Edmund in a sharp tone. "Because soon, we will enter the enemy’s lair. Remember, none of you are allowed to kill Philleo Aaron. He is mine. I will torment him and kill him with my own two hands."
