Reincarnation of The Villainess: She Has The Duke's Baby!-Chapter 146: #-I’m Getting Married, Father!
Even though many buildings were damaged and destroyed, not a single person was killed due to attacks from these monsters.
Edmund Gerwyn and his knights managed to defeat the monsters, and a lot of blood flooded the streets. The Gerwyn family knights helped the people in the square to clean up the blood and also dispose of the dead monsters. Helios Rune Abelavish was resting at the corner of the street along with Claude Sylvester to restore his drained mana, while Lucia, the representative of the temple, was helping Penelope to heal the wounds of the victims.
"Penny!"
The shout made Penelope and Edmund turn their heads around. The Duchess smiled broadly and ran toward Ethan Askary. He immediately hugged Ethan, making Ethan sigh in relief, and kissed her forehead. Ethan came along with Jeremy and he asked Isabella to stay in the Abelavish imperial palace.
"Penny, are you okay?" asked Ethan in a worried tone. "You’re not hurt, are you?"
Penelope nodded. "I’m okay, Brother."
"I heard you disappeared."
"Err... I was. But, I was saved by them," Penelope pointed at Raven and Ocean. Raven raised his right hand in greeting while Ocean waved her hand while smiling cheerfully.
"Ah, thank you for saving my little sister. Whatever you want, don’t hesitate to tell me. I will definitely give you whatever you want."
"Hey, won’t Uncle still be the same in the future?" chuckled Ocean. She looked at her twin brother and pointed at Ethan, who was frowning. "He always does what we want."
Hearing that, Edmund clicked his tongue and crossed his arms. "Is that the reason why you guys are acting so spoiled like this? Because Ethan always obeys your wishes?"
"What do you mean, Duke?" asked Ethan, not understanding. "I don’t know them. I—" Ethan stopped talking and tilted his head when he looked more focused at the faces of the two people who saved Penelope. "Hm? Wait a minute. Your eyes... Why are your eyes so similar to Raven and Ocean?"
"That’s because we are Raven and Ocean," Raven answered in a flat tone. "What’s different is, we come from the future. With magic powers growing in the future, we can travel through time. We can go to the past as we wish."
"Hey," Ethan, who was still confused by the information he had just gotten, decided not to think too much about it and asked a question that suddenly popped into his head. "Why did you grow up to be an annoying man like your Father, Raven?"
"Just ask Father. Because he’s the one who made me, didn’t he? Maybe, he passed on too much of his annoying nature to me," replied Raven, grinning at Edmund who snorted.
"We will discuss this matter at the mansion," said Edmund in a firm tone. The man looked at Helios and Claude. "Your Highness, Claude Sylvester, let us return to the mansion."
"Then," Ocean pulled Ethan, Penelope, and Edmund’s hands. "We will leave first!"
Raven Gerwyn took a deep breath and snapped his fingers. A magic circle appeared below them and the next second, they all disappeared from the place.
"Hey," Helios called in a tired tone toward Claude. "Wasn’t the mana released by those mysterious black-robed people just now enormous? I’ve never felt that much mana."
"I’ve felt it before," said Claude. The man looked at Helios with a doubtful look.
"Yes? Where? Whose mana?" Helios asked.
"The mana belongs to..." Claude swallowed hard and massaged the bridge of his nose. "Prince Raven and Princess Ocean."
###
Per Ethan Askary’s request, Raven went to the Abelavish imperial palace to retrieve Isabella Lysander.
Everyone is now gathered at Gerwyn’s mansion. Duke and Duchess Askary had returned to Askary’s mansion when they received information about the appearance of monsters in the square. The Duke and Duchess of Askary were very worried about their daughter when she suddenly disappeared but they believed that Edmund Gerwyn would save and protect Penelope. Duke and Duchess Askary will focus on providing assistance in the form of food and medicine to the victims in the square.
"Why is the atmosphere in this room so scary?" Raven asked as he came back together with Isabella Lysander. The woman immediately hugged Penelope and sat beside Ethan. Raven raised an eyebrow and stood behind the sofa occupied by his twin sister. "Ocean? What is the matter?"
Ocean, who was pouting while crossing her arms, snorted and looked at Raven. Everyone in this room already knew that the two mysterious people in black robes were Raven Gerwyn and Ocean Gerwyn from the future.
"Father is interrogating me again, Brother!" Ocean whined. "He’s still trying to figure out who is the man I’m close to in the future and who’s going to marry me."
"Heh." Raven chuckled and grinned at Edmund. "What would you do if you knew that man’s identity?"
"I will prevent him from approaching Ocean in the present. That way, Ocean and that man’s relationship will end in the future!"
Penelope shook her head and massaged her temples. She really doesn’t understand her husband’s behavior. Meanwhile, Helios chuckled at Edmund’s behavior.
"Duke, are you serious about what you said?"
Edmund looked at Helios. "Is there something wrong with what I just said?"
"You indirectly said that you forbade Princess Ocean from getting married."
"That’s what I’m doing right now. I can look after my daughter until she grows old and becomes a grandmother. I have a lot of money. She will never live in poverty if she is with me. Is there anything better than that?"
"I’m getting married, Father!" Ocean exclaimed. "Father has agreed to the man who will be my husband!"
"I never agreed with any of the men you brought in, Ocean."
"That’s because I’m still a baby!"
"That’s—" Edmund cleared his throat and looked at Penelope who raised an eyebrow. His wife was very upset, Edmund could see it. Even though Penelope was annoyed with him, Edmund as a Father would not let his daughter, who was as precious as a diamond, marry an unworthy man! "Even if you grow up, I still won’t let you get close to any man, Ocean Gerwyn. And you, Raven Gerwyn!"
Raven raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. Seeing his son’s face, Edmund felt like pulling Raven’s hair because the expression on his face and the look in his eyes was so annoying. Does he ever act like Raven? Does not seem so.
"Why don’t you protect your little sister? Why do you let Ocean get close to the men out there?" grumbled Edmund.
"Ocean has grown up, Father. I couldn’t possibly stop Ocean from being close to a man. She must marry and have children to continue the generations of the Gerwyn and Askary families."
"I—"
"Edmund Gerwyn," called Penelope in a firm tone. The Duke turned his head and Penelope gave him a sharp look. "Shut up or I won’t sleep with you anymore!"
Edmund scowled. The Duke’s sullen face is very similar to Ocean’s sullen face. When there was a knock on the door from outside and someone peeked into the room, Ocean immediately widened her eyes. The woman stood up from the sofa and covered her mouth with both hands. Her unique eyes sparkled like a child whose parents had just bought a toy.
"Ocean?" Edmund frowned. "What’s wrong with you?"
"Here we go," chuckled Raven.
"Sorry if I disturbed your conversation, Duke," said Edgar in a polite tone. "But, there are reports coming in about monsters suddenly appearing in the square. The Emperor also asked you to conduct an investigation in person, Duke. I—"
"SIR EDGAR!" Ocean screamed. The woman ran toward Edgar and immediately hugged him tightly. She looked up, looking at the knight’s handsome face with a pleased look. "Oh my God, I didn’t think I could see you when you were young! Even though you are still very handsome when you are old, I liked you much better when you were young, Sir!"
"Err... you—"
"She’s Ocean, Sir Edgar," chuckled Penelope. "She comes from the future. And that one is Raven."
Raven nodded and raised one hand to greet Edgar.
"Princess Ocean and Prince Raven?!" Edgar exclaimed. "Oh, Lord! I’m glad you grew up to be a very handsome and very beautiful Prince and Princess. Will I be very old in the future?"
"Mm!" Ocean nodded. She smiled sweetly. "And you are the most handsome knight in the Duchy, Sir Edgar. I really like you!"
"Hey!" Edmund stood up from the sofa and walked quickly toward Edgar. The Duke also took out his sword and pointed it at Edgar. "I told you not to seduce and monopolize my daughter, Edgar!"
"Duke! Calm down! I do not do anything! I do not know anything!" Edgar exclaimed in panic.
"I’ll cut your head off, Edgar! How dare you touch my daughter with those hands of yours!"
Edgar immediately apologized to Ocean and fled the room before his head fell from his body and rolled on the floor. Seeing that, Penelope took a deep breath and massaged the bridge of her nose. Confused about how to deal with Edmund Gerwyn’s attitude.
"Mother, instead of having a headache thinking about Father’s absurd behavior, what if I make you your favorite cake?" Raven asked with a gentle smile.
Penelope tilted her head and smiled back.
"Can you make cakes, Darling?"
Raven grinned. "I am called the youngest swordmaster and a chef who is very good at making cakes."
