Chapter 535: Chapter 535: Ruthless, Vassal Fusion

"...Or, don’t you want to become immortal?" Kael asked with a devilish smile on his face.

Memphis looked at Kael, but didn’t say a single word. She just stared at him, her thoughts were a mystery.

Kael chuckled, "Don’t be surprised, Memphis. King Exalon told me about your desire to achieve immortality.

Then again, it’s not something that should be hidden if you wanted my help at some point.

Forgive Exalon, he simply acts according to his loyalty."

Kael didn’t wait for Memphis to structure any response, he turned his attention to Katari.

"Katari, you’ll..."

"Wait!" Memphis shouted for the first time since she met Kael. Actually, it was the first time she had shouted after thousands of years.

Kael didn’t look at her, a deep dark gold glow shrouded his eyes. A look of irritation covered his face and Exalon noticed this.

Katari also noticed it and her expression became much colder with killing intent oozing from her eyes.

"What is it, Memphis? Do you wish to stand in my way now?

I thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. But the universe will be conquered one step at a time.

One step at a time.

And if you stand in my way, I will definitely step on you," Kael declared.

"Is this necessary?" Memphis asked, calming down. At the end of the day, she was a pure-breed lioness, she naturally didn’t like it if anyone challenged her authority pointlessly.

She was no pushover.

Kael nodded solemnly, "Yes, it is.

Leonine is our last line of defense against the backlash of the universe, it is our safe space, our stronghold.

Why should we constantly let it be tainted? Before, we were ignorant, but not anymore.

There is no excuse to continuously push our race to a state of disadvantage.

Leonine is meant for lions and lions only.

These foreigners taint heaven not intentionally, but with the residual laws of their races.

These rats shouldn’t even be able to survive here if not for you. Heaven itself rejects them, but you harbour them.

It’s not fair to everyone else, Memphis, they have to go."

Kael did not say everything that was on his mind. The fake Silax had left a lot of implications behind the tainting of heaven with these foreigners.

At least, now, Kael could feel it clearly now that he was beginning to embody the Law of Conquering.

The more heaven was saturated by the law of Conquering, the more powerful he could get. Heaven itself was a storehouse of power and Kael intended to open it.

These foreigners were in his way.

Memphis looked down at all the rats that had come because she called them, unaware that she was presenting them to their doom.

They were numerous, more than a hundred thousand of them to be precise.

Among them were the young and elderly.

"They can be deported," Memphis said.

"Who would be so kind as to waste their heavenly beacon to transport all of them?" Kael asked.

It was like he had not considered that option, but even he didn’t feel it was right to inconvenience one of his supporting lion kings to open their heavenly gate.

The heavenly gate had a one-year cool-down and required tweaks from space lions to change coordinates.

Many of these lion kings already had plans for themselves, they also planned to use their gate openings to collect tributes from their lion lords down in the mortal universe.

Asking them to use their heavenly beacons to deport these rats would be rather inconsiderate, not that Kael would care.

Just then, Exalon’s eyes lit up.

"All-King, the vassal fusion," He said telepathically.

"I was thinking the same thing," Kael said honestly.

His finger, which had been raised slightly for an attack, came down.

The rats down there didn’t know that they had just narrowly avoided annihilation for now.

Kael waved his hand.

Thousands of golden screens appeared in front of the rats present.

These golden screens did not carry referral messages. Rather, they carried acceptance of being added to the Vassal Records.

"What are those?" Memphis asked. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"A second chance," Kael answered.

The rats, humanoid or true forms, could read the contents on the screens very well.

They will be acknowledged as Vassals under the sovereignty of the lion race and would be registered under Memphis, should Memphis decide to join.

Kael snapped his fingers and another golden screen appeared in front of Memphis.

It was a referral message.

"Let’s make it official," Kael said to Memphis.

"If the day comes when I begin to elevate lions to the immortal tier, I will only start with those who have been with me, not outsiders who stood on the sidelines.

Make your choice, Memphis," Kael said.

He was using Memphis to give these rats a second chance while getting rid of them in the process. At the same time, he was also testing out the features of Vassal Fusion.

Some rats had already tried to accept the vassal record request but it didn’t work.

It would only work if Memphis accepted her own referral message to join the lion system.

Kael systematically put Memphis in the position of god over these rats’ lives. Her decision would determine Kael’s next action concerning them.

Katari, watching all this coldly, folded her arms.

"Mentor?" Ozia muttered. If Memphis rejected, he would not be on her side.

Memphis didn’t think much though. Perhaps she had made her decision some time ago but didn’t expect that it would come to this.

"I accept," She said.

Kael wore a satisfied smile.

As soon as Memphis accepted the request, her mind and being were exposed to the new world of the lion system.

She froze, her eyes flashing with a faint golden hue as her mind was inevitably invaded by the latent Conqueror’s Intent.

The rats were then allowed to interact with the golden screens in front of them.

Many of them tapped the screens, watching as it dissolved into countless golden moats. Their identity marks were added to the Vassal Records.

Kael took in a deep breath, another conquest, he rejoiced internally. From now on, every entity he brought into his fold would bring him unspeakable joy.

This was who he was, the conqueror, by force or by law.

His consciousness delved deep into the workings of the system, watching the new Vassal fusion feature update itself.

A new universal Vassal Record was added to the lion system. This record had a list of all the non-lion subordinates under Kael and his clan members.

It also showed which lions or lionesses they were registered under.

Kael’s expression took another turn for the uncounted time again. This time, it became stiff, calm, and stoic.

He looked at the update list in the Vassal Records and saw that only about ninety thousand rats had accepted the requests.

"Hmm," Kael’s mind worked fast, and golden runes appeared in his eyes.

He didn’t need to look to identify them, he could already sense those who had their identity marks and those who didn’t.

"Some hesitated," Exalon said.

Katari also noticed this and was about to make a move.

However, Kael was faster.

*SNAP!*

Kael snapped his fingers.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!...*

The bodies of thousands of rats began to explode all at once. Even those tier 4 rats had their bodies blown into red bits like smashed watermelon.

It was so brutal and gory, a chunk of the rats who didn’t accept the request were youngsters and elders who didn’t act fast enough.

Another chunk were those who hesitated, not understanding the gravity of the situation.

Kael showed no mercy to all of them. His tolerance for weaklings and potential threats had gone so low since he left the time bubble.

His decision was swift. Those who hesitated to follow his lead today would hesitate to obey him tomorrow.

Eliminate.

Those who were too weak and stupid to help themselves would only drag everyone behind in the future.

Eliminate.

The explosion of almost ten thousand rats at once caught everyone off guard. They did not expect Kael to act so fast.

Not even five seconds had passed since Memphis accepted the request and Kale had already begun an execution.

Or was Kael simply looking for an excuse to eliminate these foreigners?

Did he even need an excuse?

The rags were bathed in the blood of their kinsmen. It took a few more seconds for the weight of the loss to settle in.

They cried, shouting at the sky with their bucket teeth pointed at their lion tyrants.

But Kael didn’t care. This was just a means to an end. He didn’t even see the rats as creatures worth wasting time on.

In his eyes, their rights to live or die belonged to the lions.

No, to Kael, at the moment, the rights of every creature in the universe to live or die belonged to the lions.

There was no need for remorse when taking out the trash, no matter how sympathetic they looked.

The strange thing was that Kael didn’t even show any killing intent. It was as if he didn’t consider what he did as killing at all.

"Exalon, we shall resume work," Kael said as he began to fly away.

One of the arkships that had Ben scouting above had landed at the edge of the floating continent not long ago and was waiting for them.

Exalon nodded and flew after the All-King. Katari followed.

Ozia was left behind, he and Memphis would join them at the front later, Kael would make sure of it.

"Find a way to get them out of heaven, Memphis. It must be done," Kael left behind those words before dashing off.

"Hmm," Memphis nodded at Kael absent-mindedly while she kept her attention on the many fascinating features of the lion system she had just joined.

Ozia looked down at the blood and gore as well as the thousands of rat people. He wasn’t disturbed by the brutal sight, but was disturbed by the cause.

"Father really changed," He muttered.

Kael had indeed become much more ruthless to the point that he didn’t even show killing intent when he clearly wanted to kill.

It was terrifying.

He wondered what this meant for everyone else who was soon going to interact with Kael.
