Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Time Machine

"Father, where are we going?" Ozia asked.

He stood by the window of the vessel he was currently in, watching the multicoloured void as well as the countless floating celestial bodies pass by in a flash.

"You’ll see," Kael responded telepathically from the other side of the vessel.

"So how does it work?" Kael asked the person in front of him.

He was in a different section of the moving shuttle, if it could even be called that. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Standing with him were Exalon and Katari on his left and right respectively.

And in front of him, sitting on the control panel with her fingers gripping the edge by her side was Memphis.

"I’ll initiate the baptism myself, but the universe will take over from there.

How long you can last is dependent entirely on your capabilities. Do you understand?" Memphis said.

"I don’t even understand what I’m about to face, only that it could help me get stronger.

Also, you’re aware that I don’t trust you right?" Kael said as he folded his arms.

This section of the shuttle had no place to sit down so all of them were standing, even Memphis had to rest half of her butt on the panel edges.

From Kael’s understanding, the way this machine they were flying in was designed, the makers probably wanted those who would use it to be alert and ready at all times.

There was no point in relaxation in this type of vessel.

"I’m very much aware, Kael," Memphis nodded and replied with a thin smile that wasn’t really a smile.

"If anything happens to us, there will be consequences that will haunt you even after our deaths," Kael said, unafraid.

Memphis nodded again, "I’m aware of that too."

Then Kael looked around.

"Is this a magic shuttle? It doesn’t really look like one. I’ve never seen this model or design before..." Kael trailed off.

His senses were telling him that there was something he wasn’t feeling that he was supposed to feel in this shuttle. It was as if he could see, but was partially blind, so he could not see as clearly as he wanted.

His golden eyes locked on every distinct shape in this section of the vessel and he made sure to memorize them.

His senses could not pierce through the black metal walls at all. They seemed to be reinforced by a thin, powerful membrane that prevented anyone from peeping in.

"No, it’s not," Memphis said as she pushed herself slightly away from the panel and walked to the side of the room where there was a window.

"What is it?" Kael pressed.

Katari’s eyes followed Memphis’s every movement and the space around her was now as stiff as steel.

She was just one shoulder tap away from teleporting her and Kael out of here.

So she kept her eyes firmly on Memphis, watching for any sudden unexpected movements.

Even though Katari might not be able to fight Memphis, with her by his side, Kael could feel reassured that all his blind spots would be covered.

"This vessel..." Memphis said, she swiped her hands at the metal wall. The metal plates shifted to the side to reveal a shelf compartment.

Arranged inside it were different bottles containing different red liquids.

"...This vessel is a time machine," Memphis ended with a vague look in her eyes, "Or, it used to be."

She reached out to grab one of the bottles filled with red liquid.

Kael didn’t know what to be shocked about, the fact that Memphis just called this machine they were flying in a time machine, or the labels he could see etched on those bottles.

From the labels, Kael could see that those bottles were wine bottles. But the wine contained inside wasn’t just any wine.

They were the blood of different exotic creatures.

One bottle read: Blueberry dragon blood wine, refined from the millennium Blueberry origin tree and tier 7 Destruction Dragon.

Everything about that label was just off-putting? Like, how was it possible?

And that was just one bottle, Memphis had about thirty of these bottles each with different labels, stacked behind her secret wall compartment.

Some were labelled with phoenix blood, some with World Breaker Rhino blood, and one had Chaos corrupted Elephant blood.

There was even one bottle that was a mix between a fire fix blood and spirit zebra blood. Both of those creatures had been tier 7 before they died and were refined into this bottle of wine.

Memphis casually picked up one bottle from the shelf and found some glass mugs. It was unknown how long these wines had been waiting but Kael wanted to assume that the wines had been refined a very long time ago.

Was this a show of power? It probably wasn’t. Seeing how casually Memphis was handling the bottles yet attending to them with delicacy, it was clear that this was just a really expensive luxury that she chose to enjoy at this time.

However, this demonstration was enough to cause Kael’s guard to be raised slightly.

Memphis removed the cork from the bottle she had picked and a powerful fragrance swept through the whole room.

*Gulp!*

Exalon swallowed his saliva loudly, his nose twitched and his eyes burned with desire.

Katari frowned and decided to just stop breathing altogether. Since she was a vacuum entity, she could do without breathing and inhaling this intoxicating aroma.

Kael swallowed heavily but he chose to act like he wasn’t perceiving anything.

Unfortunately, Exalon had no intention of being shy, "Is that for all of us?" He asked without an atom of shame.

Memphis shook her head, "No, not really."

"But you have three glass cups," Exalon said, leaning his large frame forward.

"Wait, you said this is a time machine?" Kael asked, stylishly steering the conversation back to what was important.

"No, it used to be," Memphis said as she set the three glass mugs on the panel and began pouring the red wine into them.

The aroma became stronger and Kael and Exalon were beginning to find it hard to think straight.

"I got this time machine from the ruins of an ancient civilization,"
