Old Master Jiang scoffed.

"If it’s her humble background, then it’s not the issue. One thing that is questionable about your wife is her attitude. Just look how hard she tried to cater to those who were in power. There’s nothing wrong with being ambitious, but being too greedy would only attract trouble to your door. If one day my Jiang family were destroyed because of your wife, you can only blame yourself for choosing such a harlot. Lewis, some women are good to fool around with but never to be introduced as your prospective wife to your parents, and she’s one of them."

"Grandpa!" Cayden couldn’t believe his mother was being humiliated like this.

Old Master Jiang cast him a fierce look. "If anything, she also passed such arrogance to your children."

"Father, you are going overboard here!" Lewis interjected. He’d long known that his father disapproved of Camilla and favored Rosemary Zhao greatly. He knew Rosemary Zhao could help him advance his career, but he couldn’t give up his long-time lover.

"I’m going overboard?" Old Master Jiang repeated his son’s words. "I guess we’re the same. You treated Adrienne so badly that we have to walk on eggshells around the Zhao family now!"

They hadn’t settled anything yet when someone came to report another disastrous issue.

"Master! A loan shark has come and demanded to see Young Master Cayden! He’s demanding to be paid 10 million plus interest or else the Young Master would lose a part of his body tonight!"

"What did you say?!" Lewis couldn’t believe what he just heard.

Cayden’s face turned ashen as a familiar man entered the study. Uncle Shark looked around and then his gaze paused at the massive portrait in the study. His smile widened upon seeing Cayden.

"Well, well, well, Young Master Jiang. You don’t know how long I’ve been looking for you. You aren’t picking up my calls or showing up at our designated meeting place." Uncle Shark said as he sat down in an armchair. He crossed his legs and lit up a cigarette.

"Obviously, I came to collect the debt tonight." He added, blowing thick smoke in the air.

Old Madam Jiang glared at him, but Uncle Shark ignored her completely.

"How much did he owe you again?" Old Master Jiang asked. He didn’t know why problems kept popping up on his own birthday. His son’s second family kept giving him headaches recently.

"He owed me 10 million to bribe a proctor to pass his Law Aptitude Examination. It’s been six months, but Cayden Jiang has yet to pay me a single cent. He doesn’t show any interest in settling his balance. If I don’t get my money today, I fear he needs to shed some blood to pacify my anger." Uncle Shark gave Cayden a freezing look.

"What would your guest think if they found out that your son cheated on his exam to enter law school and even bribed someone for it? However, it’s a pity he wasted such a hefty amount of money because someone reported that proctor for allowing students to enter law school illegally. Now, he can’t even retrieve the bribe money."

"T-ten million?! I thought you passed law school!" Lewis pulled his son’s collar harshly, his eyes filled with rage.

"Wait, do you mean to say you aren’t attending law school now?" Camilla looked horrified at her son. She initially thought her son had been partying too much lately instead of focusing on his studies. Who knew Cayden didn’t manage to qualify for law school at all?

"Unfilial child!" Lewis punched Cayden in the face. "How dare you lie to me and your mother?!"

Uncle Shark raised his arm and checked his wristwatch.

"Where’s my money? I have no time to watch you blame each other. Give me my 12 million right now, or else..." He pulled a sharp blade from his coat and pointed it at Cayden.

"We don’t have that much money in the household right now." Lewis gritted his teeth. His fist was still itching to teach his son a lesson.

"What’s going on here?" Adrienne then suddenly arrived unannounced with Hunter. "I just dealt with Aunt Camilla’s parents, what could it possibly be this time?!"

Camilla turned to Adrienne for help this time.

"Addie, please help your brother! We need 12 million to pay this man, or he will hurt Cayden!" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Adrienne faced the unexpected guest and saw Uncle Shark. Uncle Shark equally met her gaze and raised a brow.

"My 12 million, or your brother might lose a finger." He said without batting an eyelid.

"I’m sorry, Aunt Camilla, but I don’t have money to pay for Cayden. As you know, I’ve used most of my funds on my Mom’s hospital bills."

Everyone in the family knew that Adrienne’s funds had run dry already.

"M-mom’s dowry! Mom still has some money, right? Maybe that could help us!" Cayden exclaimed out of despair.

Adrienne frowned while Hunter thought of how pathetic Cayden was. Now he claims familial ties with Rosemary Zhao after attempting to take her life? Cayden was really a shameless bastard.

"That’s not possible. The Zhao family has seized and frozen all her accounts. Even if I want to help, I won’t be able to do anything. Uncle Reese has already been deployed for a mission and he wouldn’t back for another six months."

"I have no plans to wait for another six months! I want my money now!" Uncle Shark sounded so impatient now. He stood up and stalked towards Cayden.

"Y-you... what do you think you’re doing?! Guards! Take him away!"

Five uniformed men came and tried to stop Uncle Shark, but he easily beat them one by one. Adrienne stood and crossed her arms over her chest while Hunter remained unbothered at the scene before them.

Old Madam Jiang and Camilla screamed when Cayden was being choked to death by Uncle Shark.

"Choose wisely. You give me my money or I’ll end you today."
