Adrienne laughed when she saw her husband’s reaction to her surprise. Lennox could only laugh helplessly and look at her with an awkward smile as Noah and Scarlett hugged him as soon as they arrived at Adrienne’s penthouse in Jinling. It wasn’t like he wasn’t thrilled to see his siblings, but he thought he’d be able to have his wife all to himself tonight.

"Addie said we can stay here with you for two weeks. Is everything alright at the company?" Samantha asked while she helped Adrienne with her outer coat and hung it on the rack.

"Just a lot of meetings and stuff," Lennox said, patting Scarlett’s head and picking up Noah from the ground to hold him. "Is it alright for you to be here that long? What about school?"

Adrienne laughed and sauntered towards the kitchen to reheat the food she asked to be cooked earlier for dinner.

"Don’t worry about it. They have a two-week break from school. I asked them what they wanted to do with those free days, and they insisted we should come here to see you." She told her husband.

Lennox sighed, feeling guilty for his lack of time for his younger siblings. When he was still bound in a wheelchair three years ago, these three would always keep him company and never let him feel alone, especially when Adrienne was away. However, as soon as they returned, Adrienne had become their guardian, and he barely had time to spend with them. He felt grateful for Adrienne’s presence in their lives, but at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for not being able to be as present as she was.

Lennox found himself lost in thought as they sat down to eat, his mind wandering to past memories. He remembered how his siblings used to climb onto his lap and listen to him read their stories or how they used to play board games together. Now, it seemed like they were growing up too fast and becoming more independent.

"Lennox, are you alright?" Adrienne asked him, noticing his distant expression.

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. "Yeah, I’m fine. Just thinking about some stuff."

Adrienne nodded, but she could tell that something was bothering him.

After dinner, they all sat in the living room to watch a movie. Adrienne sat next to Lennox, and he couldn’t help but feel a sense of comfort with her beside him. As the movie progressed, he slowly drifted to sleep, his head resting on her shoulder.

Adrienne smiled down at him, then glanced over at his siblings, who were also dozing off. She gently lifted Lennox’s head and placed a pillow underneath it, then got up and walked over to the balcony to clear her head.

As she stood there, looking out at the city, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind. She leaned back into Lennox’s embrace, and he kissed her neck softly. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Thank you for bringing them here to see me, Addie." He said.

Lennox hadn’t been able to return home to Chiangshi for three days, and he was glad to see and spend time with his younger siblings.

Adrienne glanced at the living room, seeing that the children weren’t there anymore, and surmised that her husband had already tucked them to bed before seeing her. She smiled and rested her forehead against his shoulder. Not only did the children miss him, but she also missed him terribly as well.

Adrienne had turned on their bed for the past few nights, not being able to sleep as she was too aware of her husband’s absence by her side. She knew the implications and what arrangements she needed to endure when Lennox joined Qin Motors, but she couldn’t help but miss his presence. She missed those quiet moments with him, where they could be together without distractions or responsibilities.

Adrienne missed her husband’s touch and the sound of his voice. She missed the way he looked at her and the way he made her feel. She knew their relationship was strong, but she couldn’t help but feel the longing she was experiencing. She had done her best to help her husband by looking after his siblings and relocating the secret lab for his project.

"I miss you, Addie," Lennox murmured against her head. "I miss them as well. I miss the days when it was just us, and we could spend hours with them. Now, they’re growing up so fast, and I’m missing a lot.".

"You’re doing the best you can, Lennox. You’ve been an amazing brother to them, and they love you no matter what."

Lennox smiled at her words, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him. He leaned down and kissed her lips gently, pouring all his love and affection into it. Adrienne responded eagerly, wrapping her arms around his neck and deepening the kiss.

As they broke apart, Lennox pulled her close again, resting his head on her chest. "Thank you, Addie. I don’t know what I would do without you."

Adrienne ran her fingers through his hair, feeling a sense of contentment settle over her. She knew their life together wasn’t easy, but she was willing to wait for him. Lennox had waited for her patiently for a long time, and now it was her turn to prove her love and devotion to him. She knew that he was going through a lot with his work and his siblings, but she was proud of him for handling it all with grace and determination.

"Come on. You need to wash before we go to bed." She took his hand and led him to their bedroom with a teasing smile.

Lennox’s eyes glimmered as he willingly followed his wife’s lead.

"Oh, do I get the real surprise now?" He grinned at his wife before he moved to pick her up in a bridal carry, causing her to giggle. Adrienne wrapped her arms around his neck, her heart fluttering as he carried her towards the bathroom.

"Maybe," she teased, feeling a sense of playfulness and excitement surge through her.

Once they arrived in the bathroom, Lennox gently set her down on her feet, and they both began to undress, stealing glances at each other as they did so. Adrienne felt her heart race as she watched her husband, admiring how his muscles flexed as he removed his shirt.

Once they were both naked, Lennox turned on the shower, and the warm water cascaded over them, steam filling the room. He reached for the body wash and began to lather it over her skin, his touch gentle and loving. Adrienne closed her eyes and leaned into his touch, feeling a sense of relaxation wash over her.

The warm water and her husband’s touch were just what she needed to forget about everything that had been troubling her. Lennox’s touch became more intimate as he leaned in to kiss her, his hands roaming over her body as she moaned softly in response. They both lost themselves in the moment, their bodies becoming one as they expressed their love for each other in the most intimate way possible.

After they finished, Lennox wrapped her in a towel and carried her to bed, laying her down and tucking her in. He kissed her forehead softly and crawled in beside her, his arm wrapping around her waist. Adrienne snuggled into him, feeling a sense of warmth and safety in his embrace. She knew they had many challenges ahead, but it didn’t matter so long as he was by her side.
