Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 367: I Won’t Let Him Get Away With It (1)
When Lennox stepped out of his office with his wife, he was worried that his co-workers would have the wrong impression of him because of what happened earlier. However, he was surprised to see them returning from the pantry with snacks and drinks in their hands. Their faces lit up when they saw Adrienne with him.
"Mrs. Qin, thank you for the refreshments and packed meals! We appreciate your thoughtfulness." One of them said that, and the other started following his lead. They were unaware of what had happened to his office earlier and had not noticed that Bree was nowhere to be found.
Adrienne smiled warmly.
"It’s no bother. I know everyone here is working hard and has no time to get or choose a well-balanced meal. You don’t need to worry about it anymore, as I intend to provide it until the project is completed. I’ll also ask Lennox to consider your working hours. Your welfare is also as important as this project."
Adrienne’s kind gesture brought a sense of relief to the team, knowing that they would no longer have to worry about their meals during this demanding project. As they continued to express their gratitude, Adrienne reassured them that their well-being was her top priority and that she would do whatever it took to support them throughout the project.
The team’s morale skyrocketed as they felt valued and cared for, increasing productivity and motivation. Adrienne’s thoughtful consideration of their working hours further demonstrated her commitment to their welfare, ensuring a healthy work-life balance and preventing burnout.
Lennox sighed and placed a hand on Adrienne’s waist. His wife saved him from problems that might arise because of Bree.
"You’re amazing, Addie. I was worried for nothing," he whispered to Adrienne.
Adrienne smiled. "Jet and Jasper helped me. While Miss Bree was in your office, they called everyone to the pantry for a break. You don’t need to worry too much, Len. I assure you, Jacob will pay a price for messing up with us."
Lennox could sense the warning in her tone. He knew that Adrienne was fiercely protective of their family and would not hesitate to act against anyone threatening them. He also felt the same way. It was one thing to hijack to make his project fail, but for Jacob to cover and lust over his wife was crossing a line that Lennox could not ignore.
"Are you sure about this, Addie? I can speak with Jacob and ask him to leave you alone." He asked.
"And then what? Brush off your concerns, Len? An arrogant person like him would never understand the harm he brought to others. He needs to face the consequences of his actions," Addie replied, her voice filled with determination. "He wants to mess up our marriage? Then I’ll break his marriage, too. Just because he doesn’t value his marriage with Audrey doesn’t mean he could also mess up ours. I won’t let him get away with it."
"Be careful then, Addie. Don’t forget that he’s a Qin and might do something reckless to ruin your reputation in retaliation. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.
"Thank you for your concern, Len. I understand the risks involved, but I can’t let his actions go unpunished. I’ll make sure to take the necessary precautions and be prepared for any consequences that may arise. Our marriage is worth fighting for, and I won’t let him destroy it without a fight."
Adrienne had learned the hard way in her past life. If she allowed others to get between her and Lennox, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself. She had made that mistake before, and it had cost her dearly. She was determined not to repeat it and willing to do whatever it took to protect their marriage.
"Alright. Just let me know if you need some help. Feel free to use my people if it pleases you." Lennox then glanced at his two personal bodyguards, having the time of their lives as they fought for their share of the snacks Adrienne had bought for everyone.
Adrienne smiled gratefully at Lennox. She knew he would do anything to protect their family, and she was grateful for his unwavering support.
"Thank you, Len. I appreciate it. But for now, I’ll handle it myself," she said, touching his cheek and kissing him tenderly.
Lennox wrapped his arms around her waist and deepened the kiss, forgetting about everything else for a moment. His wife was all he needed, and he vowed to protect her at all costs. He wouldn’t allow anyone, especially the Qin family, to take her away from him.
As they pulled away, they noticed their bodyguards watching them with amusement.
"Sorry to interrupt, boss, but we need to get going. The security team is waiting for us," Jet said, grinning.
Lennox chuckled and nodded. "Right. Let’s go, then."
He then looked at his wife. It was Adrienne’s first time to visit him, yet he didn’t have time to show her around. He still had one meeting to attend before he called it a day.
"I’ll be back soon. Let’s go home together."
Adrienne nodded. "I’ll be here when you return. Don’t worry about me."
One of the employees stepped forward and volunteered to show Adrienne around, introducing her to other employees who had yet to meet her earlier. Adrienne politely greeted them and asked for any of their concerns that her husband might have overlooked.
They hesitated momentarily, but seeing Adrienne’s honest concern allowed them to talk about their concerns with her easily. When Lennox returned an hour later, he was startled to see the rest of his team conversing happily with his wife.
Adrienne waved at the rest of the team, signaling her departure, and followed Lennox and their bodyguards. She could feel their eyes on her as they walked towards the elevator, watching her every move.
The Qin family’s eyes were everywhere. She knew the gossip would spread soon, and some of them might even try to create trouble for her. But she didn’t care. She was determined to protect her family, and nothing would stop her.
Adrienne took a deep breath as they stepped into the elevator, feeling a sense of determination wash over her. She knew the road ahead would be challenging, but she was ready for whatever came her way. She had Lennox by her side, and they would face any challenge head-on together.
