Chapter 356: Alyssa Qin (2)

Alyssa felt a surge of anger at her brother’s words. She had warned her brothers about Jacob. Unlike Lennox, Jacob was unpredictable and had a bad temper. But her brothers had chosen to ignore her warnings and had put their trust in Jacob. Now, it seemed that their decision had backfired. Alyssa knew that her brothers would need her help if they wanted to salvage the situation.

She rubbed her temple, feeling another migraine that was about to hit her soon.

"I’ll speak to that shareholder about this; you sit with Jacob and ask him what he’s up to," she said, trying to keep her voice calm. "We need to figure out how to address this issue and reassure our shareholders. Have we heard anything from the other shareholders?"

Henry shook his head. "Not yet, but we expect more of them to follow suit. We need to act fast before it’s too late."

Alyssa felt a lump form in her throat. It’s been a year since their father suffered a stroke, leaving the management to them and Jacob. She knew that Qin Industries would be in deep trouble if the other shareholders withdrew their investments. It would be a disaster for the company and mean that her chances of becoming the next chairwoman would be slim.

"We’ll hold an emergency meeting with the board and address these concerns," she said, determined to find a solution. "Don’t mention it to Father yet. In the meantime, you talk to Jacob and see what he has to say. We need to handle this carefully and make sure that we don’t make any rash decisions."

Henry nodded, looking relieved. "Thank you, Alyssa. I knew I could count on you."

As her brother left her office, Alyssa took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves. She knew that the next few days would be crucial for the company and her own future. She would need to be at her best if she wanted to save Qin Industries from falling apart. She cannot allow her stupid nephew to ruin the company, even before she becomes chairwoman.

She returned to her husband’s study and found her husband speaking to someone over the phone. Benedict turned to her and smiled at her, gesturing for her to wait for a moment. Alyssa leaned against the doorframe and chuckled amusingly. She might be unfortunate with her birth family, but she was lucky to have Benedict by her side. No matter how much pressure the Qin family put on him, Benedict remained loyal to her. They were blessed with two children. They loved one daughter and a son dearly.

Benedict was a corporate lawyer, helping Alyssa with the legal affairs of Qin Industries. He was also her confidant and her rock in times of trouble. She knew she could always count on him to support her and help her make tough decisions about running a company.

As Benedict finished his call, Alyssa approached and kissed him on the cheek.

"What was that about?" she asked.

"That was our financial advisor," Benedict replied. "He’s concerned about the recent pullout of our major shareholder and has suggested we start looking for new investors to replace him."

Alyssa nodded, thinking about the best way to approach the situation.

"I agree, but I’ll have a talk with that shareholder before we start looking for new investors. We also need to address the concerns of our current shareholders and assure them that we have a plan in place to handle this crisis."

Benedict smiled at her, his eyes filled with admiration. "You always know what to do, my love," he said. "I have no doubt we’ll be able to overcome this."

Alyssa smiled back at him, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. She knew that they would have a tough road ahead of them, but with Benedict by her side, she felt confident that they could weather any storm that came their way.

"But what about Lennox? Do you think he would accept Father’s offer for him to join the company again?" Benedict asked curiously. He knew things would be different at the company once Lennox decided to join them.

Alyssa shrugged. "I don’t know. I haven’t talked to him yet," she said. "But we need all the help we can get right now. If he’s willing to put aside his differences and work with us, I think it would be beneficial for the company."

Benedict nodded in agreement. "I’ll try to reach out to him and see if we can convince him to join us. I’m also curious about Adrienne. If we can use her to persuade Lennox to work with us, it’s worth the shot."

"I’m not sure about that," Alyssa said, furrowing her brow. "We don’t know her well yet. It would be dangerous for us to offend Lennox by going after her. If she could destroy the Jiang family on her own, then she’s not a person to mess with, Ben."

"You think she’s that good?" Benedict rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Well, if she’s capable of taking down a family like the Jiangs, she must have some serious skills. But we won’t know for sure unless we gather more information about her. Maybe we can discreetly investigate her background and find out if she has any weaknesses or vulnerabilities."

Alyssa wasn’t sure if that was the best approach they should take. She knew that digging into someone’s background could potentially alert them to their investigation and make them more cautious. Additionally, it was possible that Adrienne had connections or resources that could make it difficult to uncover any weaknesses.

"Lennox was already a handful enough for us to deal with, so we must be cautious before underestimating this woman. It’s clear that she possesses a level of power and cunning that demands our attention. Let’s proceed with caution and gather as much information as possible before making any moves. Anyway, Henry and Jacob are already conducting an investigation into her. There’s no need for us to do so, but wait and see how Adrienne would respond to their approach."
