Chapter 310: I Don’t Regret a Single Thing (1)

Adrienne was expecting her mother, Hunter, and Uncle Reese to visit her that day. Since she was limiting her exposure outside until Alistair and Ayla were married, the two were expected to hold their wedding in two weeks. Her brother and Uncle Reese were aware of her circumstances and agreed to her plan to lie low.

It was the first time her mother was visiting the home she shared with Lennox, and Adrienne made sure that her mother felt welcomed and comfortable. She helped clean the house from top to bottom, asked the cook to prepare her mother’s favorite meal, and even bought fresh flowers to brighten up the space.

Adrienne wanted everything to be perfect for her mother’s visit, as she knew how much it meant to both of them to spend quality time together. It felt like such a long time since she’d seen her, but Hunter assured her that their mother’s recovery was going well.

Lennox had decided to stay at home to welcome his mother-in-law. He wanted to make sure she felt welcomed and appreciated, knowing how important family was to Adrienne.

When his in-laws finally arrived, Adrienne was overjoyed to see them after such a long time. She hugged her mother tightly and welcomed her with a warm smile. Uncle Reese hugged her as well before he engaged in a conversation.

It was also the first time, the three met Lennox’s siblings minus Vince, who was still in the military academy. Noah and Scarlett seemed to adore Hunter while Vaughn and Liam decided to play a game on the entertainment room after meeting the guests.

As everyone settled into the living room, Lennox brought in a tray of snacks and drinks. Adrienne noticed the way her mother’s eyes lingered on Lennox with a smile on her face.

"I’m glad you are living well and happy with Lennox. My heart is at ease now, Addie." Rosemary held Adrienne’s hand with tears welling in her eyes. She was relieved to know her daughter was able to find some who could love her for who she was.

"Mom, there’s no need for this tears." Adrienne told her mother.

She was glad that her mother was recovering well. Rosemary had gained a considerable amount of weight since the last time Adrienne had seen her. Her colors were improving and Rosemary was finally starting to look like herself again.

Suddenly, her mother leaned over and whispered in her ear, "He’s a good man, Addie. Don’t let him go."

Adrienne was taken aback by her mother’s words, but she couldn’t deny the truth of them. Lennox had been nothing but kind and loving to her since the day they got married. He had never once judged her or made her feel anything less than perfect just the way she was.

"I’m not planning to, mom." Adrienne smiled. A slight blush spreading on her face.

"I don’t think I could live a life without him anymore." She admitted to her mother.

She glanced at her husband who was laughing at something Hunter had said. Adrienne was surprised that her brother was treating her husband well now, that he and Lennox can have a decent talk to each other.

Rosemary followed Adrienne’s gaze and saw Lennox laughing with Hunter. A genuine smile spread across her face, and she leaned back in her chair, contented. "I’m glad to see that things are going well for you both," she said softly. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, Addie."

Adrienne’s heart swelled with warmth at her mother’s words. She felt so grateful to have her family with her, especially Lennox, who had become her rock and her safe haven.

"Mom, thank you for coming back to me." Adrienne laid her head against her mother’s shoulder as they sat on the couch.

Rosemary held her daughter close and kissed her crown. There were so many things she regretted in the past, but she was thankful to be given a chance to become a mother to Adrienne and Hunter, whom she had just recently met after so many years of separation.

"It’s the only thing I can do, Addie. I should apologize for all the troubles I’ve caused. As for your father, rest assured I won’t stop you on your path to vengeance. Just promise me you’ll be careful, Addie. We so much catching up to do and I’m not ready to lose you."

As the conversation continued, Adrienne couldn’t help but feel grateful for the family she had. Despite all the difficulties they had faced, they were still able to come together and support each other. She knew that her mother’s visit was just the beginning of more happy moments to come.

As the night drew to a close, Lennox walked her mother and Uncle Reese to the door. Adrienne heard her mother whisper something to Lennox as they said goodbye, but she didn’t catch what it was.

"Since when did you and my mother keeping secrets from me?" Adrienne teased her husband, once her family were gone.

Lennox let out a laugh and drew her into his embrace. He was so happy that his smile reached his eyes.

"Your mom was just asking me for opinions about the wedding preparations she and my mother were planning to hold for us." He said in defense.

"Would it be alright to leave all the planning to them?" Adrienne asked. "I don’t mind doing it since the launch of season collection for Purple Cloud has ended. Your mother is already busy with her work at Starmedia and I don’t want to add problems on her plate."

Lennox shrugged. He led her upstairs, holding her hand as they took their way to their bedroom.

"Let them be, Addie. Since everyone knew that we’re married our mothers are going all out to ensure we’ll get the best wedding ceremony we could have. Your cousin isn’t the only one who would walk the aisle soon."

"I don’t care if is grand or not. I prefer it to be an intimate ceremony, Len. I want to share it with our family and closest friends." Adrienne’s eyes showed a hint of sadness in her eyes.
