"I’m glad I came with you today, Addie," Hunter said as they drove to Zhao Estate. "You have no idea how worried Mom and I were about you yesterday."

It was one afternoon, and they hadn’t had lunch yet. Their mother was waiting anxiously for their return. Adrienne glanced at Hunter with a grateful smile on her face. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"I really appreciate you being there for me," she admitted, her voice filled with sincerity.

"Mom was so relieved when I told her you were coming along." The thought of their worried mother waiting at home only made Adrienne determined to see the Jiang family’s fate end. She didn’t want to give them any chance to hurt their mother again.

Their grandmother, who had a friendly smile, and their mother, still bound in a wheelchair, welcomed them to the Zhao estate. Adrienne immediately walked toward her mother and kissed her cheek. Rosemary returned the gesture and refused to let go of her daughter’s hand.

"Have you been waiting for too long? You should have waited for us inside." Adrienne said.

"It’s alright, Addie," Rosemary replied, "I made you wait for a very long time after all."

Adrienne shook her head. She didn’t want to think of the painful past, but she knew it was her reason for exacting revenge.

"It doesn’t matter, Mom. What matters is that you’re with us now." Adrienne replied.

"She’s right, my dear." Old Madam Zhao gently ran her fingers through Rosemary’s hair. "Let’s get inside before you catch a cold."

Hunter stepped forward and volunteered to push their mother’s wheelchair. Adrienne guided their grandmother. Every single day, Rosemary’s condition continued to improve, much to Adrienne’s relief. If her mother hadn’t woken up from her coma, Adrienne was sure she would lose her mind again, like she did in her previous life.

Adrienne failed to preserve her mother’s life and lost everyone because she was foolish. However, that wouldn’t be the case now. The Jiang family was about to collapse, and she was merely giving them the false sense of home that they still had a chance to survive the calamity.

The lunch was filled with warmth and affection, and Adrienne was glad to see the entire Zhao family complete after years of separation. As they shared stories and laughter, Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope that she could mend the broken bonds and protect her loved ones this time. She was determined to do whatever it took to prevent history from repeating itself and ensure that her family stayed together, no matter the cost.

Lennox and Noah had already returned from their short trip when she returned home. Noah was napping in his room while Lennox was working out at the gym in their home. Adrienne leaned against the doorframe, watching her husband do crunches.

Lennox’s muscles flexed with every repetition, sweat dripping down his forehead as he focused on the task. Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a surge of desire course through her as she watched him work out. Her body ached for his touch, and her mind was consumed by thoughts of the passion they shared together.

"Watching me, Addie?" Lennox smirked, noticing her presence in the doorway.

Adrienne felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment, but she couldn’t deny her attraction to her husband. She walked over to him, placing a hand on his chest as he finished his set.

"Maybe," she whispered, leaning in for a kiss. Lennox eagerly reciprocated, his hands running up and down her back as their lips met in a fiery embrace.

Lennox pulled away harshly, his eyes filled with desire.

"Now, you are being unfair to me, Addie? Are you trying to seduce me?"

"Is it working then?" Adrienne smiled.

Lennox’s eyes darkened, but he didn’t make a move. It was rare for Adrienne to make the first move regarding their intimacy, though she was an active participant. Adrienne seemed to know what she needed to do to please him and get a reaction from him during their lovemaking.

The sight of her blushing face, her moans, and the feel of her smooth skin against him was enough to drive Lennox mad with desire for her. He wanted nothing more than to give in to his primal instincts and take her right then and there. But he also knew the importance of patience and savoring the anticipation.

Lennox leaned in closer, his voice low and husky as he whispered, "Oh, my sweet Addie. You are like a flower that blossomed among the weeds. You have no idea how tempted I am right now. Too bad this isn’t the right place for that. I’ll ruin anyone’s eyesight if they walk in and see how beautiful you are."

Since the arrival of his siblings, he and Adrienne hadn’t made love and were content to snuggle at night. However, it didn’t mean he didn’t desire his wife, but he knew Adrienne was uncomfortable, fearing that his siblings might see or overhear them doing it.

"I’m not done working out, Mrs. Qin. Would you like to help me?" He asked.

Adrienne raised a brow. "Sure. I can’t see why not."

"Then do you mind putting your weight on my feet to keep it in place while I do my crunches?" Lennox asked, a mischievous smile spreading on his lips.

Adrienne moved in place, held his knees, and put his weight on his feet to keep him in place. This was the first time she’d seen her husband workout, though she was aware he’d been doing it for some time. Lennox was far from the helpless, wheelchair-bound man she met years ago.

When he was in his wheelchair, Lennox was average and unimpressive, but once he was out of it, Adrienne was shocked to see how muscular and broad he was as well. He wasn’t ripped like she expected, but he was lean and in good shape. His body is warm and firm, like a marble statue carved from a rock. He’s a man built with strength.

Lennox continued his crunches, each movement becoming more difficult as Adrienne’s weight pressed down on his feet. He couldn’t help but notice how close they were, their bodies almost touching. The tension between them was palpable, and Lennox couldn’t help but wonder if Adrienne felt it too.

Adrienne didn’t find anything unusual, but their faces were almost touching every time Lennox moved up. She looked away, pretending not to see anything, but his deep breath sounded loud in her ears.

The proximity between them was becoming increasingly intimate, and Adrienne’s heart started to race. She was beginning to regret teasing her husband earlier. As Lennox leaned in closer, Adrienne could feel his warm breath on her skin, causing a shiver to run down her spine.

Their kiss was deep and intense, and their bodies pressed against each other as they explored each other’s mouths. Lennox’s hands roamed Adrienne’s body, tracing the curve of her waist and the swell of her breasts.

Adrienne moaned into his mouth, her hands running through his hair as she pulled him closer. She hoped none of her husband’s siblings would find them in such a compromising position. However, she cannot help but feel greedy, wanting her husband all to herself, even for a moment.

As their kiss deepened, Lennox flipped them over so he was now on top of Adrienne. He trailed kisses down her neck, nipping at her skin as he went. Adrienne’s hands ran down his back, urging him on as she gasped in pleasure. She missed his touch but didn’t dare let herself entirely give in to the desire.

Suddenly, the sound of the front door opening interrupted their heated moment, causing them both to freeze. Lennox quickly got off Adrienne, helping her up and straightening their clothes as they tried to compose themselves.

"Nox, are you here?" Noah called out from the outside. The door then opened, his cute face peeking from it. His smile widened as soon as he saw Adrienne with her brother.

"Addie, you are here too? What are you guys up to?"

Adrienne and Lennox shared a knowing look, their desire for each other still burning strong. However, they both knew they couldn’t do anything with Noah.

"Nothing. I was just helping your brother. Is there anything you need?" Adrienne responded, hoping that her clothes were still in place. Of all people, she couldn’t believe Noah would be the one who would come to find them.

Lennox discreetly leaned closer to his wife and whispered. "Don’t even think you can get away tonight, my sweet Addie. You won’t be having a single wink of sleep tonight."
