Chapter 266: Second Chance (2)

Rosemary couldn’t believe that she would finally meet her son. Her heart was beating so fast, and her hands were shaking. After all these years, she would finally know what he looked like, how he sounded, and everything about him. She wanted to hug him, hold him in her arms, and never let him go. She wanted to make up for all the lost time and be the mother that she was meant to be.

However, Rosemary also realized that not only did she fail to protect Adrienne, but her firstborn as well. As she thought about how her husband and his mistress tricked her, Rosemary couldn’t help but feel a mix of anger and betrayal. She couldn’t believe she had been deceived for so long, and the weight of her own naivety crushed her. The overwhelming guilt consumed her, knowing that she had unknowingly allowed her children to suffer because of her.

Adrienne and her eldest child wouldn’t have to experience such mistreatment from her husband if she’d grown a backbone and stood up for herself earlier. She realized she had been too passive, always putting her husband’s needs before hers. From that moment on, Rosemary promised to reclaim her strength and protect herself and her children from any further harm.

Rosemary wiped away her tears with renewed determination and took a deep breath. It was time to face the truth; she needed to be strong for her family.

"Addie, I am so sorry for everything that you and Hunter have had to go through. I promise to make it right and be the mother you both deserve." Rosemary said, her voice firm and resolute.

Adrienne smiled at her mother and hugged her tightly. "I know you will, Mom," she said, her voice filled with pride.

Rosemary looked at her daughter. "I need to know everything about Hunter, Addie. I want to be prepared when he gets here."

She wondered if Hunter held resentment towards her.

Adrienne nodded and took her mother’s hand. "I’ll tell you everything, Mom," she said, leading her to the couch. "It’s about time for you to meet your son." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

As they sat down, Adrienne began to tell her mother everything she knew about Hunter. She told her about his personality and his interests. She shared stories of what she knew about his childhood, his struggles, and his triumphs.

Rosemary listened intently, her heart swelling with tenderness for her son. She couldn’t wait to meet him, to hold him in her arms, and to tell him how much she loved him. As they talked, she realized she had much work to do.

As Rosemary awaited her son’s arrival, she knew her life would never be the same again. The past couldn’t be undone, but she was determined to make things right from that point on. She would fight for her children, no matter the cost. Nothing would stand in the way of her family’s happiness again. Not even her husband.

Finally, a car pulled up outside, and Rosemary’s heart raced. She held her breath as the door opened, and a tall, handsome young man stepped out along with her younger brother, Reese. He looked around nervously before locking eyes with Rosemary.

"Is that him?" she asked, barely able to contain her excitement.

Adrienne nodded, a smile spreading across her face. "Yes, Mom. That’s him."

As the young man walked towards her, Rosemary couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. She had two exceptional children and was about to meet the son she thought she had lost forever. As he got closer, she could see the resemblance between him and his father. But she could also see a glimmer of herself in his eyes.

"Hello, Mom," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. "It’s good to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you from Addie."

When Hunter received the news about his mother’s awakening from her long coma, he had waited for this day to come. He counted every day that passed, longing for the moment he could finally see his mother again. And now, as he stood before her, Hunter couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with a mix of emotions - relief, joy, and a deep sense of gratitude for the second chance they were given.

When he was younger, he thought his parents didn’t want him, so they threw him away. He had no idea that the woman who gave birth to him was grieving every day he was gone. As he looked into his mother’s eyes, he saw the pain and love that had been hidden for so long. Rosemary never forgot about him and treasured him deeply in her heart, even during the darkest moments.

Rosemary couldn’t speak. She stood there, looking at her son, unable to believe he was finally there before her. After a moment, Hunter stepped forward, kneeled before her, and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a warm embrace.

"I’m here, Mom. I’m here," he whispered, hoping Rosemary would acknowledge him as her son.

Tears streamed down Rosemary’s face as she hugged her son. She could feel the weight of their years apart, but it didn’t matter at that moment. All that mattered was that they were together again; nothing could take that away from them.

This must be why she was given a second chance and woke up from her coma. The universe had conspired to bring them back together, and Rosemary couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to make up for lost time.

Adrienne looked at her mother and older brother with teary eyes. She felt Lennox’s presence beside her, his hand tightly gripping hers, giving her the strength she needed. The years of longing and separation had been painful, but now they were finally reunited, and Adrienne knew they would never let go of each other again.

Her eyes met her brother’s gaze. Hunter mouthed her a sincere thanks as he held their weeping mother in his embrace. She beamed him a smile and leaned against her husband.

This family she treasured the most; she will protect it with all her might. They weren’t her weakness anymore, but instead her strength. As for her treacherous father and the Jiang family, their days were now numbered, and it was time to pull up the curtains and reveal their true colors to the entire world.
