Chapter 264: You’ve Lost, Alistair Han (2)

Lennox might sound calm, but he was seething with anger inside. How dare Alistair Han thinks he owned Adrienne? How long had he been targeting her? He wondered. For Alistair to be able to get, Adrienne’s private number meant Alistair had been monitoring her closely for quite some time. Lennox couldn’t help but feel a surge of protectiveness toward his wife.

Adrienne had no idea; she just received a call from Alistair Han. She was sleeping soundly beside Lennox after spending an intense night with him. She snuggled closer to him as if seeking his warmth. Her entire back was exposed while the sheets covered her lower body. She had no inkling of the danger that lurked in the shadows, unaware of the lengths Alistair had gone to invade her privacy and threaten their peaceful life together.

He could see the faint pink imprint of his hand still visible on her delicate, smooth skin. The evidence of their passionate night. Adrienne had been on the edge lately and never lowered her guard since her mother woke up from her coma. She had been struggling with a constant sense of unease, her mind always on high alert. She had become hyper-vigilant, knowing that any moment of vulnerability could be taken advantage of.

Lennox knew this, so he’d been careful not to cause her trouble. He’d tried to help her, but Adrienne politely declined, claiming everything was still under her control. Lennox knew his wife could deal with the problem, but Alistair Han irked him. He knew it wouldn’t be easy to dissuade that man from coming after his wife.

Adrienne hummed in her sleep, and Lennox couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief, knowing that, at least for now, she was safe. However, the nagging worry still lingered in the back of his mind, reminding him that their peace could be shattered at any moment.

He brushed a few strands of hair away from her face, watching her intently. He couldn’t help but wonder how long they could keep Alistair Han at bay before he found another way to threaten their happiness. The thought of Adrienne being in danger again made his blood boil, fueling his determination to protect her at all costs.

He waged a war against Alistair Han for Adrienne and swore he wouldn’t let the man have his wife. As the night wore on, Lennox lay awake, his mind racing with thoughts of how to protect his wife from Alistair Han. He knew he had to act fast before the man could make a move that would put Adrienne’s life in danger. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing her, not after everything they had been through together.

Lennox gently slipped out of bed, careful not to wake his sleeping wife, and reached for his phone. He scrolled through his contacts until he found the number he was looking for.

"Hey, Gabriel. It’s Lennox. I need your help," he said into the phone, his voice low and urgent. Gabriel was an old friend of Lennox’s, but he was also a powerful ally. He had connections that could help Lennox take care of Alistair Han once and for all.

"What’s the matter, Lennox?" Gabriel asked, his voice serious.

"It’s Alistair Han. He’s been harassing my wife, and I need to end it. I need your connections to make sure he stays away from her."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before Gabriel finally spoke. "I’ll see what I can do, Lennox. But you know the risks involved. Are you sure you want to go down this road?"

Lennox took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was about to come. "I have to do whatever it takes to protect my wife. I can’t let Alistair Han get his hands on her."

"Alright. I’ll make a few calls and see what I can find out. But you need to be careful, Lennox. Alistair Han is not a man to be trifled with."

"I know. But I have no choice. Also, it’s too late. I already offended Alistair Han, and he would surely hold a grudge against me. "

Lennox knew what kind of opponent Alistair Han was, but he was determined to face him head-on. He knew the risks were high, but the safety of his wife was his top priority. He wouldn’t allow a single strand of Adrienne’s hair to be touched by that filthy bastard.

Gabriel nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I understand, Lennox. Just remember, once you cross this line, there’s no turning back. Are you prepared for the consequences?"

Lennox’s determination hardened in his eyes as he replied, "I’ll do whatever it takes, Gabriel. My wife’s safety is worth any price."

Once the call ended, he returned to the bedroom, where Adrienne was still sleeping peacefully. He leaned down and kissed her gently, whispering that he loved her and that everything would be all right. He couldn’t lose her. Not now. Not ever.

Adrienne stirred in her sleep, her body snuggling even closer to his. She cracked an eye open and smiled when she saw him. Lennox rubbed her back in small circles and kissed her forehead.

"What took you so long?" Adrienne asked sleepily. "Is there a problem at Huayi?"

Lennox shook his head. He knew he could not keep secrets from his wife for too long. He sat on the bed and took Adrienne’s hand, gently stroking her knuckles with his thumb.

"Addie," he whispered, "there’s something I need to tell you."

Adrienne opened her eyes, looking at him with concern. "What is it?"

"You received a call from Alistair Han earlier. Have you been in contact with him before?"

Adrienne froze for a moment. She had no doubt that the Jiang family had given him her number. She shook her head, a sense of unease settling in her stomach.

"No, I don’t think so. Why would he be calling me?" She asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Lennox hesitated before answering, knowing that his following words would change everything. He threatened to take you away from me, Addie. He is obsessed with you."

Of course, Adrienne knew. She knew more than anyone else how crazy Alistair was when it came to her. That man kept her against her will and abused her for years in her previous life. The memories flooded back, causing her heart to race and her hands to tremble. She had escaped his clutches once, but the fear of him finding her again never truly left her. Lennox’s words confirmed her worst fears - Alistair was still fixated on her. It baffled her why he was still obsessed with her.

Lennox pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her close. "I won’t let him touch you, Addie. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe," he said, his voice firm with determination.

Adrienne clung to him, feeling a sense of comfort in his strong arms. But the fear lingered, and she knew Alistair Han wouldn’t stop at anything to get to her. She had to be careful, and she had to be smart. Alistair was a formidable opponent, and she knew she wasn’t strong enough to bring him down. She might need Lennox’s help to end Alistair for once and for all.
