Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 263: You’ve Lost, Alistair Han (1)
Alistair broke everything in sight; his rage unleashed like a raging storm. The sound of shattering glass and splintering wood filled the air as he vented his frustrations. His anger seemed to consume him entirely, as if he had lost control over his actions. The intensity of his destructive outburst was both alarming and unsettling.
Just as he thought, he’d heard the worst; hearing his recent imported goods being seized by the authorities added fuel to his anger. Alistair’s face turned red with fury as he realized everything didn’t go according to plan. Not only had he lost Adrienne, but now his financial endeavors were also crumbling before him.
"Lennox Qin!" He roared at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing through the empty room. The name of his rival filled him with rage. He vowed to himself that he would make Lennox Qin pay for everything he had lost, no matter what it took.
Not only did Lennox Qin take away his woman, but he also crippled his business in one swift move. His once-thriving business empire suffered a massive loss in just one day, leaving him with nothing but a burning desire for revenge. The thought of Lennox Qin’s smug face only fueled his fury further as he plotted his next move to bring him down and reclaim what was rightfully his.
Alistair was confident his business would recover in time, but losing Adrienne Jiang to Lennox Qin left a bitter taste in his mouth. He paced back and forth, his mind swirling with anger. He couldn’t believe how everything had spiraled out of control so quickly.
As Alistair continued to rampage through the room, his eyes fell upon the photo of Adrienne on the screen of his laptop. It was taken during Prosecutor Ji’s banquet. She was so beautiful; her presence otherworldly. No other woman had made him so captivated and alive. Her radiant smile in the photo now seemed like a cruel mockery, a reminder of what he had lost.
He had loved her, or at least he thought he did, but now all he felt was bitterness and resentment towards her. He believed that by exerting pressure on the Jiang family, Adrienne would have no choice but to accept their arranged marriage. After all, she had always been obedient and compliant with her family’s wishes in the past. But to his astonishment, she had stood up against them, cutting all ties and refusing to marry him. It was a blow to his ego and his plans.
Alistair’s rage intensified as he thought of Lennox Qin, the man who had orchestrated this downfall. His anger turned into a burning desire for revenge. Lennox Qin had stolen Adrienne’s heart and caused her to reject him. Lennox Qin would pay dearly for his interference. Alistair swore to make him regret crossing paths with him.
Han Corporation had actively opposed Huayi recently, and Alistair couldn’t help but wonder if this was Lennox’s way of getting even with him. But Huayi and Lennox Qin have been a thorn in his side for over three years.
Alistair wasn’t sure how Gavin Si, Lennox Qin’s second right-hand man, managed to keep him on the edge, constantly finding new ways to challenge him and his company. Gavin was cunning and relentless, always one step ahead of Alistair’s every move. It frustrated him to no end, fueling his determination to bring down Lennox Qin and Huayi once and for all.
Alistair took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He knew he had to think rationally and devise a plan to take down Lennox Qin. He walked over to his desk and picked up his phone. He dialed Adrienne’s private number, wanting to hear her voice even for a moment.
However, what greeted him from the other line was the familiar voice of a man. Lennox Qin. Alistair’s heart sank as he realized that Lennox Qin had intercepted his call to Adrienne. It was already late at night; did this mean Adrienne had spent the night with Lennox Qin?
The thought of her being with another man made Alistair’s blood boil. He clenched his fists, thinking about how Lennox Qin laid his hand on what was his.
"Well, well, well. If it isn’t Alistair Han. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate for someone like you to call Addie late at night? " Lennox Qin taunted him.
Alistair’s anger intensified at Lennox Qin’s mocking tone. He gritted his teeth, struggling to maintain composure in the face of such provocation.
"I don’t recall asking for your opinion, Lennox Qin," he retorted sharply, his voice laced with barely contained hostility.
"Oh? But you see, Mr. Han. I don’t like it when insects get close to Addie. I really hate it when someone like you tries to invade her personal space," Lennox replied mockingly.
Alistair’s entire body tensed at Lennox’s words. He could feel the anger boiling inside him, threatening to spill over. He had to fight to keep his voice steady.
"Insects? Personal space? You’re delusional, Lennox Qin. Adrienne is not your property; you have no right to claim her. Don’t forget that she’s the one who rejected me, not you," Alistair spat back.
Lennox chuckled, a sound that grated on Alistair’s nerves. "Is that what you think, Mr. Han? That Addie rejected you? You really have no idea, do you? She never wanted to marry you in the first place. Her family tried to pressure her, and she finally found the courage to stand up to them. You were just a convenient excuse," Lennox said, his tone cold and mocking.
Alistair felt like he had been punched in the gut. He had never considered that Adrienne might not have wanted to marry him. It was an ego blow, and he struggled to process Lennox’s words.
"You’re lying," he said, his voice sounding hollow even to himself.
Lennox sighed. "Believe what you want, Mr. Han. But know this: Adrienne is mine now. She chose me and won’t be swayed by your pitiful attempts to win her back. You’ve lost, Alistair Han. It’s time for you to accept that and move on."
Alistair’s vision turned red with rage. He could barely control himself as he shouted into the phone.
"Adrienne is mine!" he yelled, his voice trembling with anger. "I won’t let you take her away from me. You may have won this battle, but the war isn’t over yet."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and Alistair could imagine Lennox’s smug smirk. "I didn’t have to steal her. Addie chose me over you, and you can’t accept that fact. You could never handle rejection, could you? Addie is a person, not a possession. You can’t force her to be with you just because you want her."
Alistair seethed with anger at Lennox Qin’s words. He felt like a cornered animal, desperate to take revenge on the man who had taken everything from him.
"I’ll do whatever it takes to make her mine, Lennox Qin. And you’ll be the first to pay for getting in my way," Alistair said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, I’m shaking in my boots, Alistair Han. You’re all talk and no action. Come at me if you dare, but remember, I’m not afraid of you," Lennox Qin taunted him.
"Do your worst. Whatever you do, Addie would still choose me in the end." He added before ending the call without giving Alistair a chance to answer.
