Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 196: I’ll Always Love You (2)
"What am I supposed to do with those children without you, Addie?" Lennox grumbled, as he rested his head on Adrienne’s shoulder.
Vaughn had already left to seek out his younger twin brother, and the couple hoped that the twins would resolve their issues amicably. They knew that the twins had a strong bond and believed that their connection would help them find a resolution. However, Lennox couldn’t help but worry about the responsibility of taking care of the children on his own while they were away, far from Adrienne.
"You’ll do well, Len. You’ve been a good older brother to them so far." Adrienne reassured Lennox. "Aren’t you already close with Noah and Samantha?"
"That’s only because you are here, Addie. Do you think those children would spare me a look if you weren’t with me?" Lennox sighed. "At least I did a good job of choosing a great sister-in-law for them."
With the Qin siblings approaching soon, Lennox dreaded the day he would leave Adrienne. He was already used to having her by her side, and the thought of not being able to see her or hold her for a very long time upset him.
"What are you thinking?" Adrienne asked. She reached out a hand and touched Lennox’s overgrown hair. She thought he might need a haircut before leaving the country with his siblings.
"You," Lennox said without batting an eyelid. "I wonder how I would endure each passing day without being able to hold you and kiss you like this.
As if to prove his point, he took one of her hands and placed a kiss on her knuckles.
Adrienne blushed at his gesture, feeling a mix of longing and sadness. She knew that their separation would be difficult for both of them, but she also believed in his promise to return. With a soft smile, she replied, "I’ll be counting down the days until we can be together again, Len. If you still feel the same once you return, let’s marry at once."
Lennox placed her hand against his cheek and gave her palm a gentle kiss.
"I can’t wait for the day that you’ll become my wife. My Mrs. Qin." He smiled at her. "Please tell me you aren’t going to allow another man to sweep you away while I’m gone."
Adrienne chuckled at him. "Who would dare to do such a thing? I’m sure they would rather look at my cousin, Ayla, than choose me to become their bride."
"Oh, Addie, my darling. You have no idea how many fools are there waiting to snatch you away and keep you to themselves."
Adrienne smiled at his words. "Well, I suppose I’ll just have to make it clear that my heart already belongs to someone else, and no one else stands a chance."
"That doesn’t mean they would stop pursuing you, my dear." Lennox’s eyes took in her features, engraving every part of her face in his memory.
"Only a blind man would choose Ayla Jiang over you." He murmured as his fingers played with her hair.
"What if you met another woman while you’re away from me?"
Adrienne was also aware that distance and loneliness could make a person seek another lover to fill their longings. Hadn’t it happened in her past life? Because she distanced herself from Alistair, he ended up having an affair with Ayla.
Lennox frowned and pulled away. "That’s impossible, Addie. I’m not like my father. Since I decided to take you as my wife, I have promised to cherish you with everything I have. I want no one else but you, Addie. So wait for me, please?"
Adrienne stared at him for a moment before a smile spread on her lips. She shortened the distance between them and pecked his lips.
"I already said I would wait. What else do I need to say or do, Mr. Qin?" She asked playfully.
However, much to her surprise, Lennox pounced on her and pinned her beneath him on the couch. Adrienne stared at him with wide eyes as she found herself in a dangerous situation. She dearly hoped none of Lennox’s siblings, especially Noah and Scarlett, would find them in such a position.
"Len..." She tried to push his chest away from her, but Lennox didn’t budge from his position at all. His dark eyes gleamed with mischief as he leaned in closer, his warm breath tickling her ear.
"You don’t need to say or do anything else, Addie," he whispered huskily. "Just let me show you how much I would miss you."
Before Adrienne could say a word, Lennox’s lips descended on hers, catching her in a passionate kiss. Her resistance melted away almost instantly as the kiss deepened, and she tangled her hands in Lennox’s hair. He tasted like longing and desire, and she couldn’t get enough of him.
She felt her heart skip a beat as Lennox’s kiss intensified. She couldn’t help but melt under his touch, forgetting all her worries and fears about their impending separation. All she could feel was the overwhelming desire and love she had for him.
As their lips parted for a moment, Lennox looked into her eyes, his own filled with unabashed love and adoration.
"I promise to make every moment count when I’m back, my sweet, sweet Addie." He whispered, his voice husky with emotion. "Until then, let’s make every moment together count, shall we?"
Adrienne nodded, unable to find the words to express her feelings for him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for another kiss, their bodies intertwining in a sweet embrace. She couldn’t believe how much she craved him, how much she needed him.
"I love you, Addie," Lennox whispered against her lips. "I’ll always love you."
Adrienne couldn’t imagine anyone else making her feel this way. If soulmates do exist, perhaps Lennox was her soulmate. Someone who she entirely missed in her past life. Now that she’d found him, she knew she would wait for his return, no matter what.
Lennox’s hands gently cupped her face and touched her exposed skin as he kissed her again, as if he couldn’t get enough of her.
Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a sense of longing and sadness as she thought about their impending separation. But for now, all she wanted was to cherish every moment with him, to feel his love and passion, and to make every moment count.
