"Miss, you can’t use the bracelet. This is the same one we saw Camilla Yan holding when she left the mercenary shop!" Irina exclaimed once Camilla had left the estate.

Mother Wang covered her mouth in shock and looked at their young miss worriedly.

"What are they planning to do? Miss Addie is already disowned by her father. Why bother to scheme against her again?"

"Because I’m someone they need to get rid of before they could get their hands on my mother’s properties. They assumed that my mother would eventually die, hence, all her properties would be passed under my name. "How shameless." Mother Wang was seething in anger.

Adrienne lowered her cup and looked at Irina.

"Check the bracelet for me." She said, gesturing to the white box across her.

Irina stepped forward and pulled a pair of gloves from her pocket before taking the silver bracelet from the box. There wasn’t anything suspicious about the ornament and in fact, it looked delicate and elegant, fitting for a young woman like her young miss. It had a silvery flower with red crystal at the center of its chain.

However, when Irina turned to check its back, she spotted a hidden compartment inside. She was stunned in place before glancing at Adrienne in shock. Adrienne said nothing and waited for Irina to continue.

When Irina opened it, a white powdery substance poured down from it. She took a sample and gave it a slight sniff. She frowned and poured the cold tea Adrienne didn’t finish all over the white substance.

"What’s wrong?" Adrienne asked. She was observing Irina carefully. She knew about the bracelet having a secret compartment, but she had no idea what the substance was.

In her previous life, during an argument with Alistair, he accidentally knocked this bracelet from her wrist when he pulled her harshly. Only then she noticed that something came out from the bracelet but didn’t know what it was. Adrienne remembered Camilla giving her the bracelet before they attended the coming of age ceremony for a young miss that ended in disaster.

"It smells like baby powder, but it isn’t," Irina stated with irritation. "If the Jiang family has no qualms about giving you a drug like this, then I’m not surprised you are set on destroying them, Miss." She told Adrienne.

"What drug is it?" Mother Wang asked in alarm. "What would happen to Miss Addie if she happened to ingest or touch that drug?"
