Chapter 107: Seeking Trouble (3)

Waylen’s face color kept changing. Upon seeing the slight smile on Adrienne’s face, he became panic-stricken. Presently his expression was quite unsightly as he looked at his niece. Since Adrienne had found out his weakness, it was certain that she would use it against him.

"Take a seat, Uncle. Is this how you treat your guests?" Her lips curled up in a devilish smile.

"My Miss told you to take a seat. Do I need to force you down?" Uncle Shark eyed Waylen with a gruff voice.

Hunter furrowed his brows but said nothing as he stood beside his sister. Thinking that even their uncle was hiding a mistress had broadened his views. The men of the Jiang family were all fickle and womanizers. He wouldn’t be surprised if their second uncle also kept a mistress somewhere.

Waylen could on clench his fist but did what he was told. He sat across from Adrienne with a rigid form. He eyed his niece suspiciously. Her seventy percent features came from the Zhao family, however, this cunning behavior clearly came from his Jiang family. To think that his niece would be able to corner him like this left bitterness in his mouth.

"What business do you have with me, Adrienne?" He asked. The faster he knew of his niece’s intention, the faster he could devise a plan to retaliate.

Adrienne lowered her teacup on the glass table between them. She then crossed her legs lazily and regarded him with a mocking gaze.

"Uncle must have not known yet, but Father has recently placed a block on my finances to vent his anger on me. Uncle, do you think this is right? I’m his firstborn daughter, but he treated me worse than his lovechild. This one felt wronged. Since you are my elder, shouldn’t you also look after my welfare?"

Waylen Jiang almost puked blood upon hearing her words. He was so angry that the veins in his temple throbbed. Her words subtly implied that he should pay her to shut her mouth from divulging his affairs. It wasn’t like he didn’t have money, but he wasn’t as loaded as his older brother.

He was a senior university professor at a prestigious university in Jinling City. While the pay was decent, it was incomparable to the salary of executives like Lewis Jiang. The shares he had at Jiang Corporation were his main source of income, though, allowing him and his family to live comfortably.

"How much do you want for you to keep your mouth shut?" He gritted his teeth, feeling at a loss at that moment.

A child was crying from the bedroom, and Chantal looked at them before hesitating to leave.

Adrienne hummed, then glanced at Chantal Yao whose face twisted in agony and fear when she left. Waylen could sense his niece’s curiosity but didn’t dare to ask her how she discovered his affair. His relationship with Maryam was good, and he doted on her and their daughter so much that people wouldn’t suspect he was cheating on her.

Though he treated Ayla like a pearl in his hand, Maryam couldn’t give him a son after years of marriage. Ayla was already eighteen, and Maryam had reached the age where she could not conceive a child anymore. Chantal was a singer in a club he and his acquaintances frequently visited, and though they started out as friends, his affection for her grew into something else. Two years later, Chantal fell pregnant, finally fulfilling his life wish to have a son.

Did he regret it? Of course not. Waylen hadn’t felt this kind of thrill and excitement in a long time. It was just a pity he couldn’t watch his son’s daily growth, as the chances of being discovered by his wife would be higher - which would be dangerous for them.

However, now, of all people who would stumble upon this secret of his, why did it have to be Adrienne? Waylen found it suspicious, but what else could he do? The way Adrienne was looking at him was like a satisfied beast waiting for the right time to pounce on her prey.

Considering the loss his brother suffered from his daughter, Waylen knew that if he didn’t agree to her conditions, Adrienne would ruin his reputation and life! His reputation was at stake, and Ayla and his son’s future would be precarious. He couldn’t stop trepidation from filling his heart.

A young girl was trying to extort money from him, and he couldn’t do anything.

"One hundred thousand a month. This should be enough for a young girl like me. However, I’ll charge you 10,000 daily if you fail to settle your balance."

Waylen wanted to pounce on her and strangle Adrienne to death. Was she trying to push him to bankruptcy? One hundred thousand was a big amount of money, after all. He would need to figure out how to produce that money constantly.

"Uncle Shark will come here every 17th of the month. You should know what happens if you fail to pay or offend me. If anything were to happen to me, the evidence of your plagiarism and affair would immediately be known to the public." She said with an amused laugh.

Waylen thought that the only thing Adrienne knew was his affair, but for her to know even his deepest secret stunned him. If this secret were revealed, it would ruin his life and everyone around him. His anger continued to rise as he looked at his niece.

He looked at the two men accompanying her. Neither of them looked simple. One looked handsome and refined, but deadly, while the other was crass and brute. Adrienne had come prepared today. She wouldn’t have come if she knew she would lose today.

Waylen sneered at her, but Adrienne only smiled as if she couldn’t find fault in what she was doing. They were uncle and niece, yet she was blatantly extorting him like this. If others were to know, wouldn’t he become the laughingstock of society?
