The woman was quite beautiful. She was already in her late thirties, but her skin was smooth and unblemished. She had a black apron over her dress and looked at Adrienne curiously.

"Is there anything you need, Miss?" She asked with a smile.

Adrienne lips curled up and extended a hand to offer. "Hello, I’m Adrienne Jiang. I’m here to meet my cousin."

The woman’s face immediately lost its color as she looked at Adrienne with shock. She stumbled back, giving Uncle Shark the opportunity to open the door, letting his Miss inside. Adrienne stepped inside with Hunter following her closely. Her eyes swept around, taking in the surroundings.

"Uncle Waylen sure knows how to dote on you." She commented and took a seat on the couch as if she was the owner of the place.

Chantal Yao looked at Adrienne with fear. She was now fully aware of the identity of this young woman. Who hadn’t heard about the young miss of the Jiang family? Although her son was also a Jiang, Chantal couldn’t possibly reveal his identity to the public without earning the ire of Waylen’s legitimate wife, Maryam Fang.

"Y-you..." Chantal stuttered. "What do you want? Why are you here?"

She paid attention to Adrienne and couldn’t help feeling a pang of envy in her heart. The young woman before her was dressed in business attire, yet it couldn’t lessen her beauty. It was like the heavens had carefully and in great detail carved and refined each of them, each feature exceptionally matchless. Every movement was alluring and charming. However, her cold aura emanated around her. Her eyes were cold despite smiling.

Although Chantal had seen and met various beauties from her former profession, the young woman before her was otherworldly and out of everyone’s league. Despite the coldness emanating from her, it only added to her charm.

Adrienne hummed and gave her a good look. No wonder her uncle had fallen for such a woman. While her Aunt Maryam was delicate as a flower, the woman before her had a charm that could be revered as a ’seductress’.

"You are in no position to question me, Miss Yao. I do suggest that you call my uncle here at once for us to settle this matter amicably."

At that moment, Chantal felt as if all her will and courage seemed to no longer hold any subtance when she saw that pair of cold eyes looking at her. A person from the Jiang family had come and discovered her and her son’s existence, so how can Chantal pretend to be calm in Adrienne’s presence?

For her, Adrienne’s sudden visit was the most unfathomable thing to have happened. It would have been logical if Maryam Fang or Ayla Jiang appeared at her door, but why did she feel fear and uncertainty that it was the infamous young miss of the Jiang family that arrived today?

She swallowed the invisible lump in her throat and immediately pulled her phone from her apron’s pocket. Chantal knew she couldn’t deal with Adrienne, not when her son’s future and safety were at stake.

Hunter had taken the initiative to brew a cup of tea for his sister while Uncle Shark lounged near the floor-to-ceiling glass window in the living room, admiring the traffic on the road. The red and yellow light coming from the cars below indicated that the traffic jam was worsening as the clock hit five o’clock. They have been waiting for over two hours now and though Adrienne was waiting, there wasn’t a hint of impatience on her beautiful face.

Finally, someone was fiddling on the doorknob of the front door and Waylen Jiang rushed inside only to find his niece enjoying a cup of tea with a smile on her face. The color on his face turned from white to red then back to white. How did his niece end up at this secret place? No one from the Jiang family was even aware that he owned a condominium unit in this city.

"Ah, finally. I thought you’d never come, Uncle." Adrienne said with a mocking glint in her eyes. "Why don’t you take a seat so we can get down to business?"

Waylen was stunned as he looked at Adrienne, while she quietly returned his gaze. Under the light, her smile was gentle and looked tranquil, yet her eyes were deep and distant, almost as if she could see past his mask. Her gaze had a clarity and understanding of the situation they were in and Waylen suddenly felt that this wouldn’t end well for him.

How could he not be worried when Adrienne was here in his turf? His elder brother and his mistress had recently suffered a massive loss because of the young woman before him, but Waylen couldn’t understand why Adrienne would set her eyes on him now?

As he gave it a good thought, he suddenly froze when he remembered how Adrienne had cut off ties with his daughter recently, only giving Ayla a cold shoulder whenever she attempted to appease Adrienne. Did her daughter overstep the line and offended Adrienne somehow? Or was she targeting the rest of the Jiang family because of what happened to her mother?

"Uncle should have known. Regardless of what you do, you mustn’t leave anything that can be used against you behind. However, for you to have the guts to have a son with another woman, I suppose she and my dearest cousin are worth the trouble?"

Waylen looked at her completely baffled. "What do you want?"

Heavens, how could Rosemary Zhao, who was gentle and demure, give birth to such a daughter? What did Adrienne eat growing up for her to turn out like this?

Gone was the timid and pushover niece that everyone knew. Now, Waylen could only see a vengeful spirit before him. A person he could barely recognized.
