Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes-Chapter 288: Madwoman
After a brief silence, there was an explosion of furious voices.
"Ah, someone grab her for me!"
"Bitch, how dare you hit me? You’re dead today!"
The scene was chaotic.
Nancy Allen remained as calm as she was when she entered, the shattered bottom of the bottle in her hand turned into a sharp weapon.
Someone approached, but hadn’t made a move.
Nancy pointed the sharp bottle at President King’s carotid artery.
Blood streamed down President King’s head, the sharp glass pressed against his neck, instantly silencing his curses.
The room fell silent again for a moment.
People around shouted angrily: "What are you doing? Let go now!"
"She doesn’t dare! Just a woman, and in front of so many of us, can she really turn the tables?"
Listening to these taunts, Nancy pressed the bottle slightly downwards.
The sharp glass cut through flesh, blood oozed from his neck.
President King immediately shouted: "Shut up, do you want me dead?"
Someone muttered: "Damn, is she a crazy woman or what?"
A young man quickly left the private room to find the bar manager to resolve the situation.
The person behind this bar is of high status, so if anything really happens, they can handle it.
Nancy was indeed a bit deranged right now because she’d been drinking.
Alcohol impaired her easily, but her intoxication didn’t manifest as being incoherent or talking nonsense; it revealed the madness within her core.
Once, after drinking, she almost tormented the person who bullied Ava Wright to death.
At the moment, Nancy’s emotions were at a low point; encountering these ill-intentioned people naturally led her to handle the situation aggressively.
President King dared not move recklessly, nervously saying: "Beautiful, let me go. I won’t hold what you did against you, I won’t stop you, I’ll let you leave."
Nancy remained silent.
President King continued: "Or what do you want? Money? Or something else? I’ve got plenty. Loosen your grip and we can talk this out."
Nancy was still silent. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She wasn’t one to speak casually; earlier when stopped, she said two sentences in anger, which made her throat burn.
She didn’t care about the pain; she just didn’t want to say more to these scumbags.
Nancy held this man’s carotid artery at bay, prepared to walk out.
President King dared not make any reckless moves. As he saw Nancy moving to leave, he followed suit, continually signaling to others with the corners of his eyes.
Just as they were about to reach the door, President King suddenly stumbled forward, and as Nancy was about to push the glass forward, she was bumped into from the left side.
The threat before her was now farther away; Nancy frowned.
Her body, without seizing someone to intimidate them, couldn’t possibly resist these people.
Freed from danger, two men instantly stepped forward, twisting Nancy’s arms behind her back, confiscating the broken bottle.
Nancy’s combat instincts told her to evade, but her body couldn’t keep up, leaving her hand twisted helplessly.
President King approached, raising his blood-stained hand, about to slap Nancy’s face but stopped short, sneering: "Such a pretty face would be a pity to damage. I’ll show you what it means to wish you were dead."
Nancy did not struggle, as it was not the best time to act.
She customarily kept a small blade tucked in her leg; as long as her hands could move freely, if anyone dared come near her, she’d strike back.
Nancy had always been patient.
She was in a foul mood, wanting to vent, but she wouldn’t let herself fall into the hands of these disgusting people.
Just as President King maliciously extended his hand toward Nancy’s body, the private room door was pushed open.
The man who went out earlier shouted: "Mr. King, don’t worry, the bar owner is here."
After he shouted, the person behind stepped forward.
The sapphire stud on his ear shone brightly under the bar’s night neon lights.
The next thing everyone knew, the two grabbing Nancy were kicked away, and President King’s hand reaching for her was dislocated by another.
By the time people reacted, Nancy was already sheltered under Elijah Jefferson’s arm.
The informant was dumbfounded, murmuring: "Boss Jefferson, you... what do you mean?"
Elijah wasn’t in the mood to deal with these people; seeing the earlier scene, he was scared out of his wits.
Why was Nancy here? How did she end up in their grasp? What happened earlier?
He quickly asked: "Nancy, are you okay?"
Nancy looked up, realizing it was Elijah, her vigilance loosened slightly, but one hand lightly rested on the dagger on her leg as she shook her head.
President King was clutching his wrist, sweating profusely as he said: "Boss Jefferson, what do you mean by this? We’re just doing business, we haven’t offended you."
"Yeah, Boss Jefferson, we called you in to resolve the issue, you need to give us an explanation."
Elijah coldly scanned the surroundings, letting out a laugh: "Oh, an explanation? I’ve taken note of your families, I’ll personally approach your elders so you can explain it to me. You dare harm someone even I, Elijah Jefferson, wouldn’t put a hand on!"
Everyone’s faces turned tense; was this woman Elijah’s person?
Someone spoke uneasily: "Misunderstanding, Boss Jefferson, since she’s your person, you take her away. It’s all a misunderstanding."
This bar was owned by the Jefferson Estate; if trouble brewed, they could demand answers.
But if the woman belonged to Elijah, that was a different story; they couldn’t afford to provoke the Jeffersons.
Elijah’s eyes burned with fury and anxiety. If he hadn’t come here today, would Nancy have been in trouble?
Thinking about how these filthy hands had been on her, he couldn’t let it go.
Elijah said in a cold, fierce voice: "All of your families can wait for it!"
Finishing, not wanting to say more, he took Nancy out of the smoke-filled private room.
Nancy didn’t follow Elijah for long; she walked on her own toward the bar’s exit.
Elijah followed after: "Nancy, it’s so late, where are you going? Why are you here alone?"
Nancy didn’t bother to look for pen and paper, she spoke quietly: "You don’t need to worry about me, I’m just taking a walk."
Elijah still caught up: "How can I not worry about you? It’s too dangerous for you to be alone out here. Where is Godfery Shaw? I’ll contact him."
Elijah pulled out his phone.
Upon hearing Godfery Shaw’s name, Nancy immediately turned, snatching away Elijah’s phone, her voice rising: "Do not contact him."
The taste of blood lingered in her throat, she swallowed it back.
Elijah barely had time to be surprised that Nancy was speaking. He asked worriedly: "Nancy, what happened? Aren’t we friends? You don’t need to be guarded with me."
Nancy’s gaze shifted, suddenly remembering that box of straw dragonflies in the old town.
Elijah continued to reassure: "If you don’t want to contact Godfery Shaw, then we won’t. Whatever happened, tell me, I’ll help you."
Nancy’s gaze finally softened, she returned the phone to Elijah, murmuring almost inaudibly: "I just want to find a quiet place."
