Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 76: A vile plan
Inside the Bentley estates, Dominic stood before his desk, the report of one more failed mission in his hands.
He angrily threw the scroll on the ground before looking at the mission leader.
"What is all this? Why are we not receiving any money from the agricultural lands? Didn’t Father approve that we would take the collateral money and they won’t interfere in it?" Dominic asked.
The leader pressed his lips into a thin line.
"It’s not the former king who interfered, sir," The subordinate said.
He didn’t need to say much. He didn’t need to.
Dominic knew who it was.
Cyrus Valentino. The name burned on the edge of his tongue like acid.
For years, he had been trying to influence the council meeting and coaxing his father to strengthen the grounds.
He took the agricultural collateral money in the name of increasing his manpower, when in reality, he was increasing his force in the Bentley estate so that if one day people stood against him, he would have an army to face the world.
However, the agricultural money was taken away because of his brother’s son, Cyrus Valentino.
Dominic slammed his fist on the desk. He threw all the documents on the ground in fury.
His men—the most trusted and elite group of fighters in his team—stood there, not daring to speak before their boss, afraid of angering him more than he was.
Dominic looked at the blueprints of the land area they had under them before and closed his eyes for a brief second to calm himself.
Lately the damn nephew of his had been involving himself a lot in the Kingdom’s matters. He knew why it was happening. The King Trials were approaching, and they would decide the future King of the Werewolf kingdom.
Everything was backfiring lately.
He thought marrying him to the daughter of one species he hated the most would keep him busy. That was the reason he had urged his father to ask Cyrus to marry into the healer community for the leave treaty.
But things didn’t work out like he had thought.
Rather than hating the girl like he was supposed to, the damned man has become more watchful and observant of everything, especially when it comes to his useless wife, Amelia.
Cyrus was never supposed to care about that girl, but she was becoming the centre of his attention these days. And because of that, it made her the most useful and dangerous piece of this board game.
Dominic grabbed the blueprint he had been studying and slammed his dagger in the centre of it.
"The lunar ball is in three days," Dominic said, looking at the centre of the venue hall with a sharp gaze.
"It’s the perfect place for accidents, for a distraction, something unforgettable and worth writing history," He said.
One of his fighters stepped ahead.
"Should we target the council, sir? Or should we go behind the Northern Alphas? They are Cyrus’s guests this time, and the chances are, they will side with him. That would be easy if we start targeting any one of them and keep our observant eyes on him," Marlo said.
Dominic shook his head.
"No," He said, his eyes gleaming with evil thoughts.
"We don’t target any of them. Rather than them, we will target that one person Cyrus feels a duty to. His wife. His little wife, who is so-called the prodigy healer," the man smirked.
Patrick, about to enter his father’s room, stood at the door and deeply breathed when he heard those words.
With a shake of his head, he left without greeting his father.
He understood where his father was coming from. This throne had always been his dream, and he wanted to take it over, but it was demeaning.
His actions proved that he has little trust in his son.
Did he really not believe that he was capable of fighting against Cyrus when it came to the King trials? The thought alone filled Patrick with irritation.
"I want to give him something this time. As his uncle, it would be quite sad if I didn’t give him something on this lunar ball, right? Let me give him the most memorable night of his life," Dominic smiled.
At the same time, in another corner of the city, in the apothecary base of the black market, Hannah stood with Jessica, facing a cabinet of drugs and chemicals of all kinds.
The place was particularly known as the illegal seller of all kinds of toxic chemicals.
A man walked out from behind the door with a small bottle in his hand.
He extended his hand and placed the wrapped bottle in Jessica’s hands.
"Would this be enough? We are paying you quite a lot for this liquid, aren’t we?" Hannah asked, her brows furrowed.
Jessica narrowed her gaze at the familiar series of chemicals that she used to buy regularly but had stopped for some time. Her work was yet to be completed, and she needed that person a little more.
She turned and focused back on the man.
"The thing in your hand isn’t just any regular poison. It’s a substance with one of the highest values in the market. It will break the nervous system of the person completely, and whoever drinks it will vomit blood within ten minutes," The person paused.
"It’s a silent killer, mam. And the best part is that it perfectly matches the composition you gave to me," the person said.
"It means no one would be able to tell apart that the composition Amelia was working on and this poison weren’t related," Jessica smiled satisfactorily.
"All fingers will point at her," Hannah smiled at the thought of the upcoming victory she had been looking forward to for some time.
She still hasn’t forgotten the echo of the slap that Amelia made her hear before half of the University.
’Amelia, you bitch. You have smiled and enjoyed enough. Now I will see who will protect you when you poison none other than the former alpha king himself,’ Hannah said as she looked at the other bottle that had the poison’s antidote.
This was her plan to bring Amelia to hell’s bottom. At that time, she would save her from execution and then use her as a pawn for the rest of her life. The plan was simple and sleek in her eyes.
"How to use it?" Jessica asked.
The man explained how to use only a few drops if they didn’t want to poison the air, making everyone feel uneasy and suspect them.
Jessica places the stash of dollar bills on the table, her gaze lingering on the shelf of chemicals that had different drugs and pills.
"Do you need something, Mrs. Jessica?" The person asked.
Jessica looked at the familiar drug before clenching her fists and placing another set of dollar bills.
The man smirked. Just like he had thought, this drug was too addictive to let go of so easily.
Hannah looked at the blue pills in Jessica’s hand.
"What are these for, Mom?" The girl asked.
As soon as Jessica heard that word, her pupils dilated.
She grabbed Hannah’s hand and pulled her out of the base hurriedly.
"Have you lost your mind? Why would you call me mom suddenly?" Jessica asked, looking around to ensure no one saw them or heard her.
Hannan thinned her lips.
"Till when will I have to hide it, Mom? Just because you are not married to Dad, must you hide in the name of being a nanny? I am the elder daughter. I deserve Dad’s name more than Amelia! I deserve to call out my parents in public," Hannah said, her eyes turning red with unshed tears.
Hannah’s words made Jessica sigh.
Jessica looked at the pills in her hand and clenched her fists around the vial box.
That was the truth. She was Thames’s first and true love. If it wasn’t for the customs and everything, he wouldn’t have gotten married to Amelia’s mother. That bitch.
However, even if he married that vile woman, what did she get in return?
She was the one who gave birth first and got to love and live with Thames while that bitch was dead.
She was planning to kill all three of them, but who would’ve thought that this resilient devil’s pawn, Amelia, would survive that kind of poison?
The night was like a bitter memory etched in her heart, but it was useful in the end.
After all, Thames took Hannah as their first daughter, and Amelia became nothing more than a maid for her daughter.
The thought alone made Jessica smile, and she took a deep, calming breath before pulling her daughter close and hugging her softly.
"Soon, baby, soon. Once we make enough use of Amelia, everything will belong to us. Let me remind you, no matter what happens in the future, you must choose me if you have to choose between your dad and me. You will choose me, right?" Jessica asked.
Hannah nodded.
"It will always be you, Mom. I know that Dad doesn’t really consider us like his own. He even treats his own daughter Amelia like an abomination. That man isn’t trustworthy at all. If I hadn’t found out you were my mother, I didn’t know who to trust anymore," Hannah said.
"You can always trust me, Hannah," Jessica said with a smile.
