Chapter 63: Helplessness

It smelled terrible.

The things around her were messy, while she roamed in a dark place with no beginning or end.

And suddenly, when she thought she wasn’t alone, people surrounded her, their hands reaching out to claw at her skin.

Everything was a bloody mess, and Amelia struggled to escape the dream.

"Hey, Amelia," Someone shook her shoulder, and Amelia snapped back to reality, opening her eyes with a bit of surprise.

"The lecture has been over for a long time. Are you alright? You look quite exhausted," Ryan said, concern evident on his face.

Amelia gulped to wet her dry throat as the remnants of the weird dream she was having cleared from her head slowly.

"Umm...yeah, I am fine. Thanks for waking me up," Amelia said quickly, taking her bag and rushing out of the seat.

Her mark on the wrist was starting to ache, and she needed to be alone.

Ryan furrowed his brows at her weird reaction but didn’t say anything, wondering if the girl was still uneasy because of the party.

He didn’t follow her. Instead, he feted the books he would need to study the healer-related things. For some reason, he wondered if his interest in the same subject as hers could help him befriend her.

Amelia, who wasn’t looking where she was going as she kept running in the corridors, bumped into something, or should she say someone.

"I am so–" She was about to apologise when she noticed who it was.

The smirk on the person’s face was evidence that they deliberately bumped into her.

"What do you want?" Amelia asked, changing her tone.

"What do you think?" The girl asked.

"Look, I don’t have time for your games. I clarified it earlier, I am not going to act as a slave for you guys anymore. We don’t have any business —" Amelia started hastily since she could feel it in her body that she needed to be alone.

However, before she could finish her sentence, she felt a prickling sensation on her neck, and her vision blurred.

Someone injected something in her neck.

"What are you–" Amelia asked, her hand covering where she felt the itching.

Alexia smiled.

"I told you I would get even with you, didn’t I?" She asked before she grabbed her hand and started pulling her somewhere.

Amelia wasn’t unconscious; she knew what was happening around her, but she felt completely helpless for some reason.

Her limbs felt paralysed, like her mind couldn’t control them anymore, and she was rendered at Alexia’s mercy.

’You are not doing well. If my husband found out about it, he would ruin you,’ Amelia wanted to say, but couldn’t.

She kept following Alexia mindlessly and helplessly until they stopped.

"Do you know where we are?" Alexia’s expression was almost maniacal.

Amelia didn’t recognise the building. Based on its appearance and familiar pattern, it was definitely one of the University’s buildings, but she didn’t know which one it was.

Amelia took deep and heavy breaths to keep her eyes open.

"This should teach you a lesson not to raise your head before whom you can’t afford to mess with," Alexia said.

As soon as the girl finished speaking, around three boys on their way somewhere else stopped and looked at them with furrowed brows.

"Pack she-wolves? What are you guys doing here? Lost baby girl?" The boys chuckled.

Their words were like arrows, and realization dawned upon Amelia.

This wasn’t just any random building.

It was the building where the rogues studied. Because of their untamable nature, it was the exclusive building for this species to keep them away from the pack of wolves.

"It’s been a long time since I entered the University, and I have paid my respect to almost everyone. But I was yet to meet the rogues of the University. Here, I brought you guys a gift. You can enjoy her," Alexia smirked.

The boys looked at Amelia. Her soft features were pleasant to the eyes, and her healthy wheatish skin made them want to touch her.

"A present? Are you smuggling a Pack’s she-wolf to us for real?" One of the rogues asked.

He didn’t want to believe these people easily. It could be a trap to have them thrown out of the University. This won’t be the first time those pack members tried it because they hated studying on the same ground as them.

Alexia smiled.

"I know what you guys are worried about. But you don’t need to. Trust me, this girl can’t hurt a fly to save her life. Besides, she isn’t a pack she-wolf. She is a healer, a lantern, and I have brought her here because I want to teach her a lesson," Alexia revealed her intentions.

Alexis smiled knowingly before looking at Amelia.

"And you know what’s the best part of it? She can’t scream. She is helpless. The girl would lie there and take it all like a lifeless doll," Alexia grinned.

And then, without any warning, she fisted her hand around Amelia’s dress before bringing it down and ripping it off.

Tears of helplessness welled in Amelia’s eyes as she realised what was happening to her in broad daylight.

The rogues looked at her with lecherous eyes before they held Amelia’s hand and pulled her into an empty room where they were sure the teachers wouldn’t arrive to ruin their pleasure.

Seeing the rogues taking Amelia to a secluded room, Alexis followed them.

First, she wanted to make a video of her humiliation to see her getting what she deserved for humiliating her in the canteen. And second, because she knew that Hannah still had some good use for the girl and didn’t want the rogues to kill her for real.

"Do you want to join?" The rogues asked when they saw Alexia walking inside the room with them.

"Not at all. I am just going to shoot a video. And before you think it’s to threaten you, you guys can cover your faces. It’s her wretched face I need in this video," Alexia said.

The rogues chuckled at her.

"I thought only rogues were evil, but you pack wolves are no less. Then again, rogues come from the same people," one of the rogues said.

Alexia’s face twisted at his implication. The man was indirectly saying that people like her became evil rogues, and she didn’t like that.

"You know what? I don’t want it to happen anymore. I came here with good intentions toward you, but you guys don’t deserve that," Alexia said, walking to Amelia and grasping her hand, ready to pull her out of the room.

However, the rogue slapped her face before she could pull away, making her fall pitifully.

"Do you think this is some kind of joke? Will you come and go as you like?" He asked.

Their indication was clear. Now that they saw Amelia, they would do exactly what they thought to do.

"Now you are going to watch everything unfold, and if you make a sound, we won’t hesitate in tearing your clothes, too, " the same rogue threatened Alexia, and the girl finally realised what fear felt like.

Amelia’s heart trembled. Why was this happening to her? Just because she retaliated and took a stand for herself?

Tears of helplessness rolled from the corners of her eyes.
