Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 61: Drinking blood
Amelia looked at the wounded people in the pack, her eyes lingering on a crying woman longer than needed.
That woman reminded her of her past. How she had wailed in the past for her ruined life.
"What happened to her?" Amelia asked a random person.
"She lost her husband in the fire, who went inside to save the lives of three kids trapped under the door," the man said.
Amelia nodded in understanding.
"She is crying because she discovered the man wasn’t her husband. He had been living with her under the disguise of her husband and raping her daily in the name of love. She is crying because she is happy and finally feels free," The man said.
Amelia raised her brows, her gaze shifting back to the woman.
Would she have acted similarly if given another chance in the same life and hadn’t been reborn?
Amelia didn’t let it bother her much. She walked to the tents with wounded people, bringing as many herbs as possible in her briefcase.
The girl immediately got to work and started treating people.
Seeing her sister already arriving at the Sin Banned Pack, Hannah smirked. According to her, the girl was still in her control.
Hannah looked at her father and walked closer to him.
"It’s good that even though she has married the beast and is making decisions against us, she hasn’t forgotten that she is a healer. I am proud of her," Hannah said.
Thames, busy tying bandages around a little girl’s hand, followed his daughter’s line of sight and saw his younger daughter treating people.
Remembering the name in the article that stated her name and where it was decided the land wouldn’t be given to them, Thames’s gaze darkened, and he cursed under his breath.
"You are good to go," He told the little girl he was treating before walking to Amelia’s tent.
"So you still know your bloodline," The man said sarcastically.
Amelia, treating the man, paused for a brief second.
"I know who I am," She said.
She had no heart to keep coaxing her father, who hated her guts and was here to make her suffer, probably.
The only reason she arrived here was that every situation like this attack in which she could serve was an opportunity to sharpen her skills and have her name spread.
It was true that for now she was riding King Cyrus’s coat tails, but she did not intend to burden him. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
She was going to open her line of work soon, and for that, she needed more people to support her. That was why she was ready to work for free for now.
Her work would speak for her.
"How dare you show your face here among all the healers after what you did? Do you want them to mock me? That I gave birth to such a disgraceful brat that shouldn’t have been born?" Thames said.
His words stung, but Amelia forbade herself from feeling hurt.
Alpha Killian also heard Amelia had arrived from Joseph, and he walked to the girl.
His score with her for humiliation in the Ashborn pack was yet to be settled.
However, when he heard Thames’s words, he stopped.
It looked like he didn’t need to intervene; her father was already doing his work.
He scoffed.
It wasn’t like he wanted to hurt her. But he wanted to enjoy her humiliation a little for what she did.
"Are you ignoring me?" Thames asked, losing his patience.
"I am just doing my work, Mr. Thames," Amelia said.
Her words irked him.
Though he hated it when she used to call him ’dad’, hearing her call him ’Mr Thames’ was even more provocative.
"You!" The man walked to her and raised his hand, ready to strike her.
Alpha Killian’s pupils dilated, and he walked forward.
As soon as Thames brought his hand down, someone stopped it, and he looked at the person in surprise.
Amelia stared at her father with knitted brows as she held his hand in the air before it could touch her skin.
"How dare you hold my hand?" Thames jerked his hand away from hers as if he had touched filth and raised his hand to strike her face again.
Amelia stopped him again.
"We are not in the healer’s community. We are here to treat people who are suffering. Let’s not bring the family issues between professions. Let’s not disgrace ourselves before others," Amelia said.
Though Thames hated her in that second, she was right.
They needed to take care of critical patients first.
"I wish you were never born. If I knew you would be such a disgrace to me, I would’ve choked you to death myself," The man said before leaving.
Amelia nodded, taking in all the words, and a self-deprecating smile appeared on her face.
As her father left, her gaze met with Alpha Killian standing at some distance.
"Enjoyed the show?" She asked.
The mocking smile on her face shot Killian’s heart.
A sudden pang of guilt consumed him. She was here to treat his people, yet he couldn’t protect her. It was true that he wanted her to suffer, but those words...
"I didn’t want to speak before Uncle Thames and –" Killian started, but Amelia waved her hand dismissively.
"You are an Alpha. Stop fooling yourself. The reason you didn’t interfere or never did in the past was that you never felt bothered to do so," Amelia said, and she was about to turn to another patient when she remembered something.
"The person you claimed to be a beast and trying to manipulate me, always takes my side and protects me, no matter who he has to stand before," even death. Amelia didn’t add the last two words but scoffed at Killian.
Being scolded was one thing, but being compared to another man was completely different, and he hated it.
Since everything was happening near the borders, the man who watched everything unfold smirked.
It looks like he will have to deal with this useless father sooner. He thought before drinking the blood from the blood bag he was carrying. A little drop rolled down from the side of his mouth, dropping onto the tree branch, making his sharp canines even more lethal.
Sparrow, who had been spying on the princess and heard those words, also paused in his work as he made notes.
How could a father say such cruel words to their kid? He looked at the princess, who still smiled, leaving everything behind, and felt a little for the girl.
Their princess was so good. Despite suffering many things, she still smiled and encouraged everyone to do so. The man glared at Thames and suppressed the urge to shoot an arrow straight to his head.
As he wrote the entry to inform his King later, he suddenly smelled blood. It wasn’t fresh blood, like from the wound...it smelled different.
He looked around, his gaze lingering in a particular direction.
Why did it seem like someone was sitting there?
His pupils dilated when a man indeed leaned forward. And was he drinking blood?
A vampire?
Sparrow stood and rushed to see who it was, but the man was long gone.
