Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 53: Annoying alpha
Amelia walked to the University with a broad smile on her face.
Today was supposed to be her first day as Professor Kinsley’s pupil, and she was quite happy about it.
She hummed a vague tune.
However, the moon goddess didn’t like how happy she looked, which was probably why she encountered Alpha Killian early in the morning.
As soon as she saw the man, she spotted the corridor she could turn into before bumping into him.
She took out her phone and acted like she was busy scrolling through something before she turned into the corridor.
’Phew. That was a close call,’ Amelia said, but her relief was cut short when the guy called her name and she closed her eyes to calm the irritation that would be too obvious on her face.
"Amelia, wait up. I need to talk to you about something," Killian said.
Amelia wanted to pretend she didn’t hear him, but her class was at some distance, and the guy would catch up if he wanted to talk. Thus, it was useless to waste her energy on that.
"Yes, Alpha Killian?" Amelia forced a fake smile on her face.
The man paused as he looked at her expression.
She was smiling. It should’ve been a good sign, but for some reason, he could feel the lack of genuineness in her expression. Moreover, what bothered him was the lack of sparkle in her eyes, which she used to have whenever she looked at him.
"Well, there were a few things I wanted to say," Alpha Killian said.
Amelia hummed.
"Go ahead," she said.
"Is it true that you were the one who decided the land dispute?" Killian asked.
His brows narrowed as if he didn’t believe she could do something as atrocious as that.
Killian looked at Amelia in anticipation.
Last night, Hannah met him at the border of his pack and talked to him, and she was on the verge of tears.
She said she was worried about Amelia when he asked what bothered her. She didn’t seem to be in the right state of mind.
Hannah’s words confused Killian, and he asked what she was discussing.
That was when Hannah revealed how Amelia had deliberately used a topic for an assignment that Hannah had no idea about.
Amelia wanted to outshine her. And while it was bearable and understandable, she never expected her little sister would stab her in the back like this.
And if that wasn’t enough, she even decided against the healers in the land dispute, knowing very well how much they needed the land for the laboratory.
According to Hannah, Amelia was turning up against the healers, and it was all the work of that beast manipulating her.
Killian pressed his lips into a thin line.
"What do you want to hear exactly?" Amelia was calm.
She expected the lapdog to turn to her and question her decisions, but she didn’t know it would be the land matter.
From her experience, he should’ve been causing a ruckus about how she used the assignment against Hannah.
"Are you not going to take the credibility for what you did? And about that assignment, is that true that you deliberately did it?" Killian asked.
Amelia looked down before smiling, a genuine smile full of mockery this time.
"There it was," Amelia said, her tone full of ridicule as she looked at Killian.
Killian looked at Amelia’s strange expression and didn’t know why she reacted like that.
"What’s wrong with you, Amelia? You have changed so much after marrying that beast. Is he manipulating you into hating your loved ones? How can you turn against your people? They have fended for you for so many years, and –" Killian started, but Amelia leaned on the wall arrogantly.
He stopped speaking, and Amelia quirked her brows.
"Please continue. Why did you stop?" She asked.
Killian didn’t know what to say. These days, he felt like whenever he came to talk to her, he was talking to a wall instead.
"What has happened to you? You weren’t like this," Killian commented. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Amelia nodded.
He was right. She was not like this, but was she ever respected or taken seriously when she was exactly what they wanted her to be?
Amelia sighed and stood straight.
"Alpha Killian, you asked me so many questions. In return, I will ask you one question. Why do you think you have the right to speak to me in that accusing way?" Amelia paused and looked straight into his eyes, stepping ahead.
Her gaze raked between his eyes before she smirked.
"Let me add one more question. Why do you give yourself so much importance in my life, because I for sure don’t allow you to have that," she added.
The man stood frozen in his place.
He didn’t know what to say. He had never been humiliated like this. And to be offended by the person who used to vow loyalty and her immense, never-ending love to you, it’s different.
Hannah said Amelia was still head over heels for him, and he should talk to her. She acted tough because she was hurt and forced to marry the beast.
But why did it look like Amelia didn’t want to have any relationship with him?
"Amelia–" Killian started, but didn’t know how to continue.
With a sigh, he was about to say that Hannah had outdone him at it when he remembered her lapdog dialogue. He gritted his teeth.
Seeing him standing there like a fish out of the water, Amelia rolled her eyes inwardly.
"If you had done your research, you would’ve known that the land wasn’t given to werewolves but to soldier widows whose husbands died protecting both the communities. Do you still think it was a bad decision?" Amelia said as she looked at the time.
"And regarding the assignment, Hannah never told me what kind she would like. She asked me to bring one from my collection. Please check your facts before accusing me," She said.
Killian wanted to tell her that he wanted her now. That was the only way he felt he could have control over her. But before he could say it, Aaron and Ryan walked over.
"Hey, what are you doing here? The class is about to start," Aaron said before he placed his hand over her shoulders.
Amelia glared at the man before removing his hand from her shoulders.
"Don’t touch me like that. We are not close, and don’t forget I still hate you," Amelia scoffed.
Aaron feigned a hurt expression before he grinned mischievously.
"Well, I intend to win your heart, I mean your friendship, sooner or later, no matter how long it would take," Aaron said shamelessly, and Ryan chuckled at his words, earning a glare from Amelia.
The trio left with Aaron teasing Amelia in between, and Amelia snapped at him, making him chuckle even more.
Killian stood behind, watching the harmonious scene with weird feelings swirling in his heart.
He didn’t like it. He didn’t like how he wasn’t as crucial to Amelia as he used to be or how she was making more alpha friends. She wasn’t allowed to do that. She was his admirer and devotee and should have stayed loyal to him.
This wasn’t acceptable. Killian wondered, his gaze darkening with the sudden urge to get Amelia back.
As Amelia walked back into the class, secretly thankful to the triplet alphas because she didn’t want to deal with Killian for longer, she didn’t know that she not only entered the radar of Alpha Killian, but one more man who had been looking at her from the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity to meet her.
The man stood in the front building, his fist clenched around a piece of cloth, his gaze dark and mysterious.
"Amelia Everliegh, no matter where you run, you would come to me in the end. I would make sure it happens. Even the moon goddess won’t be able to take you away from me, let alone those admirers around you," The man smirked confidently before turning and leaving.
