Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 48: Announcement
To say Hannah was pissed would be an understatement.
Though her assignment was certified among the top-tier research by students and selected for the magazine entry, she couldn’t bear the fact that she ended up with the short end of the stick when it came to Amelia.
After returning from the infirmary, an excuse that she quickly used to save herself from humiliation, her friends filled her in on what had happened at the ceremony, and she had been fuming since.
She wanted to grab Amelia by hair and drag her back to the healers community so she could have her father punish that bitch.
Seeing her in pain, giving up on the spot, and learning from Professor Kinsley was the only thing that could satisfy her.
After the ceremony and lunch, Hannah walked to the Chemistry class and spotted Amelia seated near the window.
She was about to walk towards her when she saw the triplet brothers walking towards her.
The girl couldn’t help but grit her teeth and sit in the front row.
It was okay. She would avenge this later in the Lunar Ceremony.
"Amelia," Aaron called her.
The girl, busy listening to soft music because she was feeling content with the results, looked up and turned the music off.
"Yes?" She asked.
"It’s about...about..." Aaron hesitated.
Though Amelia forgave them, he was still guilty of what they did and planned to do to her. Besides, didn’t she say that she hated him?
Helplessness engulfed him, and Derrick pressed his lips into a thin line. After all, his image wasn’t that great before the girl either.
They looked at Ryan, who stood there nonchalantly.
"Aren’t you going to say anything?" Aaron asked Ryan.
After all, it was about their mom.
Ryan understood the signal and looked at the girl.
"It’s about your assignment, the one where you were assigned to heal the patients with paralysis... are you sure about it? If yes, can you help our mom?" Ryan didn’t beat around the bush and went straight to the point.
Amelia paused.
"I have tested it only on one patient, and the results regarding your mother may vary. I can only tell after looking at her," Amelia said honestly.
"If it’s about compensation. We will give you good money. It would be enough for your tuition fee. If you want more, we can cover up for you for the rest of your life," Aaron said.
Amelia didn’t say anything for some time. She looked at the three brothers, her face supported on her hand, before she smiled.
"I didn’t even mention compensation. I just don’t want to play with life. This is not a small matter. Besides, what I want is not money. You won’t be able to give it to me. I will do it for free, but as I said before, I need to see your mother and check her pulse before claiming anything," Amelia said.
Ryan and Derrick nodded in understanding.
Asking her to give a cure for their mother was like asking a doctor for a medicine for cancer without checking the reports on which stage it was.
"What do you need that we can’t afford? Are you looking down on us?" Aaron scrunched his brows.
What else could she expect from him? He was the most impulsive one.
"Loyalty as a friend. Unwavered," Amelia said.
Ryan raised his brows at her words.
Though they were quite powerful as triplet alphas of the Ashborn and no pack would dare to mess with them casually, they were ready to cover for her for the rest of her life. Shouldn’t she choose that, given how her relationship with her family didn’t seem stable, and she might need the money later?
"Just this?" Derrick asked, expressing his surprise.
Amelia nodded.
"Are you sure you don’t want any other fee?" He asked to confirm.
Amelia nodded again before she pulled out her notebook to prepare for the lecture as she saw the professor entering the class.
"This is the most expensive thing in the world. Not everyone can afford it," Amelia whispered with a smile before she signalled them to leave so she could concentrate on the lecture.
Aaron, Derrick, and Ryan sat in the adjacent row.
Aaron stole a glance at her, wondering if he really did something to piss off such an amazing person that she hated him so much.
While she was busy tackling her University life, an announcement was made on the official server of the werewolf community through the joint council.
The announcement was simple.
The disputed land between the healers and werewolves was decided to be given to the soldiers’ windows.
The decision caused chaos in both communities. For the first time, the decision didn’t have a seal from King Cyrus or King Grayson. The seal said one designation loud and clear.
By The Queen (King Cyrus’s Wife, approved by the former King and King Cyrus).
The signature alone made everyone gasp, bewilderedly.
Never in history had a she-wolf made such a substantial decision until she was the sole heir of the pack’s alpha, and even so, it was pretty rare.
When Dominic Bentley read the official announcement, he couldn’t control his anger and rushed to Grayson.
"How can you do this, Dad?" Dominic raised his voice.
King Grayson, sipping tea with Cyrus Valentino, raised his brows.
"I did what?" Grayson asked. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Though his demeanor was calm and collected, his dark gaze indicated he didn’t like the tone his son used to talk to him, and Dominic cleared his throat.
He didn’t want to lash out before Cyrus, not because he feared the guy’s retaliation, but because he didn’t wish Cyrus to find any loophole in his words and use it against them.
"This decision. How can you let a girl without proper training make such a heavy decision that concerns everyone? It wasn’t a small piece of land either. We are talking about acres of land," Dominic said.
King Grayson leaned back in his seat before he observed his son and motioned for him to sit in the seat.
The former king asked his subordinate to pour a cup of tea for his son.
"Are you unhappy that this land wasn’t given to the widows or that I allowed Amelia Everleigh to make this decision?" Grayson asked.
Dominic paused.
It was a trick question.
If he agreed with the soldiers’ part, it would only make him less empathetic, and all his image-building efforts would suffer. If he said yes to Amelia’s part, he would appear an orthodox who didn’t want a female to make a decision.
And if by any chance he said that it was because she was Cyrus’s voice, it would make him look competitive in a way he didn’t care about people.
Dominic clenched his fists under the table.
"What I am saying is that the signature should’ve everyone’s name rather than just the mention of the queen," Dominic changed his tone and words dejectedly.
This was one thing he hated about his brother Sebastian, too. He was too much like their father, who knew how to make someone question their words.
"That shouldn’t be a problem. Everyone knows that no decision is made and finalised without my approval," Grayson sipped his tea, and Dominic smiled before nodding.
"Right. I was overthinking," He said before excusing himself in the name of remembering some work.
Cyrus saw his uncle leaving and, for some reason, felt that his uncle wouldn’t let go of this matter so easily.
He excused himself after some time.
"I want someone to keep an eye on Princess," Cyrus said.
Fabian, writing down the notes about the meeting earlier and sorting them, raised his head with furrowed brows.
"Isn’t Sparrow already spying, sir? Did something happen? Is he not doing a good job?" The subordinate asked.
Cyrus didn’t say anything for some time. He remembered when he was sitting with his grandfather earlier, Sparrow had sent him a couple of photos from the ceremony and a small video.
Though the video was blurred through multiplayer windows, it captured one thing perfectly, and it was Princess’s passion for her work.
The way Amelia was explaining everything with that smile on her face, the way she was radiating, proud of herself, he couldn’t help but praise her.
The video didn’t capture her entire speech, but it surely gave him an idea of what her assignment was about.
Of course, Miss Quinn had informed him about how the Princess was working hard inside the room with papers scattered all around.
That was one reason he didn’t return to the room, even when he was in the palace. He asked his people to tell her he wasn’t in the palace so she wouldn’t feel guilty.
In reality, he didn’t want to disturb her work.
Now that he looked back at what he did, his brows furrowed.
"Sir, should I ask another spy to take over Sparrow and put the man to another task?" Fabian asked again to confirm.
Cyrus sighed, snapping out of his thoughts before shaking his head.
"I meant to say that that Bentley might try to attack or corner Amelia. Keep a lookout for her," Cyrus said.
Fabian understood his words and immediately messaged Goldy to deploy the team.
Cyrus sat inside the car to return to the palace,
