Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family-Chapter 517: Report to the Daily Metro
Chapter 517: Report to the Daily Metro
One of the head Editors of the Daily Metro sat at his desk and grabbed his short pepper hair with such force and grip that one would think he wanted to go bald before he turned the age of forty.
His head was currently filled with numerous thoughts, alarm bells, and shouting as he tried to keep up with the insane schedule they had today.
Knock knock knock!
He turned to the door with a glare. He told his people not to bother him once he was inside.
"What is it?" he asked grumpily.
His secretary peeked out of his door and meekly showed a gentle smile.
"Umm...siir Cronk, There’s a Jimmy here to see you about a company rank upgrade—"
Before she even finished her sentence, Cronk had already waved her off. He didn’t have time to go through all the hoops of a rank upgrade at this moment.
After all, it would be an understatement to say that the Daily Metro was currently experiencing an extreme rush to push out newspapers as fast as possible as if their very life depended on it.
Today was just too eventful for them to catch up.
Early in the morning, Cronk was awoken by one of his informants that the Duchess was currently embroiled in something big. As a journalist and an editor for a newspaper company, of course he was going to try and be the first one to cover this story.
Unfortunately though, the Duchess’ security was far too strict for them to get any information. Because of this, Cronk was up very early in the morning, having not even slept a single hour trying to wait for more information.
However, that information only came when the sun was already peeking out of the clouds and the day had fully started.
After the day started, the Duchess finally took off the illusion curtain that covered her castle and finally allowed reporters from the Daily Metro to learn about the sudden change in the auction schedule.
And just like most companies who only heard about this news right after they just awakened, he and the entire Daily Metro rushed to get out an article as fast as possible.
Sleep-deprived and on a time limit, Cronk forced his journalists to write articles upon articles covering this story. He wanted to find out everything before writing the front-page news that would be sent out throughout Metropolis.
And although all of them were rushed, somehow, they were able to make a decent enough newspaper article regarding this day.
However, just when Cronk thought it was over, he was suddenly informed that a new development took place in the Entertainment District.
In the midst of the upcoming auction, the tourists, and everything that came with it, the royal twins and their children decided to go out of their castle and visit an unknown establishment in a far-off district.
And that wasn’t all. There were rumors that they drank some unknown liquid refreshment that made them burp out loud, which some would say was unbecoming of someone from their stature. Yet, from what he could tell, there were only positive reactions from it.
This was almost front-page news worthy!
Cronk knew that there was more to this story that people didn’t know about. The royal twins didn’t just stumble upon this thing called ’RD Soda’. It was their sole purpose in coming to the Entertainment District. The fact that they went back to their castle after having a drink was proof of that.
This meant that the one who owned that Soda had a pre-existing relationship with the royals!
However, when they tried to find out more about this, they couldn’t find anything about a permit for this soda.
Could this be another case of automatic approval like those vehicles? Cronk thought, not knowing that both were from the same company.
"Sir! The guy is insisting that he needs to see you," his secretary peeked back inside.
"Tell him I’m sorry, but I can’t give him any time to talk unless he has some kind of information about the soda."
The secretary opened the door, allowing Cronk to see Jimmy sitting outside. "Sir, he says that he knows all about the soda." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Cronk stood up, his cigar falling out of his hands. "Send him here!"
Jimmy immediately walked inside, carrying a bunch of parchment paper at his side.
"You know about this RD Soda?" Cronk asked, readying his quill and ink.
Now that Jimmy was closer, Cronk realized that he had seen this guy before.
"Wait. Weren’t you the guy who requested a company upgrade of an unknown company from the Kings region?"
He remembered he turned down Jimmy because the articles he wrote about this ’Reborn’ company sounded far too far-fetched. Not only that, but in his opinion, success in the Kings region didn’t count.
"Yep. That’s me," Jimmy nodded. "That’s the reason why I wanted to speak with you. I’m here to report that the Reborn company has shown all the criteria to be upgraded in their rankings. Here’s the proof."
Jimmy slid the proof of sales to Cronk’s desk.
The pepper-haired man lit up another cigar before he began skimming the papers.
His eyes widened as he realized what he was seeing.
"The Reborn company owns the RD Soda?!"
Cronk didn’t wait for an answer as he began scanning the page before his eyes ultimately landed at the very bottom.
His jaws slacked, with his newly lit cigar dropping to the floor.
"Ten...ten thousand sales?!?!" Cronk sputtered out. He thought he was imagining a few zeroes in the number.
But it was real.
Cronk immediately ran out of his office and gestured for his secretary to come. "Find out how much the Pyramidic Cuisine got in sales during the day."
Jimmy turned around, still sitting in his chair, and reported the number.
"8,231."
The secretary looked through her papers before eventually looking back at Jimmy in surprise. "Yes, sir. It had 8,231 sales. He’s right."
Cronk got back in his office and sat back down in his chair, completely stunned.
An unknown company beat a restaurant from one of the Rising Six. And not just anyone. It was Beau, who had both the strength and intellect to eventually lead the Pyramidic Cuisine to the Major Factions.
"So? Can we get the ranking officialized now?" Jimmy asked.
Cronk was still busy digesting the information, but Jimmy didn’t have the time to wait. The auction was about to occur in an hour!
"Right, right," Cronk said, his hands searching for something in his very cluttered desk. He eventually found the special ink that he needed.
Using this magical ink, he wrote down a few words in the paper and signed it with his own blood.
"There. Congratulations. The Reborn company is now ranked 399th in the Golden 500."
Jimmy smiled as he received the paper. He wanted to celebrate, but he knew that he needed to give this paper to Michael. This was the proof he needed to be let inside the auction.
And just before Jimmy got out of the door, Cronk called out to him.
"Wait. Is the Reborn company participating in the auction?" he asked.
Jimmy nodded, before rushing out of the Daily Metro and back to Michael.
