Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family-Chapter 1066: Otherworldly softeware update
The Software update is finally complete!
Michael wasn’t expecting the update to finish so soon, and on such a random day too!
"The reason why I wanted to dedicate more GodForge pieces to our non-combatants is simply because they are the path to our true progression in the world, as seen by the large impact of the Mobius Factory," argued Castelle, as she reasoned to everybody about her proposed Reborn company Sand Dollar expenditure.
But Michael wasn’t quite in the mood to listen in on their conversation. Although it was important, he knew that this was even more critical.
{The Software Update has completed. Please find an appropriate location for you to sleep. Downloading the software will require a reboot of your entire body.}
"Boss Michael! BU TO TO! Please tell Miss Castelle that we’ll need GodForge pieces to advance our next batch of trainees!"
Michael immediately stood up, shocking everyone in the room.
"Everyone, I put Castelle in the CEO position for a reason. I trust that whatever she’ll do is for the benefit of Reborn and everyone as a whole. So, please trust her too."
With those words, everyone stayed silent, and the Shadow Orcs eventually nodded in resignation.
"Now, I’ll have to leave the meeting early. I’m sure all of you could handle things without me," he said, before excusing himself out of the room.
Once he was out, he immediately teleported back to his room in the Nation of Reborn.
Then, he had his Unity Clones gather around him like a bunch of security guards. They were his strongest allies, so they could definitely protect him while he was unconscious for whoever many hours this software update would take.
Once he was sure about his proper preparations, he laid down on his bed and interacted with ChatJK5’s interface.
[Initiate Software Update?]
Yes.
As soon as he said that, he suddenly felt the whole around him blur as if he was suddenly yanked away from this part of reality, all the way over the skies, the heavens, and the stars. He saw quasars, galaxies, and even black holes pass him by like they were a passing view from a train.
It looked like he was pulled into the end of eternity itself!
What the?
This was definitely different from his previous software updates. Back then, everything happened while he was unconscious. He’d just wake up, and he would be greeted with a new, better, and more evolved ChatJK software.
But this time, it seemed that there was audience participation involved.
Am I dreaming?
All around him was darkness, with a few constellations of stars littered around him.
"Hello?"
He shouted to the top of his lungs, though it seemed that he didn’t have any in this dream. He was simply a disembodied soul, travelling through a different dimension entirely.
Then, the world around him blurred once again, before he was suddenly face to face with a giant, flaming ball of fire in front of him.
Its light was the brightest thing he’d ever seen. And if he had a real body, he had no doubt that even Nascent Spirit cultivators would find it hard to stare directly at it without burning their eyes.
After all, it was a star. A flaming gas giant.
{...sor...}
An otherworldly voice called out to him, startling him. It wasn’t ChatJK5. This voice seemed like the amalgamation of all kinds of voices: young, old, beast, and angel.
"Hello?"
{...sor... you have... advanced... nearer... Nascent Spirit... }
The voice was broken, as if he was receiving a radio message from a place that had almost no tinge of a signal.
{...teach... you... su.. sor... }
He struggled to piece together the pieces of words he could understand. There seemed to be something that this star wanted to tell him. Or rather, teach him.
Yes, he guessed that this voice came from the white sun in front of him. Its flames flared with each utterance of a word, as if it used its internal explosive fire to create that cacophonous voice.
It seemed to have beckoned him for something important.
"Teach me what?"
{History... future... GodForge pieces...}
Michael’s eyes widened. Was this heavenly body going to teach him the real story about the GodForge pieces?
He waited for the white sun to continue its story, but instead, he was met with nothing but silence.
"I thought you were going to teach me about it? Why’d you go silent now?!"
The white sun remained as unbothered as it was before.
{follow... instruction...}
And with those words, Michael suddenly felt the world around him stretch towards infinity as he was pulled back and away from the white sun, returning him back to his own body.
He jerked awake, finding himself back in his bed with the Unity Clones watching him like a hawk.
"What... was that?"
It said something about following something, and teaching him something, but in the end, the white sun neither did any of that.
What the hell!
What was the point of that even? He immediately laid back down in his bed in an attempt to go back to that place and reprimand the white sun for tantalizing him with such mysterious words. But it was to no avail.
Resigned, he sighed. The bratty goddess was easier to deal with. At least with her, she could speak to him like a normal person.
He had no reason to believe that the white sun wasn’t a deity as well. Who else could pull his own soul away from his body and transfer him to the other end of the universe?
It knew something about the GodForge pieces... is it...
There was only one other deity that he knew existed in this world. And that was none other than Gaia, or as she was commonly known now, the Iron Maiden.
It made sense. She inexplicably appeared as his Diva the first time he awakened as a Maugnetic. It’s not far-fetched to think that he was linked with her.
And the last time he saw her, she ascended into the skies and into outer space. Perhaps, she became a white sun.
Still, all of that was conjecture.
{Software update complete.}
