"Sign a contract?" Isak seemed afraid just having to ask that question.

"Yes, just a simple contract to make sure he doesn't go haywire and attack me when I least expect it."

Dorian moved the Prince closer.

"I already have the contract down if that is what you're worried about. All it contains is that your father will not raise a single finger against me; that is all. Sounds reasonable enough, doesn't it?"

"I-I guess so."

"I mean, you already know my secret. You know I am the Dragon Monarch. So it's really either I kill you and your entire family, or you do this so it can be legal."

With his face pale with fear, Isak nodded several times, hinting that he was willing to do everything Dorian had just told him.

"Very good. You're actually pretty reasonable."

Dorian then reached into his pockets and pulled out the contract.

He had already planned to visit the King anyway and have him sign it; this was just a good, less stressful way for him.

Once the contract was handed to him, Isak took hold of it.

He initially thought of opening it right then and there, but he stopped when he suddenly noticed Dorian was staring hard into his soul.

"Do you want to read it right now?" Dorian asked.

Isak froze once more, the fear already seeping back onto his face.

He didn't give a response, but he knew in that moment that it would be better if he didn't open the contract.

So, he closed it even more and placed it in his inner pocket.

Almost immediately, Dorian smiled at him, acknowledging the action.

Elizabeth, who had been watching the entire time, was deeply in shock.

Not just at the fact her strong brother who feared no one but the King was suddenly tame and obedient, but also due to the fact that Dorian had so easily used that very fear to manipulate and control Isak.

Judging from the looks on everyone's face, Elizabeth figured it had to be something that occurred a lot.

If she wasn't afraid of the man called the Dragon Monarch before, she definitely was in that moment.

"It's ready. They are waiting for your order."

Ishtar finally showed up, slowly walking toward Dorian with Seraphina right beside her.

Dorian took his time to look far ahead, and it was just as she had said; the machine had been well placed and arranged.

Two carriages were already stationed at the front of the deactivated portal, waiting to be switched on so they could pass through it.

Since they didn't want to risk having a human die from the first usage, they decided to use Diggy's clone to pull the empty carriage.

'I guess it's about that time.'

Dorian paused and looked toward the glowing runes in front of him.

[Chances of this project being successful is 90%]

'10% is still a risk.'

He then looked at his wives. And the countless workers waiting for him to give the order.

Just like him, they had been working day in and day out. As such, they were just as excited to see the extent of their hard work.

"Start the machine."

Ishtar and Seraphina smiled. Exactly what they were expecting to hear from him.

One of the workers who was nearby at the time immediately turned around and yelled at the top of his lungs.

"His Grace has ordered to start the machine!!!"

One by one they began to spread the news to one another, and before they knew it, everyone had stationed themselves, ready to see how the project would move on.

Dorian still chose to remain on the rock, and his wives decided not to leave his side either.

As for the Prince and his sister, they too watched from afar, but they had even more curiosity than Dorian and his people did.

"Starting the portal."

One of the workers, anticipating the command, moved swiftly to the power grid. With a practiced motion, they inserted the large, pulsing magic crystal into its designated socket.

A low, resonant hum immediately filled the cavernous space as the crystal began to discharge its immense energy.

This raw magical power was instantly converted into a controlled flow of electricity, which surged through thick cables leading toward the two massive towers flanking the deactivated portal.

These towers, acting as powerful energy regulators, absorbed the turbulent flow, stabilizing and aiming the energy output directly at the dormant portal structure.

With a crackle and a sudden rush of air, the portal sprang to life.

It wasn't a flash of light but rather a sudden, dark swirl of concentrated energy—a void that seemed to drink the light around it, marking the threshold to another location.

The moment the portal stabilized, the clone of Diggy, harnessed to the empty carriage, was given the mental command.

The small construct strained, pulling the carriage forward, and vanished seamlessly into the dark aperture.

A collective gasp echoed among the onlookers. The carriage had successfully passed through.

Moments later, just as swiftly as it had vanished, Diggy's clone and the carriage reappeared in the initial portal, stepping back into the cavern.

The automatic connection had worked flawlessly, creating a two-way conduit between the two remote points. The carriage was slightly dusted with soil from the far side of the continent, proving its successful passage.

But it wasn't just that.

Another Diggy, one that Dorian had placed at the other side of the country, toward the border in the City of Hope, where the same machine had been built, was now riding in the carriage as well. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

A wave of joyous cheers erupted from the workers. Their hard work had paid off.

The project was a success.

Dorian had a proud look on his face, a tad different from the smile his wives had, knowing yet another project had been completed. Yet another idea brought to the world.

As Doriam watched the workers celebrate, he could not help but have a warm feeling in his chest. At the same time, he could already imagine the loads of money he could get from all the foreign trades, and that was enough to put a smile on his face.
