Chapter 241: Project.

Later that morning, after revising the plan over and over, the girls finally decided to head out to the project site and carry out the plan Dorian had already laid out for them.

Upon reaching there, Seraphina and Ishtar were shocked to see that most of the workers had already begun working on the project, just as they were supposed to.

Many of them were lined up at the center of the field, dressed in their uniforms and standing in such a state that one would have thought they were heading to war.

Seeing this, the two women could not help but feel even more motivated at the thought of it.

So, they began working on the project.

They started with the first phase, which was building the highly condensed mechanism called the grid, meant to transfer electricity to every other project they were going to build on the site.

And thus, it began.

It took a couple of hours for everything to truly take shape. Towers could be seen from afar, stretching tall as though threatening to reach the sky.

This particular sector was being monitored by Seraphina herself, seeing as most of the construction crew felt safer if she was the one leading them, especially since their main leader, Gatty, had gone to the City of Hope to start the rest of the project there.

In less than a couple of hours, the towers had been stretched to the sky, and the grid buried underground, ready to be used as a source of energy for the massive transportation network.

These towers were to act as regulators, a place where the energy could be shot down, diverted, and even increased, depending on the situation they were facing in that moment.

Building the towers took them all the way until the sun went down and the moon had started to shine its light on the workers.

...

Meanwhile, inside the tent, not too far away from where all the construction was taking place.

Dorian was still sleeping on the ground where Ishtar and Seraphina had left him.

Maria, seeing as she was told to remain there and not go anywhere, was busy playing with Diggy on the table, while Flare chose to sleep by its master’s side instead.

Without further ado, Dorian finally woke up from his deep sleep.

As soon as his eyes fluttered open, the first thing he did was sit upright, clutching the side of his face as his eyes widened in confusion.

’How long was I asleep for?’

Those were the first words that left his lips.

[Raphael has determined you were asleep for less than two days.]

A look of relief somewhat played on Dorian’s mind.

He had assumed he was asleep for years, since for the most part, it did feel like that for the first few seconds after he opened his eyes.

’Good, just one day behind. I can still catch up if I make them work overtime.’

Something felt wrong.

He was being watched.

Dorian quickly turned his gaze to the side, where he would then see Maria, seated on top of the table, holding Diggy in her arms while she had a smile on her face.

"Good evening, My Lord. Did you sleep well?" Maria wore such an alluring smile on her face that it seemed like she was trying to seduce him.

Dorian felt somewhat embarrassed.

"Why didn’t you say anything if you were there all this time?"

"You seemed like you were thinking about something, so I didn’t want to disturb you."

Dorian sighed.

"Of course."

Standing to his feet, the first thing he did was massage his shoulders a bit. He felt that the stress he had gotten from using the God Aura had vanished already, and instead, he felt refreshed, like a new man just overflowing with raw energy.

"So, where is Ishtar? I could have sworn I told her to remain in this room." He slowly looked around, trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of her.

Of course, all he saw were the empty sacks and the working table at the back of the room.

Maria, before answering him, stepped down from the chair, carrying Diggy in one hand, slowly walking toward Dorian.

"They are at the site," she answered.

Dorian seemed a bit confused.

"Site?"

"Yes. Since you were asleep, they had to supervise the entire building process by themselves so it doesn’t get delayed and so you don’t have a lot of work on your desk when you finally wake up."

He blinked for a while.

With the same breath, he looked toward the window not too far from where he was, noticing that the moon was out, which also meant it was nighttime.

’Why are they still out by this time?’

He turned around almost immediately, already planning on leaving the room so he could go look for them.

As soon as Dorian exited the door, Maria didn’t waste a single second before she herself followed right behind him.

Upon reaching outside the room, the first thing Dorian noticed were the two huge towers he could spot despite being somewhat far away.

’...’

Dorian was genuinely speechless, realizing they might have actually done it all themselves without needing his help.

He also knew Maria was behind him trying to catch up as well.

In that moment, Dorian was more than excited to see exactly what the team had cooked up without him being there.

Grabbing Maria’s hand, he walked as fast as he could, each step taking him even closer to the main site.

...

After a while, Dorian appeared at the site, noticing all the workers were etched already working on their own project in different groups, just like he would have done it.

From a distance, as he watched, a huge smile appeared on his face, one filled with adoration and pride.

They were doing it. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

They were building the entire transportation system, using just the blueprint he provided them with.

"Ah—Lord Dorian is here!"

One of the workers, carrying a large metal object on his shoulder, shouted the moment he spotted him.

His voice immediately called the attention of the rest of the workers.
