Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 527: Is He Seeking Revenge Against Her?
Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Is He Seeking Revenge Against Her?
He stood there in a daze at the doorway for quite a while until he heard familiar footsteps. Suddenly, he looked up and saw a man in sportswear.
Brandon Piers also looked at Abigail.
The air froze for a moment.
Abigail wanted to say something, but her throat was dry. The images of the man being intimate with another woman and the words "overnight stay" repeatedly flashed in her mind.
The words became stuck in her throat, and even standing in front of him seemed like a difficult task.
So when Brandon was just about to speak, Abigail suddenly stepped forward and walked toward her room.
Brandon opened his mouth, then curled his lips in a self-mocking smile. He had just spent a night out and hadn’t done anything to betray her. And her? She almost ended up in bed with Jeffrey Foster, and now she had a bigger temper than he did?
Did she really think that the young master of the Piers family was easy to bully?
Turning around, Brandon decided not to check on Teddy and went straight to the gym.
Abigail lay on the bed with her mind in turmoil. She had gone to bed late last night and hadn’t slept well, feeling particularly exhausted. Yet, lying on the bed, she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
Her mind was restless as she opened her phone to search for news about the man spending the night at the actress’s house. But no matter how much she searched, she couldn’t find anything.
She then searched for the actress herself. This time, she found plenty of news about her, but the once highly popular actress now seemed to have been suddenly hidden away, with very few news articles about her.
She finally found the actress’s Twitter and checked her recent status.
After looking at a few photos, Abigail reluctantly admitted that the actress was indeed beautiful. From her Twitter content, she could tell she was an ambitious and hardworking girl.
Her body was toned, her face delicate and beautiful, flawless.
Abigail let out a long sigh.
She didn’t deny that Brandon had feelings for her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have cleaned up the mess so thoroughly after making a mistake.
She was also willing to believe that it wasn’t his original intention. It might just have been the actress clinging to him, even with promotional aims. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dealt with the news so quickly, suppressing all the actress’s popularity to the point where she might be blacklisted in the future.
But finding so many reasons couldn’t change one thing. It had already happened.
Betrayal had already occurred, even if it didn’t touch his heart.
In her not-so-long and not-so-short life, she had only had feelings for two people. One might have wanted her dead, and the other destroyed all her dreams of love.
Abigail thought Jeffrey Foster was enough to make her lose hope. But now, she realized that Brandon Piers hurt her more than death.
The depth of feelings never related to the length of time.
Maybe because she’d never had Jeffrey Foster, her pain and disappointment could be repaired.
But with Brandon, it was different. She had summoned the courage to confess her feelings and received a response. She had tasted the sweetness of love and was full of expectations for their future.
But now, Abigail only felt pathetic and stupid, doing everything she could to please the man and seek his forgiveness, almost insulted by him, only to ask for his forgiveness in the end. How ridiculous.
The Abigail who painstakingly cooked for Brandon, the shameless Abigail who crawled into his bed waiting for him to return, was just a joke when he balanced his heart by finding another woman, a pathetic and sad joke.
Was he doing it to get back at her?
Otherwise, why?
Or maybe it was just a misunderstanding?
Unfortunately, she had used up all her courage last night and didn’t even have the impulse to ask him again.
Abigail prided herself on being smart, but now she felt like one of the countless ordinary people who became foolish and banal because of love.
It was unclear how long she tossed and turned on the bed before she drowsily fell asleep.
When she woke up, it was already evening. Abigail got up in a daze, looking at the dim room, and didn’t know where she was for a moment.
Her throat was dry and sore from sleep. She instinctively reached out for the water she always kept by her dorm bed but couldn’t find it even after searching for a long time. After sitting dazed for a while, she remembered she was no longer Abigail, and this was not the bed for her temporary rest at Sincere Hospital.
This was Moon Lake Manor, and she was Brandon Piers’s fiancée.
Yesterday, just thinking about this identity made her feel sweet. But today, it left a bitter taste.
After sitting still for a long time, Abigail finally dragged herself up, tidied herself a little, and left the room. The second floor was exceptionally quiet.
However, shortly after she came out, Housekeeper Piers appeared from somewhere. "Young madam, you’re awake. I’ll have someone prepare dinner for you."
Abigail nodded. "Where’s Teddy?"
"Oh, he should be on the third floor. You eat first." Housekeeper Piers, instructed by the young master to take care of Abigail once she woke up, naturally didn’t dare be negligent.
She hadn’t eaten much in the morning, but Abigail didn’t feel hungry. Not wanting to worry Housekeeper Piers, she nodded and went to the dining room first.
After sitting down, she saw the empty chair opposite her. She wanted to ask if Brandon had eaten, but then she thought that he had eaten without waking her up, so asking now would only make her seem overly sentimental.
She laughed at herself, then lowered her head to eat the food in front of her. Having slept all afternoon, Abigail felt lethargic and didn’t really know what she was eating. The taste seemed the same, so she wiped her lips and had the servants clean up after eating only a little.
The head chef, who had been worried since seeing the leftovers from the previous evening, had worked hard all afternoon to try to win back the hearts of the young master and young madam.
Unfortunately, first the young master ate only a little and sent it back, and then the young madam did the same. Did this mean he should be replaced?
The kitchen atmosphere grew worse than it had been in the morning.
After eating just a little, Abigail went up to the third floor. Unlike the quiet first and second floors, as soon as she reached the third floor, she heard the laughter of Teddy and Tate.
Abigail hesitated for a moment and followed the sound to the gym. She saw Teddy and Tate on the yoga mat she used, while Brandon was working out on the treadmill.
Tate was looking at a pop-up book, and Teddy had a cloth book that made sounds when squeezed.
Brandon occasionally looked over at Teddy.
The little guy seemed to really like his dad. Every time Brandon looked at him, Teddy squinted his eyes, opened his mouth, and smiled at Brandon, sometimes stretching out his little hands and calling out.
Aunt Claudia and Kelly sat nearby, watching the two little ones play on their own.
Abigail’s heart sank slightly. For a moment, she selfishly wanted to take Teddy away. But seeing the father-son interactions, the most ordinary of scenes, filled with mutual affection and reliance, how could she bear it?
More than other children, she knew what children without parents lacked in their growth. How could she let her son suffer the same?
Forget it. She decided to go back to the beginning.
No expectations, just for Teddy.
