Chapter 711: Chapter 711: Receiving Work From Him

Ferdinand shook his head as he thought about it. He avoided looking into Arabella’s eyes so she would not see what he had witnessed.

Arabella had just woken up from a peaceful sleep so she did not want to see such things first thing in the morning as well so she did not try to see it.

It must be a horrible and painful scenery to look at so Ferdinand did not want her to see it.

"That is quite sad and terrifying. Most territories are finally leaving comfortably after years of efforts to achieve it," Arabella sighed. She did not want to see such a sight in this life.

Some parts of Valeria had already suffered from it in the past. She did not want it to happen again.

"Yes, that’s why we had to act on this quickly. I’m sure I had already encountered this disease before but I cannot recall what they used against it back then," Ferdinand sighed.

[But even if I could remember, I am not allowed to reveal it anyway. We are forbidden from completely solving an era’s problems.]

’Eh? Even in situations like this?’ Arabella was once again reminded why she was not informed about a lot of things in her past life. Estrella’s rules were quite strict.

"It’s alright. I’m sure the researchers would be able to find something to manage it," Arabella assured her husband since he looked like he was feeling bad he could not do more than he already did.

It was already a great fit to prevent it from spreading further yet he was not giving himself more credit.

"You already did well in your quick action and decisions to deal with it immediately and prevent it from spreading," Arabella added.

Ferdinand smiled but it did not reach his eyes.

Arabella wondered why but could not ask since he spoke first.

"Right, I heard from Alwin that you want to send your assistant Ivan with the researchers."

’Oh, Alwin already reported.’

"Yes. Remember when we visited Cordelia? Ivan had several sections of their library filled with his research in agriculture and other fields. He also had a lot of practical experience so he might be able to assist the researchers from the Department of Agriculture," Arabella explained.

"But will you be alright? If you send him, you will lack one assistant and the most promising one at that."

[She already has a lot of work to do and Ivan is a great help to her. I didn’t like it that she had such high praises for him but he is indeed a very capable lad. It’s good to keep him around her to lessen her workload.]

Ferdinand was worried that Arabella would be overworked without Ivan assisting her.

"Don’t worry. My other assistants are also very much capable. Ivan’s presence simply overshadowed them but they could all shine on their own as well," Arabella smiled.

She assured her husband that she would not be in trouble even without Ivan doing his usual workload since all her assistants were competent.

Ivan’s presence does speed up everything though which was why Arabella was able to have some leeway to take care of other things even with all the work sent to her office daily. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Ronald and the others would be able to up their game though with Ivan out of the picture to overshadow them.

"I see. If that’s the case, then he may go with the researchers. The more experts work on it, the better. I’ll also have some of the magicians study it," Ferdinand approved.

"Oh, if you are going back to Sibruh, what about the Court Sessions?" Arabella recalled the Court Sessions push through even if Ferdinand was not around.

"I didn’t want to give you more work, but can I leave it in your hands?" Ferdinand asked.

’He is already delegating such a task to me?!’ Arabella was delighted. It meant Ferdinand could already trust her with such matters.

[Arabella is so dedicated to her work and she did all of it well. She’s so mature and capable even if she’s still so young. I’m sure she can have the nobles listen to her and have the minister’s report as usual. But she might be busy since she would be sending Ivan away. Once they had begun attending the Court Sessions, the past Empresses usually took over when their spouses were busy with something else. But the Prime Minister could keep doing the job too. Maybe, I should let Raymond do it as usual in the meantime?]

"Raymond will be there to assist you. But if you would be busy with your work, I’ll have Raymond take care of it so-"

"I can do it!" Arabella quickly accepted it before Ferdinand could take back his words.

"Are you sure you would be alright?" Ferdinand tilted his head.

"I’ll be fine. I can do it. I promise, I will do my best," Arabella beamed at her husband.

[Why does she look so happy when she’s receiving more work? She’s such a workaholic. But since she’s delighted with it, I can’t take it back anymore.]

"Alright then. Please do your best. I will rely on you until the situation in Sibruh and the neighboring territories calm down. I will try to return every now and then," Ferdinand promised.

’I have to show him he can rely on me too. I will do my best,’ Arabella was pumped up.

This would be the first time in this life that she would attend the Court Sessions without him so she was a bit nervous.

However, she already had past experience with this in her past life so she was not terrified.

’I can do this. I already experienced it several times in my past life so it should be fine. Even if they treat me badly once Ferdinand is not beside me, I can stay calm and collected. I have already heard all sorts of things before so I can put up with any insult they throw at me,’ Arabella prepared herself for battle.

Nobles could throw insults with a smiling face so she could simply let it pass with one as well.

She would not allow herself to wallow in fear and sadness this time.

After all, so many things had changed in this life.

"Thank you for believing in me," Arabella kissed him on the cheek.

"I am the one who is grateful I can rely on you," Ferdinand squeezed her hand and gave it another kiss.
