Reborn as a Mechanist with a God-Tier System-Chapter 281: Final preparations [4]
Leon began sorting his mechanic constructs for travel.
He determined the constructs that he intended to take with him on his travel to Iron Reef, and those that he intended to leave behind with Butler to take care of the shelter on his behalf.
Thinking of leaving, Leon could not help but remember. "I’m yet to give my shelter a truly tangible name despite how much it’s upgraded already?"
He immediately stopped working as he held his chin in deep thought, mumbling to himself. "I have to give the shelter a name!"
Afterall, he already named most of his constructs at this point. Only the shelter remained to be named.
"Should I call it Shelter, Shelter as in the capital letter version?"
He immediately cringed. "That’s lame".
He racked his head, thinking of multiple different names, and then he settled on one. "Bastion".
He didn’t remember all the details of why the name stayed stuck in his head in the midst of all his fragmented memories, but he vaguely remembered that the name was tied to a particular series that he once fell in love with.
’Was it Slave something...?’ He thought.
He didn’t quite remember the series, but the name stuck with him and so he decided to make it permanent.
The moment he made his decision, the ChronoSystem lit up with a new notification.
DING!
~----~
[New Name has been registered!]
>"Leon’s Shelter" has been changed to "Bastion".
~----~
Seeing the confirmation by the system, Leon grinned, then he continued.
He took at least 5 of every weapon construct that he had, packing them into a giant crate. Of course, he took his 3 main constructs as a D Rank Mechanist, including all 35 soldiers of the first iteration of his mechanical army.
After being stuck in a dilemma for some time, he made the decision to leave all the basic bots to continue helping the ChronoSystem’s automated construction in the shelter while he was gone.
Even while he was gone, Butler will be in charge of orchestrating more business deals with Leviathan Quay as their secret arms dealer.
This way, he could work on paying his debt.
As for the protection of the shelter, Leon was not delusional. He knew that Butler was not enough, the robot was never built to be a combat type.
His plan was that while supervising the constructs of the ChronoSystem to pay off Leviathan Quay’s debt, Butler will request for more airdrops to construct 2 more Doom Rover v0.2s, a Tank Class and a Melee Class to be the main protective forces of the shelter.
His plan was that if he stayed outside for a long time and the ChronoSystem managed to pay off all his debt in his absence, he would give the system a new mission to continue building his mechanical army.
This was the advantage of Mechanists, Warmachine Specialists especially.
Even with the limit of 20 mechanical soldiers at a time with Command Link Network, a D Rank Mechanist could still enter battle with more mechanical soldiers by delegating control to his A.I, that’s if the A.I is advanced enough.
And after all the recent upgrades to Davis, both in the last 3 weeks and in the 13 days in Iron Reef during the Trial, Davis was more than equipped to control hundreds of mechanical soldiers simultaneously in battle.
Though individually, they’ll not be as lethal as the 20 mechanical soldiers that Leon will control personally through Command Link Network, their sheer numbers and firepower alone meant that they could pose a threat to any enemy.
So once the debt was paid, Leon intended for the ChronoSystem to start working on the expanded mechanical army immediately by constructing more mechanical soldiers.
The ChronoSystem would focus on more Doom Rover v0.1s because not only were they significantly cheaper, they also had D Rank firepower too.
Beside his elite troop of 20 mechanical soldiers, Leon wanted numbers more for the others and hence why he decided to push out more Doom Rover v0.1s.
After more than 30 minutes, Leon was done sorting everything out, but he didn’t leave immediately.
He would leave tomorrow morning.
But before that, after sorting everything out, he finally entertained a question that he’d been holding back for weeks. ’What is the weakness of my mechanic constructs?’
Despite how overpowered offensively his D Rank Constructs were, including his mechanical army, his current knowledge as a D Rank Mechanist grounded Leon in the reality that his constructs were not perfect.
Just like any other Ascended, they had weaknesses.
Leon didn’t have to think hard to realize his construct’s weakness, their collective weakness was defense.
Offensively, beside perhaps only Cannon Masters and Pulse Brawlers, Leon did not believe that with all his constructs any other Class had more power than him. He was that overpowered offensively as a Warmachine Specialist.
But the glaring flaw of his constructs was defense.
Literally almost all his constructs used the R9 energy shield as their main defensive system, and despite how much pride he had in his blueprint, Leon knew that the R9 shield was among the weakest among D Rank blueprints.
It barely passed as a D Rank blueprint.
In high-stakes battles involving other powerful D Rank enemies, the R9 shield that was his cheat and main advantage as an E Rank Mechanist was likely going to be his greatest weakness now.
’I need to create a more sophisticated and stronger energy shield’. He thought, but he realized that he didn’t have the ability now.
One of the only ways to get a better blueprint was if he could get Leviathan Quay to help him, but knowing that such a blueprint was going to be core military secret, Leon didn’t keep his hopes high.
The only other ways that Leon could think of was through help from Ren Nora, and by meeting a D Rank Technician Mechanist. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Leon sighed. ’My journey ahead is long’.
And this was not his only concern. Apart from his constructs’ weakness, his other main concern was how to complete his Ascended Counter as fast as possible.
For the past 3 weeks, he’d been thinking and now, with how little the counter grew despite the crazy constructs he’d worked on over the past few weeks Leon finally arrived at his conclusion.
’The key to increasing the Ascended Counter is not merely constructing at all’.
Heck, he felt that construction was even marginalized here.
Instead of construction, he felt that the secret to increasing his Ascended Counter now was tied to his Class Specialization.
’I’m a Warmachine Specialist’. His onyx black eyes gleamed. ’Does that mean I’ll have to start a war just to be able to meet the requirements to safely attempt the C Rank Ascended Trial?’
Leon was troubled.
He sighed and rubbed his face, ruffling his hair. ’I also need to ask Ren Nora about how the C Rank Ascended Trial is like’.
There were so many things in his plate to do.
Finally, he couldn’t help but think. ’As an E Rank Mechanist, Lucian and his Extremist Movement gave me the opportunity I needed to serve justice and complete my Ascended Trial in the process’.
’Will I get the same opportunity this time?’
He became a bit worried. ’Will I have to start a senseless war in my quest to becoming a C Rank Ascended?’
His face turned solemn, but then he relaxed and sighed again.
’There’s no use thinking about it now’.
’I’ll face it all after I leave tomorrow’.
