Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Shi Liran; A Victim?

Soon enough, time passed, and it was soon nighttime. Tang Jun, Tang Mo, and Li Qiang had already left the police station.

According to the chief officer, the case has been reported to the court, and he was going to communicate the day of the first hearing to them.

Tang Jingsheng could only remain in the station, much to his annoyance.

As expected, the press had already released several news reports about the issue. Almost everyone in the country, if not all were aware of it.

The one at the receiving end was the Tang Corporation as its stocks fell drastically.

Tang Jun looked at the reports he got from his assistant, and he was seething. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"This is all Tang Mo’s fault, if he had just left his brother alone, then, we would not be facing such an issue," Tang Jun rubbed his forehead as he wondered how he was going to deal with all the issues.

He doubts he will come out successful, but that didn’t mean he was going to be giving up.

"Damn that son of my brother," he cursed Tang Mo for the umpteenth time.

This time around, Tang’s corporation had been hit with a heavy blow, it was difficult to put it back up. If care was not taken, they could vanish into nothingness.

*Two Weeks Later*

These past two weeks have been hectic for Tang Mo, Li Qiang, and their respective partners, inclusive.

A week ago, Jiang Lanfen had her hearing, and as expected, she was sentenced to twenty-one years imprisonment.

Grandpa Xin had said he was going to deal with Jiang Zhengzhou in his own way. Xin Yan would never have expected her grandfather to torture him, before sending him to jail.

His hearing was going to take place later in the month, but it was expected that he was going to face a gruesome fate.

The matter of finding Yuan Renshu was still left to Chen Wenling who had not made any significant progress. It was as though Yuan Renshu vanished into thin air.

Xin Yan and Zhou Mian spent their leisure time keeping Feng Shui company, she had some episodes of breakdown, but thankfully, they were there to help her.

Li Qiang and Wu Tang had met a few times, but fortunately nothing happened. But that didn’t mean that there weren’t underlying currents which could spark between them.

Li Qiang was waiting for Wu Tang to make a move, before he returned the favor. He wasn’t one to head into a fight without being provoked, and as it stood, Wu Tang hadn’t done anything.

And also, Tang Mo had been targeted numerous times, and it was obvious who was behind it, it was Tang Jun, his ’father!’

This caused Tang Mo to discard every form of sentiment he had for them. He had only one goal, and that was to punish them, regardless that they were family.

But one thing Tang Mo found strange was that his mom had not reached out to him, despite being in Beijing already. Yeah, Tang Mo’s ’mother’ has returned.

And strangely, she decided not to involve herself in the matters concerning her sons and husband. It was as though it didn’t concern her, or perhaps, it really didn’t bother her.

But on this fateful day, she reached out to Tang Mo claiming that she had something to say to him.

Tang Mo looked at the message on his phone, and he drew his brows together, causing a frown to morph on his face.

It was concise, and straight to the point. Just the way his mom does. He could only exhale as he packed up to go to the location which she had dropped.

Thirty minutes later, Tang Mo approached a restaurant. He sighed with a nostalgic smile on his face.

This restaurant was their family’s favorite. He looked around, and he seemed to notice their family having dinner, and fun.

He could only breathe out, before stepping into the restaurant.

Furthermore, he looked around for a while, before finally sighting his mom. Not only that, but he wondered how long she had to wait before she showed up.

"Mom," he called out gaining the attention of the older woman.

Mrs. Tang, commonly called, Shi Liran smiled at her son with misty eyes. She missed him a lot, and she stood up, and gave him a hug which caught him by surprise.

"Mom," he called, which snapped the woman out of her trance as she had held him tightly.

She retracted, and gestured for him to have a seat.

"Mo, I missed you a lot, your father would not allow me to see you, thankfully, I could get a chance today since the Police showed up for him," Shi Liran spoke up as she handed him the menu.

"Let’s order first, before I tell you what I want to say," Shi Liran suggested, and Tang Mo agreed.

He was starving by the way. It was best for him to have lunch. But he was surprised that his father kept his mom under surveillance, no wonder his mom did not reach out to him, which was unlike her.

After they had ordered, and had their lunch, they decided to talk business.

"I am glad you decided to send both your brother and father to jail, it warms my heart to know that you still consider my teachings to be applicable," Shi Liran held her son’s hands with a smile on her face.

"Mom, why did father lock you up? And also, I thought you would be disappointed with me knowing that I am sending one of your sons and husband to jail," Tang Mo had a skeptical look on his face as he asked the burning questions.

Shi Liran smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. It felt like she had so many things to say, but she was unsure as to where she was to start from.

"You know, I would have been disappointed if you didn’t send them to jail, they deserve to be in jail, especially your father," she balled her hands into fists, as she tried to suppress the annoyance she felt.

Tang Mo frowned as he looked at his mom. He could sense the change in her, and he wondered what must have happened.

"I always knew your father was a rapist, and why would I not know? I was his first victim," tears escaped from Shi Liran’s eyes, and her words shocked Tang Mo to the core.

"That is not possible!" He shook his head, vehemently trying to deny it.

"It is, I always knew your father was Cheng Jin, he first raped me, after he raped me, he transformed to Cheng Jin, the feared rapist who struck fear and terror into the hearts of females," Shi Liran replied, establishing her fact.

Tang Mo’s face turned pale as he listened to his mom. She looked shaken, obviously, she still hadn’t moved on from the pain of being raped.

"Why didn’t you report? How are you even married to him? If you had reported, he might not have had the chance to establish himself as Cheng Jin," Tang Mo asked questions after questions.

Shi Liran looked up to the ceiling, feeling dazed. It wasn’t that she did not try to report, she was ready to send him to jail, but he was influential.

"Mo, I wish I could have sent him to jail, but he was the youngest son of the Tang’s, his family was more influential than mine, I don’t know if it was luck, but my father caught him forcing himself on me," Shi Liran did not continue the story, but her words were enough for Tang Mo to understand what had happened.

"So your father saw it as an opportunity to send you to that monster’s place," Tang Mo felt unprecedented anger against his late grandfather.

"You don’t have to blame your grandfather, he thought he was protecting me, if word got out that I was raped, the humiliation would be too much for me to bear," Shi Liran immediately said, she did not want him to have hatred against his grandfather.

"Probably, he was trying to save his image, and at the same time, trying to get himself acquainted with the family," Tang Mo mumbled to his mom’s hearing as he rolled his eyes. He had already seen through his late grandad’s plans.

It was a pity his mother revered him a lot. Everyone else could see that it was his plan, but his mom... Sighs! He didn’t know what he was supposed to think.

"Forget it, I didn’t call you to talk about my past, I want to tell you something, and I hope you will not get mad about it," Shi Liran looked at her son, feeling nervous.

Her next statement could either break their relationship, or strengthen it. She wanted the latter, and she hoped he would be able to listen to it.

"Yes, go on, mom," Tang Mo agreed, giving his mom space to speak.

Shi Liran took several deep breaths, before opening her mouth to say, "Tang Jun isn’t your father!" She had her eyes closed as she dropped the bombshell. She dared not see his expression.
