Rebirth: The Ascent of a Socialite-Chapter 677 - 276: Secret Encounter in South Africa (Part 2)
When Su Ziceng returned to the hotel, the driver who had picked her up was nowhere to be seen. Led by a waitress downstairs, she was taken upstairs and noticed that there were only two rooms on her floor, side by side, seemingly the two best rooms in the entire hotel. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
This hotel, by the look of its facilities and signs, was a five-star establishment, and typically the top floor would house luxury suites. Jim had certainly been too generous this time. When Su Ziceng opened the door, she felt a bit uneasy, suspecting with Espr’s current expansion trajectory, Jim wouldn’t want her to "drop by" Antarctica next time, would he? To convince penguins to dress in Espr clothing? Crazy Jim.
"Madam, if you need anything, you can call us," the hotel’s service was impeccable, having even arranged for a French-speaking waiter in advance, something Su Ziceng greatly appreciated.
Her luggage had already been neatly placed in the wardrobe. Su Ziceng acknowledged that the room was indeed a luxury suite. There were white feather-colored tassel curtains, a European-style sofa, and a spacious balcony. Stepping out onto the balcony and looking out, the beach where she had been earlier could be seen in full view. Su Ziceng noted that there was no barrier between her balcony and the one next door, meaning that if there were guests next door, they might even sit down and have a chat.
After returning to the room and about to organize her clothes, Su Ziceng noticed another door at the end of the room. She curiously approached it, grabbed the handle, and tried to turn it, but the door did not budge.
"It seems to be just a decorative door," Su Ziceng muttered to herself. If the door could open, it would lead directly to the opposite room. She wondered why the hotel had deliberately left such a door there. After saying this, Su Ziceng went back to the wardrobe, took out her daily makeup bag with toiletries and sunscreen, and placed it on the dressing table.
There were already grooming tools and women’s products on the dressing table, but besides these, Su Ziceng noticed a bunch of decorative roses.
When she first entered the room, she had noticed the roses placed in a clear glass vase. The flowers’ colors were particularly unique, with seven roses, each one a different color.
"Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple—seven-colored roses, and they’re real," Su Ziceng realized that these were indeed real flowers, having initially thought they were artificial. The roses were fresh, each one blooming perfectly, and she could smell their fragrance. The seven roses each had a distinct aroma.
"This is a miracle," Su Ziceng admired the seven roses fondly. From the colors and stems, these were natural roses, not dyed with artificial coloring. "I must tell Jim that no matter the cost, the hotel’s service is really worth it."
After these words, Su Ziceng took a bath. In the evening, the hotel sent a meal with distinct African flavors. Dressed in a loose robe, Su Ziceng sat on the balcony, facing the sea breeze and watching the sun sink slowly into the sea.
With her meal getting cold, Su Ziceng suddenly felt something peculiar. She first glanced back at the room and then at the opposite balcony. There was no one there, so why did she have the strange feeling that she was being watched?
"It must be an illusion," she thought as the evening breeze grew cooler and the night deepened. Having drunk some alcohol with her meal and affected by jet lag from the flight, Su Ziceng felt tired and decided to go to bed early.
After the last few lights went out, the sound of waves hitting the cliffs echoed along with Su Ziceng’s soft breathing in the room.
The seven-colored roses were still placed on the dressing table, and in the night, the roses seemed to emit a glow.
The door that Su Ziceng had tried earlier, the one that couldn’t be opened, began to turn slightly, and was opened by a tall figure who walked in. Through the opened door, one could see the opposite room—these two luxury suites were actually connected.
The room was dim, and through the light of a few escape sign lamps, the man instantly spotted the person sleeping on the bed.
The scent of the roses was the perfect sedative. Su Ziceng, sleeping with a slight smile on her lips, curled up inside the blanket.
The man bent down, his fingers brushing aside the woman’s long hair. She furrowed her brows slightly, protesting against the hand disturbing her sleep.
A gentle chuckle, filled with affection and a bit of helplessness, filled the air. It had been a close call earlier at dinner, nearly being discovered by her.
"Your senses are getting sharper," Pello whispered, kissing Su Ziceng’s cheek. The good touch and the warmth from her sleep made Pello feel that he was really in contact with Su Ziceng, not just a cold photo or vain fantasy. His kiss lingered on her lips, capturing the fragrance of the woman and her soft sighs into his mouth.
When she awoke in the early morning, Su Ziceng felt something was off, as if something heavy had pressed against her, a weight on her chest.
The room was as it always was, with a bit of light on the horizon. As her feet touched the ground, she noticed something different; there was a rose petal on the floor, but the bouquet in the vase was still there.
"What’s going on? Always such wild thoughts," Su Ziceng said with a wry smile as she stretched out her limbs; it was time to get to work.
The roses were still there, but Su Ziceng did not realize that the bouquet was different from the one the night before. (To be continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
