Chapter 653: Chapter 653: Pig?

"I studied nursing and emergency aid," Lucy Wells explained, then asked, "Do you have any bandages left? If not, I’ll go buy some."

"I’ll have to trouble you then." Kai Bright didn’t hesitate to rely on Lucy Wells.

Lucy Wells nodded slightly, stood up, and grabbed her wallet to head out the door.

Kai Bright immediately said, "There’s a pharmacy just to the left of the hotel."

Lucy Wells paused, nodded, and quickly went to buy the supplies.

Watching the door close, Kai Bright couldn’t help but chuckle, "Sophie’s friend, indeed. Bold and clever."

The moment she was held hostage, she knew to use speed dial for help.

If it weren’t for him, if it had been anyone else, she would have already sent out a distress signal. Always on the line, they would have been caught quickly.

He was the only one sharp enough to notice.

Kai Bright sniffed the air, the aroma of food in the air made his empty stomach grumble twice.

Since he had been called for a meal, he decided to eat first.

When Lucy Wells returned and saw the plates and bowls completely cleaned, she was speechless.

Was he a pig?

He actually finished everything?

Not only was there porridge, but also fried rice, plus several buns, and he ate them all?

She didn’t know what he wanted to eat initially, so she ordered extra, who would’ve thought he would finish all of it?

"I’ll bandage you up now," Lucy Wells said, only slightly surprised, and then washed and sanitized her hands.

When she came out of the restroom, Lucy Wells was stunned.

The person sitting in the chair was entirely unselfconscious, the robe already undone and tied around a firm waist, the well-defined abs looked as if sculpted by the finest artist, with not a single bit of excess flesh but not exaggerated, making it impossible to look away.

However, on his shoulder, an open flesh wound ruined all the aesthetic.

Kai Bright looked up at Lucy Wells, confusion in his eyes, silently questioning why she hadn’t started yet.

"Ah, hold on, it might hurt a bit," Lucy Wells hurriedly approached, carefully bandaging Kai Bright.

Lucy Wells’s actions were exceptionally professional, prompting Kai Bright to whistle, "Impressive, professional!"

"What made you decide to study this?" Kai Bright asked curiously, as he remembered this person worked at Sophie’s company.

"My mom and grandma are getting old. Who knows when this might be needed. It’s good to be prepared," Lucy Wells replied with a smile, "Even on regular days, it can help people."

Kai Bright watched the careful and focused Lucy Wells, warmth in his eyes, "You really are filial."

"It’s as it should be," Lucy Wells didn’t think much of it, she just learned it out of instinct.

"When are you heading to the Imperial City?" Kai Bright asked curiously.

"The day after tomorrow," Lucy Wells said offhandedly.

"Then I’ll go back with you," Kai Bright’s words made Lucy Wells pause.

"I’m on a special mission this time, so I need a cover identity and can’t expose myself," Kai Bright patiently explained. Since this person was approved by Sophie, their character surely wasn’t in question.

Kai Bright felt at ease sharing some of his situation.

"Alright," Lucy Wells nodded, trusting Sophie’s cousin.

"I’ll be troubling you then," Kai Bright smiled, his eyes crinkling.
