Chapter 652: Chapter 652: Can You Have a Little Sympathy

What surprised Sophie Wilson was that Lucy Wells recovered her emotions pretty quickly.

"Lucy, you’re quite impressive now," Sophie teased with a smile, "You weren’t like this before."

"I’ve matured," Lucy said proudly. She had learned from Sophie that Kai Bright wasn’t a bad person and was actually Sophie’s cousin, which eased her mind.

Over there, Kai Bright had finished his shower and came out. His phone rang, and Kai answered, walking over to the balcony.

"What’s going on?" Charles Seymour asked in a deep voice.

"Just a small accident, all sorted now," Kai said with a chuckle.

"Did you mess up?" Charles asked.

Kai helplessly pursed his lips and replied, "Yeah."

"Idiot," Charles unceremoniously commented.

Kai Bright: "..."

Hey, at least he’s injured, can’t he get a little sympathy?

"When you come back, I’ll give you an extra training session." Charles’s indifferent voice made Kai’s scalp almost explode, his whole skin tensed up, "Uh... no trouble, right... haha..."

"No trouble at all, since you’re Sophie’s cousin." Charles said, "As her brother-in-law, it’s right for me to care about my cousin-in-law."

Kai swallowed and replied shakily, "Although I’d quite like to hear you call me brother, I have a feeling that your concern comes at a high price..."

Will the extra training kill him?

"Heh." Charles laughed lightly, without a hint of warmth, making Kai shiver. Years of habit made him instantly stand at attention, almost to the point of saluting.

"I’ll come find you as soon as I get back," Kai said quickly. Being singled out for special training by Charles was something many envied.

Of course, the process was quite brutal, but the result... was worth it.

"Mm." Charles nodded, acknowledging, then promptly and decisively hung up the phone.

Kai looked at the abruptly ended call, furiously dialing back, "Aren’t you going to care about me at all? So heartless?"

"I’m going to comfort Sophie," Charles replied rather bluntly and ruthlessly, "You scared her."

"Uh..." Kai scratched his cheek awkwardly, "Well, make sure you comfort her, I didn’t mean to..."

"You don’t need to tell me, Sophie is my woman, and I’ll take responsibility." With that, Charles hung up the phone again, very straightforwardly.

Kai let out a heavy sigh as he looked at the phone. He’s injured, so why still be bullied?

Do single people have no rights?

Too much!

Kai put his phone away and returned to the room.

Upon entering, he discovered there was actually light porridge, side dishes, and other food laid out on the table.

"Is this for me?" Kai instinctively asked, somehow feeling that the food before him was meant for him.

"Yes." Lucy nodded, "I wasn’t sure if it’d suit your taste, so I ordered something light."

"Thanks," Kai smiled and waved at Lucy, his beautiful eyes curving charmingly when he smiled.

The wide bathrobe opened slightly, revealing Kai’s shoulder haphazardly wrapped with bandages.

Lucy glanced at it and asked, "Your injury... do you need to re-bandage it?"

"You can?" Kai looked at Lucy in surprise.
