Chapter 219: A Week Escaped From The City

After saying an emotional goodbye to all family and friends, Aurora and Alex finally left the Villa.

Her heart felt warm with happiness as she saw their family and friends standing in the front yard, waving and cheering them on as their car slowly drove away from the Villa.

Today has been a tiring and emotional day for Aurora. She now feels grateful that everything is over. Now, they are both in the car, heading quickly away from the Villa.

However, something made her curious, Alex drove the car, leaving the Villa without anyone following. It’s unusual for him to go without a guard trailing.

Suddenly, something crossed her mind. She turned to look at him with a soft frown on her forehead.

’No way! Did he plan our honeymoon at this golf resort?’

Aurora was speechless just thinking about it. And her worry was finally answered. Instead of heading to the main gate of the Golf Resort, he makes a turn.

"Alex, are you planning our honeymoon in this place?" she asked, her curiosity bubbling up.

When he only smiled in response and didn’t answer, she decided to let it go for now, curious about where this man might take her tonight. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

But soon after she realized something, her heart seized again.

’We ride a helicopter?’ She wondered as the car headed toward a helipad, and the familiar helicopter came into view.

Alex finally spoke after parking his car near the helicopter, "We’ll ride this to our honeymoon destination. It’s a remote location and will take many hours to drive there."

Aurora, "..."

"Rory, are you okay with us riding this?" Alex asked as she helped her unbuckle her seatbelt.

"I hope so..." Aurora answered, not really sure, given her current condition.

In the past, she was comfortable riding any form of transportation, including helicopters, even though she didn’t particularly enjoy it.

But now, she worried that her pregnancy hormones would make her nauseous when riding in a helicopter.

...

Later,

The helicopter finally took off.

This isn’t the first time Aurora watched Alex pilot the helicopter solo, but seeing him again now honestly fills her with even more pride and admiration.

Not only is he intelligent and capable of managing his business, but he also has many talents. He can do so many things — even take on the role of pilot for his own jet.

"You look so cool, Alex..." Aurora suddenly commented after they had already flown for about ten minutes, leaving the city.

Alex chuckled warmly at her compliment.

"You’ve seen me fly this helicopter many times... so what made you suddenly say that all of a sudden?"

Aurora didn’t rush to answer him; she felt shy about expressing what was on her mind now. After a few more seconds, she sincerely shared her feelings.

"Maybe because in the past, I was just one of your staff. But now, it’s different; you’re my man, so I feel happy and proud looking at you..."

Aurora didn’t hear Alex say anything, but seeing him nod happily, she could tell how he was feeling at that moment.

After a few more minutes in the air, Aurora’s curiosity grew stronger.

They had been flying for about forty minutes already, but there was still no sign of their destination.

She didn’t see any lights beneath them, only darkness as far as her eyes could see; they flew toward an uninhabited area.

"I’m really curious, Alex... how much further do we have to go? Are we still quite a ways from our destination?"

"Rory, how are you feeling? Are you feeling unwell? Dizzy?" Alex looked at her, concerned, flickering in his eyes.

Aurora shook her head.

"No... Nothing. I’m fine. I feel better, at least now. But I won’t be for too long. I might die of curiosity if you didn’t tell me where we are going now."

She helplessly smiled at him.

"We’ll be there in a few minutes," Alex said reassuringly. "It’s a bit hard to explain since you’ve never been to this property before, but I think you’ll love it. It’s a remote area—I built this modern cabin in the woods earlier this year just for you..."

"You are full of surprises, Alex..."

Aurora smiled joyfully upon hearing that Alex had built a cozy cabin in the woods just for her. It made her even more curious, and she couldn’t wait to arrive and see it for herself.

She couldn’t guess where this place was, but it was clear that it was very far from the city; maybe they had reached the border of another province by now.

And not long after, Aurora finally saw a red light flickering in the distance, and Alex steered the helicopter toward it.

They smoothly landed on the helipad in the open area, still unsure of where they were.

But she saw a few cars waiting and some familiar people, including Josh and Dave.

Aurora smiles, finally getting her answer. No wonder she didn’t see them back in the Villa; apparently, they were here waiting for her and Alex.

"Let’s go, Rory..."

Alex’s voice gently pulled Aurora from her thoughts. She quickly buckled her seatbelt and reached out to hold Alex’s hand, who was already standing outside, helping her step off the helicopter.

"Rory, we’ll drive a few more minutes to the cabin. I hope you’re not tired yet," Alex said as they headed toward the waiting SUV.

"I’m fine..." she answered him with a gentle smile to help him feel at ease.

They have a quick chat with Josh and Dave before Alex takes the wheel and drives the car himself once more.

After thirty minutes, they arrived at a modern house.

Aurora couldn’t see everything clearly due to the low light, but she could tell the house was situated in the mountains close to the cliff.

Just thinking about all the materials needed to build the house makes her feel dizzy. She set aside her curiosity, stepped out of the car, and Alex gently held her hand.

"How did you manage to build a beautiful but modern house in such a remote place, Alex? Wow... I’m really impressed!"

"This place isn’t too remote; we have road access and a city about two hours away. The entire mountain is mine, so there are no buildings nearby—only the building for the security team, which is a mile from this building. And, no one else can enter this area," he explained, pausing to look into her eyes.

"Are you excited? This will be our cozy love nest for the week, it’ll only be us, enjoying each moment together..."

Alex’s voice sounded gentle enough to make her face turn warm.

Her heartbeat gradually increased, and she responded with a soft, "Hmmm..."

...

Aurora doesn’t feel like she’s in the middle of a forest because the house has brand-new modern furniture.

She quickly glanced around the kitchen before settling into the warm, cozy living room. Standing by the glass wall, gazing into the darkness, she could only see the shadows of trees illuminated by the moonlight.

"Rory, are you hungry?"

Alex’s voice made her turn around to look at him in the kitchen.

"Yeah, I’m feeling a bit hungry, but don’t worry about cooking — I’ll take care of it." She smiled as she walked over to him. "What ingredients do we have?"

"We have enough ingredients to last a week. But Rory, tonight I want to cook for us. Just relax and rest. I’ll make a simple spaghetti, and it won’t take long for you to enjoy it."

Alex insisted because he wanted to avoid tiring her out after a long, exhausting day.

"Alright, I’m looking forward to your delicious spaghetti, Alex..."

She smiled, watching his serious expression as he tried to gather a few ingredients from the fridge.

"You can check out our bedroom and unpack. I hope Tina is packing what you need," Alex is pointing to the door on the other side of the kitchen.

Aurora agrees and heads toward the bedroom, excited to see the birthday gift she had already prepared for him. Only a few hours remain before his birthday, marking their first celebration as a married couple.

The bedroom resembles their bedroom in his apartment at Stardust Tower, feeling warm with yellow lighting and modern furnishings dominated by wooden and natural colors.

She didn’t have time to check her surroundings. Because she immediately spotted the silver suitcase. It was the suitcase she had already packed together with Tina three days before.

Aurora unpacked her suitcase and organized all her clothes in the wardrobe. She also noticed Alex’s suitcase and arranged his clothes right beside hers.

Once everything was in place, she finally took out the black gift box for him—his birthday present.

"Alex, I hope you like it!" She took a quick glance at the brand-new watch she had ordered, and it was a handmade Swiss watch made exclusively for him. Only one made in the world.

Aurora hid the gift box and took out her cell phone.

When Aurora checked the telephone signal, she was surprised to see that there was no signal for the phone, only Wi-Fi. And she didn’t know the passwords.

’Damn! How could I text Martin about the birthday cake?’

Aurora had already arranged with Martin to prepare the cake a few days earlier. She wasn’t sure if Martin had successfully delivered the cake here without Alex discovering it. Still, she hoped he had managed to do so.

Now, she can’t ask Martin; she feels stressed that her plan to surprise Alex with a birthday party will fail.
