Chapter 218: The Wedding (2)

The wedding day!

Early in the morning, after breakfast, Aurora felt troubled about something.

Again!

She wanted to say what had been bothering her for a few days, but felt her heart was too heavy to speak.

When they returned to their bedroom, Aurora somehow caught a glimpse of the back garden where they would have their wedding, and her emotions returned.

Alex saw the change in her.

"What are you worried about? If you worry about the flowers, they haven’t yet decorated the venue with fresh ones. Don’t worry. They will finish all of that before the guests arrive."

Aurora turned her gaze away from the wedding venue and saw Alex with a smile on her lips.

"I’m not concerned about that. But I feel sad because my dad can’t walk me down the aisle. I—"

She feels overwhelmed and unable to continue speaking.

"Oh, Rory..."

Alex’s voice gradually faded. Like her, he felt terrible. However, they couldn’t ask Thomas Moon to do that, as it might confuse the other guests if they insisted.

In the end, they decided to have Matthew Graystone walk her to the wedding altar.

They looked at each other for a moment before Aurora sighed deeply. She tried to relax the tension in her heart.

"I’m sorry. I just feel a bit melancholic. I should cheer up because today is our big day, Alex!"

She smiled as he gently rubbed her cheek.

"I know we only invited our close family and friends, but I can’t help feeling nervous... how about you?" she asked.

Alex slightly nods.

"Even though we already signed our marriage papers and legally became husband and wife, this ceremony and party still make me nervous and overwhelmed, too, just like you..."

After they talked a few more minutes, Alex took her hand and led her to the bed.

"Alright, there’s no need to worry anymore. Go. Get some rest; you still have plenty of time before your makeup artist and stylist arrive. You should rest more because we’ll head straight to our honeymoon after the party..."

Aurora stopped and looked up to meet his gaze.

"What? That sounds great! Where? Please tell me?" she asked curiously.

Alex never shared about their honeymoon location and his plan; it made her curious every time they talked about it.

A faint smile appeared on Alex’s lips as he softly said, "My darling wife, please be patient. You only need to wait a few more hours before we go to our jet. I’ll tell you there." He gently encouraged her to rest.

"Alright, but you better take me to the nicest place I’ve ever visited, or I’ll be disappointed, Alex..."

Aurora persuaded him harder to answer her question, but Alex didn’t waver. He simply nodded and helped her onto the bed.

"I will go out to check. Are you alright, alone?" He asked.

"Hmm, it’s fine..."

"Rory, do you want me to call Tina or my mom?"

Aurora hurriedly shook her head. If they come, she won’t be able to sleep. They will gossip about many things with her.

"No, but tell Tina to wake me two hours later..."

"I will. Have a rest, dear..." Alex said before gently kissing her forehead and leaving her to rest.

...

An hour before the event, Aurora finally finished her makeup and hairdo. The makeup artist and the hairstylist had already left her alone.

Standing before the mirror, Aurora feels nervous looking at herself in her beautiful wedding gown, and her hair flows down her shoulders.

Her style is completed with elegant ivory satin ballet flats featuring a pointed toe and a delicate ankle strap that gracefully circles from the ankle to the calf. These comfortable and stylish shoes are ideal for an outdoor wedding, imparting a soft, romantic touch without needing high heels.

"Perfect!" she whispered as she glanced at the wedding bouquet on the table. Just before she reached for it, she was distracted by the joyful shouts from behind.

"Oh my goodness! Rory, you are so stunning, my friend. More stunning than I ever saw you before." Renata, who had just entered, said as she walked into her room with Danny and Tina trailing behind her.

"Hey, why did you guys come early?" Aurora smiles and invites them to sit with her in the seating area.

Renata extends her arm to Aurora and guides her to the sofa.

"Girl! You look really pretty, and your gown is gorgeous. Who was the designer?"

"Thank you, Rena. Alex, who found it, I just suggested an idea to the designer and asked her to make sure I feel comfortable in this gown. They are making it exactly as I envisioned... I like it." Aurora explained and sat beside her.

Renata continued to look at Aurora’s face, appreciating her beauty, and blurted out, "Rory, your makeup is also flawless..."

"Geez, I didn’t wear much makeup, Rena. My makeup artist said I’m already pretty and feels bad about potentially ruining my natural beauty."

Danny almost laughed at Rory’s response to Rena’s exaggerated compliment. Still, he held back when Aurora and Renata glared at him.

"Rory, you’re beautiful. No one doubts that!" Danny said, raising his hand to compliment her.

Thank you, Dan," Aurora smiles and begins chatting with Renata again, ignoring him.

Danny is busy on his cell phone, but his expression gradually darkens as he reads Max’s message.

"Are you coming to Aurora Spencer’s wedding?"

He feels annoyed just by reading Max’s short message. Of course, he will come. Aurora was his best friend. How could he not?

"What kind of question is that?"

After replying, Danny tucked his phone under his suit and asked Aurora, "Where’s Alex? I didn’t see him around..."

"Alex is busy outside, organizing everything," Aurora answered. She felt a surge of nerves as the wedding ceremony drew near.

Soon, Sophia arrives with a warm smile and gently reminds Aurora to get ready since the guests are starting to arrive.

Aurora was left alone again, with only Tina in the room to accompany her.

She stood by the window, trying to find Alex because she hadn’t seen him since she wore her wedding gown.

Looking at a few familiar faces in the back garden, she felt her heart tighten again. After watching for a few more seconds without seeing Alex there, she turned to Tina. She saw her tidying up the bed.

"Aunty, did you see Alex?"

"Oh, Master Alex is downstairs with the others. He wanted to come here to check on you, but Sophia forbade him..." ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Tina chuckled softly before sharing how annoyed Alex was. Still, he respects his mother’s wishes.

When Aurora and Tina are laughing and gossiping about Alex, a gentle knock on the door makes them stop.

"Aurora, it’s me, Matthew. May I come in?" He asked.

"Yes..." Aurora responded softly while Tina hurriedly opened the door.

"The wedding is about to begin. Are you ready?" he asked with a smile, "You look so lovely, Aurora."

Instantly, Aurora feels nervous again. "T-thank you, Matthew. Yes, yes, I’m ready..."

"Alright, let’s go. Don’t be nervous, my dear. The guests are just our close family and friends," he said softly to calm her nerves.

However, Aurora didn’t feel relaxed; she was still nervous. "Hmm, I know..."

After Aurora received the flower bouquet from Tina, she walked with Matthew to the first floor.

Her heart beat even faster as they reached the first floor, and she faintly heard the beautiful music playing as they walked to the back garden.

Aurora never imagined her wedding would look like this. It was set in a beautiful garden with a breathtaking view of a white sandy beach. Surrounded by close family and friends, they treasured the moment.

Her heart melted as they finally walked down the aisle and faced the altar. Her eyes remained on the man she never imagined would become her husband. He appeared handsome in his black tuxedo, as perfect as always.

Even though they officially became husband and wife, she still feels her heart pounding wildly. The overwhelming emotions are now mixed with excitement, happiness, and nervousness.

While the beautiful ’A Thousand Years’ song by Christina Perry played in the background as they walked toward the altar, her eyes never left Alex as she gripped Matthew’s hand tightly.

She saw him smile only at her, which made her heart beat wildly. When Matthew finally handed her over to Alex and noticed his calm gaze, her heartbeat slowed, and her calmness gradually returned.

Everything happened so quickly that she didn’t realize when the wedding officiant began the ceremony.

Then,

Alex’s voice was soft and steady as he began his vows:

"Aurora, no words could ever capture how deeply I love you. What blossomed between us was something I never imagined would feel like this. Yet, by God’s grace, here we are. I love you, Aurora—now and forever."

Aurora understood what Alex meant, even if he didn’t say everything aloud. Somehow, his heartfelt words swept away everything she had planned to say.

"Alex, I never dreamed that you and I would someday be husband and wife. And yet, here we are—side by side. I promise to cherish you, stand by you, and love you always, through every joy and every storm." Her thoughts blurred as tears of happiness fell freely.

The applause echoed in the air, and soon joyful voices echoed, chanting, "Kiss... Kiss... Kiss..."
