Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 217: The Wedding (1)
Chapter 217: The Wedding (1)
The day before the wedding.
Aurora was thrilled to finally return to the Stardust Golf Resort. This was the first time she returned to this place after her rebirth.
She smiled while looking at Alex, who was driving quietly. "Aren’t you tired after two hours of driving?"
A smile appeared on Alex’s lips, and he shot her a quick look, "With you, I never feel tired, my dear pretty wife..." His seductive gaze stunned her.
Aurora was speechless. She could only think, ’Geez! This man is still flirting even though we are in the car.’
"My goodness, Mr. Graystone... please focus on driving," Aurora playfully warned him when he still cast a glance her way.
"Yes, ma’am..." He smiled as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
When they finally reached the two-story villa, Aurora noticed it was packed with workers.
The workers were buzzing around, decorating the spacious living room on the first floor.
Behind the glass wall, she watched a few staff members begin arranging and decorating the grand backyard to make it even grander.
She also saw Alvin and Alan in the backyard. They looked focused and sharp as they managed and supervised the decoration workers.
"I see that you assign Alvin and Alan here."
Aurora turned to see Alex, who was standing beside her. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Alex didn’t rush to respond to her immediately. Instead, he took her hand tenderly and drew her close.
With a gentle touch, he rested his hand on her shoulder and replied warmly, "Hmm, yeah. I put them in charge of all the wedding preparation. How does the decoration look? Do you like it?"
"Sure. Alan and Alvin must be pleased that you trusted them to help organize our wedding. I recall, in the past, you never—"
Alex gently interrupted her, saying, "There’s a reason for that. They are your closest friends. I want to include as many of your friends from your past life as I can, Rory. My hope is to see you happy..." He paused when he saw her eyes glisten softly.
"Can you hold back your tears a bit when I speak..." he gently wipes her tears away. "My pretty wife, if others see you crying, they might think I’m bullying you."
Aurora nods while erasing her tears.
"I’m not sure, but I’ve felt slightly more sensitive in the last couple of weeks. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones?" She looked up at him to meet his gaze.
"Cheer up, this is your big day..." Alex softly placed his hands on her shoulder, his loving gaze fixed solely on her, before he pulled her into his arms.
They embraced each other as they watched the staff outside working.
Suddenly, Sophia’s voice was heard from behind. "Oh, Alex, Aurora... you finally arrived."
"Yes, we have just arrived," Alex replied as he turned to see his mother coming from the kitchen.
Aurora was surprised to see Sophia earlier than she expected. She had thought Sophia would arrive later for their family dinner. But to her surprise, it was only ten o’clock, and Sophia had already arrived.
"Mom? It’s only ten. Why are you here so early? I thought I had told you that the family dinner would be at six o’clock tonight." Alex asked.
Sophia shook her head in annoyance at Alex’s question, thinking about Matthew, who left her alone in the villa.
Aurora, noticing Sophia’s annoyance, feels worried as she approaches her and asks, "What happened, Sophia?"
"Your father left me alone. He went to play golf with your uncle and Thomas. I came here after hearing from Tina that you and Aurora would have lunch here."
Hearing Sophia’s words soothed Aurora. Just now, she had feared something had happened to upset her. She was also happy to learn that her father went golfing with Matthew.
"I’m glad you came here, Sophia." Aurora softly said.
"Thank you, dear. Oh, right—I cooked lunch for us and made a delicious cake just for you. "Son, you go check the venue; let Aurora eat first, or if you’re already hungry, follow us..."
Sophia took Aurora’s hand with a warm smile and softly guided her to the kitchen. At the same time, Alex watched in surprise as they walked away.
’Mom, how could you steal my wife?’ he chuckled inwardly, amused by how much his mother adored Aurora.
Alex let them into the kitchen and went outside to meet Alvin and Alan. He needed to check if they still needed anything.
"Boss, you’re here..." Alvin greeted Alex and moved closer.
"How is it, Alvin? Is everything alright?"
Alex glanced at the altar and the arch behind it, but there were no fresh roses yet, as they would be placed tomorrow afternoon. He saw several rows of chairs set up in front of the altar, all facing the beautiful blue sea in the distance.
Even though the decorations weren’t ready, standing there filled Alex with happiness. He imagined having a beautiful wedding there with Aurora, surrounded by their close family and friends.
"Yes, sir, the basic setup is already finished. Don’t worry, sir, everything will be done smoothly tomorrow. Ah, over there, Alan is still supervising the staff as they build the tent for the dinner party and dancing area..."
Alvin kept explaining as they walked toward the tent, getting closer to Alan.
...
As they discussed the details of tomorrow’s wedding party, Aurora sat on the kitchen island, savoring her cake and laughing at Tina and Sophia’s jokes.
Just as Aurora finished her last bite of vanilla cake, Tina approached her with a slice of another cake, this time a tempting chocolate one.
"My goodness, Aunty Tina, stop feeding me cake.... This sweetness overload will make me fat like a pig," Aurora said pleadingly, hesitant to eat it. But her eyes beamed as she looked at the cake.
Tina, who saw her, laughed before innocently asking, "Why, young madam? This is your favorite cake, right?"
"Ugh, I might not fit into my wedding gown tomorrow," Aurora protested. However, upon seeing a slice of chocolate cake, her hand automatically reached for the spoon.
"Heaven! Ma’am, it’s just a small slice. Trust me, it won’t make you gain weight." Tina giggled.
"Tina’s right, Aurora... Don’t worry at all. Just enjoy whatever you feel like eating," Sophia gently said as she placed another bowl of fresh, colorful fruit in front of her.
Aurora said nothing more; she obediently eats whatever they give her, as they continue their lively chat.
Not long after, Tina told her about her wedding gown.
"Oh, right, young madam, your wedding gown has already arrived. I placed it in your bedroom on the second floor."
"Wow, already arrived..." Aurora felt surprised. She remembered they’d said they could only send it here by noon. Did Alex push them? She was curious. And now she wanted to see it.
"Aurora, let’s head upstairs to take a look..." Sophia was eager to see her wedding gown.
They quickly left the kitchen and moved to the second floor.
...
Aurora was overjoyed to see her tea-length satin wedding dress.
The dress features a classic A-line tea-length silhouette, falling gracefully mid-calf, which gives it a playful yet sophisticated vibe, perfect for an outdoor or garden wedding.
The neckline is a stylish off-the-shoulder sweetheart design with delicate spaghetti straps, offering a balanced blend of charm and modern femininity. She chose this style simply because she wanted to move freely rather than wear something that restricted her movement.
She couldn’t wait to wear the dress and show it to Alex, but she needed to hide it for now.
"This is so pretty, Aurora..." Sophia’s words gently draw Aurora out of her thoughts. "Try it..."
"Yes, yes, young madam... I’d love to see it too!" Tina happily exclaimed, her eyes fixed on the beautiful wedding gown hanging before them.
But Aurora quickly shook her head, explaining that she wouldn’t be wearing it now because she wanted to surprise them and Alex.
Sophia hurriedly nods and agrees with Aurora.
"Oh, you are right. Hurry, hurry, hide it..."
"Hide what?"
Suddenly, Alex’s voice rang out from the door, catching all three of them by surprise.
Aurora quickly shut the walk-in closet door, feeling relieved that Alex didn’t see the gown.
"Hahaha, nothing," Sophia laughs, walking toward her son and gently pushing him aside. "Let’s go dine, Aurora, Alex..." She then steps out, guiding her son to the bedroom door.
"Mom, what happened? Why did you push me out?" Alex asked, confused, as he looked at Aurora, who smiled at him.
"Hurry, follow us, Aurora! You’re already hungry..." Sophie shouted and closed the bedroom door. Her hand linked to Alex’s arm to ensure he didn’t enter the bedroom.
Aurora could only chuckle as Sophia pulled Alex away from the room. She turned to Tina and asked her to hide the gown again before she followed her mother-in-law and husband.
...
When Aurora entered the dining room, she chuckled to herself after hearing Sophia lecturing Alex about being the perfect husband and avoiding making his wife unhappy.
She saw Alex only nod a few times and respond to his mother with a "Hmm... Yes... I will..."
After a moment, Aurora cleared her throat to inform them about her presence before sitting next to Alex.
When Sophia started serving their lunch, Alex leaned closer to Aurora and whispered, "Rory, tell me, what are you and Mom hiding?"
"My wedding gown! I can’t show it to you yet because I want to surprise you tomorrow."
Alex simply nods, saying nothing, but inside, he couldn’t help but laugh because he’d already seen it the day before.
