Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 214: Attending Renata and Danny’s Wedding
Chapter 214: Attending Renata and Danny’s Wedding
Days pass in the blink of an eye, and suddenly it’s May.
Quite a lot of things have changed for Aurora lately since Joe from Nubox Junction informed her about suspicious underground movements.
On that day, she promptly conducted an investigation and shared all her findings with Alex. She didn’t expect Alex to be so calm, unlike her, who could be panicked and worrisome.
When she curiously asked why he looked so calm, Alex told her those people were not the kind of people she should be worried about, let alone feared.
They simply wanted to identify his weaknesses through his wife, and he was confident that no one could easily defeat him by targeting her.
Nevertheless, Alex still asked Aurora to stop working at the office just to be on the safe side.
Since then, Aurora has only worked from home to continue her assignment of assisting the IT Department. She has fully requested that Alvin and Alan manage Alex’s schedule.
After reporting the entire investigation to Alex, Aurora also took steps to conceal and protect her true identity.
She does it with her utmost effort because it is imperative that no one can trace her to her connection with the Spencer Family in Opal City.
People only know about her university. In fact, all her personal data on campus is well protected. No one can access it except a select few within her university, and it cannot be accessed from outside the faculty or university.
Aurora has been enjoying her recent days. She is able to spend much of her time at home interacting with her father and focusing solely on her pregnancy.
She was happy that her morning sickness was gone entirely. Now, she was optimistic that she would feel more relaxed for the rest of the trimester.
...
When Aurora awoke this morning, she noticed Alex was not asleep beside her.
Glancing at the clock, she was surprised to see it was only six.
’Is he working out already?’ she murmured before grabbing her cell phone and checking important texts there.
Since last night, she has been communicating with Renata, who is getting married today.
Aurora was excited to attend but nervous because this was her first public appearance with Alex after they announced their marriage.
"Rory, why are you awake?" Alex’s voice from the door made Aurora stop scrolling on her cell phone and glance at the door. "Go sleep more; we still have time before we prepare to attend your friend’s wedding."
"I’m not sleepy anymore..." Aurora replied while waking up and sitting on the edge of the bed. She smiled to see he had indeed just finished his workout. "Why do you work out so early?"
Alex smiled while standing before her.
"Just like you, I woke up too early. I didn’t want to wake you, so I went upstairs to work out. Are you hungry?"
"A little..."
"Alright, I will take my shower faster before we go down," he said and rushed to the bathroom.
Before long,
As Aurora and Alex enter the dining room, they are welcomed by the mouthwatering aroma of a delicious breakfast prepared just for them.
Aurora’s eyes light up as she spots her favorite dish, and they begin to eat while discussing their plans for the day.
The wedding will be an intimate affair, attended only by family and close friends at a private venue owned by Renata’s family.
Instead of joining the banquet later that evening, Aurora will participate only in the ceremony because she already feels anxious about meeting the many guests invited. Renata mentioned that almost five hundred people are expected to attend.
She was grateful because Renata allowed her to attend only the wedding ceremony in the morning, as fewer guests would come and possibly only a small photographer or media would cover the wedding.
...
"Are you excited?" Alex asked, his voice filled with anticipation as he finally saw her in the beautiful dress. Though she was nine weeks pregnant, her baby bump was still barely visible.
Aurora wore a light blue, knee-length dress. She allowed her long gray hair to flow down her back.
"Yeah! I feel thrilled to attend their wedding party." Aurora’s eyes beamed as she urged Alex to finish putting on his dark blue suit that fit his masculine frame.
When they walk toward the stairs, Alex finally voices what has always bothered him lately.
"Rory, could we also have our wedding party?" Alex gently proposed, startling Aurora.
Aurora paused mid-step on the stairs, turning to him in wonder. It was the first time she had ever heard Alex voice these feelings.
She had never imagined hosting a wedding celebration, but just the thought of becoming Alex’s wife and feeling his deep love brought her joy.
But now?
After hearing his words, she feels confused. She didn’t know what to say.
She simply stared at him in silence.
Alex, noticing her silence, feels even more distressed since they only formalized their marriage without holding a celebration. "You know what, Rory? I feel like I’m an awful husband. Because I never gave you a proper wedding party..."
Aurora silently gulped.
"It’s fine, Alex. I didn’t really think the wedding ceremony was necessary."
A smile emerged on Aurora’s lips to reassure him that she was fine. But Alex could feel she wasn’t telling the truth.
Alex took her hand and squeezed it gently. He stared into her eyes briefly.
"Still, you deserved a wedding party too, Rory. If you worry about the hustle, we will only celebrate with our close friends and family. No need to invite too many people. How?"
"I’ll think about it! Just make sure not to make any decisions without me," she gently reminded him. She was worried, as Alex might set their wedding ceremony for next week.
Aurora added, "I also agree to a small gathering with close family and friends. I don’t want a large wedding like Renata’s, especially with all the media coverage now..."
Finally, Alex’s smile emerged on his lips, hearing her response.
"Got it, my pretty wife! Whenever you choose the date for our wedding party, I’ll be thrilled to take care of all the preparations," he said with a smile. "I really hope we can make it happen before the baby arrives!"
"Hmm, Alex, we should leave now, or we’ll be late..."
...
As they arrived at a private club, the family guests had already filled the wedding hall.
Aurora lingered there for a while, accompanying Alex to talk with a few guests—Alex’s acquaintances.
But later, Aurora excused herself and allowed Alex to continue talking to other guests; she went straight to the bride’s room to meet Renata.
On her way to find Renata’s waiting room, she encountered Max and David.
"Oh, Aurora... You look so damn pretty!" David genuinely praised as he walked toward her.
"Thank you, David! I know I always look pretty... but let’s talk about you; you look quite different in that suit. Well, you look decent," she grinned at him, noticing him roll his eyes; he just didn’t quite share her playfulness.
"What on earth, Aurora Spencer? Could you just admit that I’m handsome?" David complains.
However, Aurora has shifted her attention from David to Max. "Could you guide me to Rena’s waiting room?"
"Sure! We are also about to visit her..." Max gestured for her to follow him.
...
Aurora was taken aback when she noticed her best friend looking unlike her usual self.
Today, she had chosen minimal makeup, appearing simple yet radiant; she looked gorgeous and innocent. Her black hair was styled into a lovely bun, adorned with a delicate tiara that enhanced her beauty even more.
"Oh my goodness, Rena..." Aurora stepped closer, her vision blurring as happy tears filled her eyes. "You look stunning in that dress, my friend." She longed to hug her, but hesitated, too worried about ruining her pretty wedding gown.
She stood just a few steps away from her bed, gazing at her friend from head to toe, quietly admiring her beauty.
Renata smiles happily at Aurora, but she feels overwhelmed when she sees her eyes glistening with tears. She tries her best to hold back her own tears, glancing up at the ceiling and taking several deep breaths. She doesn’t want to ruin her makeup.
"Thank you, Rory! I’m so happy you came, girl..." Renata finally found her voice and tried to hold Aurora’s hand, inviting her to sit beside her.
"I’m sorry, Rena... I’m late," Aurora confesses. Discussing her own wedding with Alex before arriving here delayed them by about fifteen minutes.
"No. Naturally, you arrived at the right moment. Where’s Alex?"
"He is outside talking with a few influential guests."
"I’m so grateful he came too." Renata expresses her genuine happiness as she turns to see Max and David standing in the doorway.
"Why are you all just standing there? Come, come... Take a moment to admire my beauty before my husband stops you." Renata said playfully.
David laughed upon hearing Renata’s words, "Sister Renata, you look pretty."
"Yeah, I know that, David. Thank you..." She offered a warm smile to David before turning to Max, "Could you please take a photo of me and Rory?"
After they took a few pictures together, someone finally came in to announce that the wedding ceremony would start soon.
