CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 278: Brine Pirate
In front of Mater, a fish-head man holding a large whale tooth as a sword. He was not higher in rank compared to Mater. In fact, they were exactly the same level.
The black panther could feel the Medium Rank-2 Power from him.
However, he was not a Chaos User. Nor the user of any of the other Primordial Forces. He was not a demon, nor an abomination, nor an undead.
He was a pirate.
The fish-head pirate raised the tooth sword and placed its on his shoulder. He chugged his jaw toward Mater’s direction. A simple but provoking gesture.
"Where’re you from, anarch?" The pirate said.
Anarch was a term hell like to use. It was a word referring to Chaos User like Mater. His body emanated a Chaos so thick that it couldn’t be hidden.
In other places, maybe he could hide it. But in the hell brine, where Chaos was most lacking, Mater was similar to a beacon.
The panther squinted its eyes. It didn’t bother speaking with its enemy.
A Nether Beam shot out from its mouth aiming at the fish pirate.
The pirate wasn’t stupid enough to take it. He jumped forward, turning into a hammerhead fish and dove into the water. The pirate moved at a speed that was even faster than Crow’s Abyssal Dash.
He quickly got underneath Mater and shot up. The pirate turned back to his half-humanoid form and thrusted his tooth sword forward.
Mater didn’t back down. He curled into a ball and shot downwards, clashing with the pirate. The spikes collided with the yellowish tooth and released a shockwave to the surrounding area.
Mater and the pirate were pushed back, falling back to their domain, sky and ocean.
Bubbles climbed from the mouth of the pirate to the water surface. When they burst, the pirate’s voice echoed.
"You’re pretty strong! What’s your name, anarch?"
"You’re pretty strong too, pirate." Mater refused to give his name.
The panther barraged the water with Nether Beams. But it was too slow for the fish-head pirate. The pirate transformed into a fish and dashed in the air, creating white stream behind them.
"You can’t catch me with this! Hahaha!"
The fish-head pirate jumped out of the water surface. He turned back to his half-humanoid form briefly to cut the air twice.
Suddenly, the saltwater around Mater shot up. Two water tentacles whipped at Mater with the same motion as the pirate did.
They slammed on the pink Layered Force Dome and caused it to shake greatly. But the forcefield stayed on.
"Damn it! You anarchs are always full of tricks!"
The pirate returned to the water and continued to roam. He left after images behind him. Each of them became alive and started to roam around in the water too.
"Clones, huh? Or is it illusions?" Mater’s deep voice echoed.
"Finally decided to speak." The voice of the pirate echoed.
Suddenly, one pirate jumped out of the water and attacked Mater. He splashed onto the pink forcefield and turned into water.
"So it is a clone."
Then more cloned pirates jumped out of the water to attack Mater. Most of them were fake, but one was real.
The whale tooth pierced through the barrier.
"Got you!" The pirate shouted.
A fire vortex enveloped around the panther and it disappeared before the tooth could hurt it.
Mater reappeared right behind the pirate, "You like some Hellfire?"
Mater stole Infernal Rays from Solarix and used it. Three rays of pure Hellfire power shot at the back of the pirate. They exploded into three balls of Hellfire.
The pirate disintegrated into water again.
"I said... I got you!"
The real pirate shot out from beneath Mater and thrusted the whale tooth at the opening of the Abyssal Armor.
The tooth pierced through two layers of Force Dome and stopped. It couldn’t continue any more.
"What?" Orange chains wrapped around the pirate from beneath.
The pirate looked down to see a Hellfire circle had appeared from nowhere.
"When did..." The Hellfire circle pulled the pirate down and at the same time, shot out three waves of Hellfire at him.
The pirate covered his face with his forearms. But the damage was much less than what he imagined. The Hellfire burned through his skin and into his bones, of which began to self-heal quickly.
Mater used that opening window to slam onto the back of the pirate as a spike ball.
Both of them fell into the ocean floor.
The pirate immediately transformed into a fish and dashed away.
"You’re in my hometown now, anarch!"
The water around Mater became denser and pressed into him. A sphere was created, trapping Mater inside.
"Kraken helps me!" The fish-head pirate shouted and sliced into the water.
Two large tentacles appeared and slapped into Mater.
The black cat grinned. A fire vortex once again enveloped him as he disappeared.
The tentacles slapped onto nothing.
"Ugh! I hate teleporters!" The pirate said.
The fish-head man bit the whale tooth. He clasped his two hands together and began to channel the power of the brine. The water around him began to vibrate. A projection of a huge water whale began to appear beneath the pirate.
Mater had already gone above the water again. He bit the Eternal Sword in his mouth again and charged it with Nether Beams like last time.
"I really don’t want to fight with you, pirate. I just need to destroy that thing."
The sword pulsed brighter and brighter until it was filled with purple.
"What is that panther trying to do?!" The fish-head man flooded more of his power out. The water whale materialized quicker but was a little bit more fragile than normal.
It swam around the fish-head man before rushing to the water surface. The whale jumped off the ocean and continued flying toward the black panther, who was high above.
"Eternal Beam!"
The black cat bit down on the sword’s handle and swung it. A giant purple beam swiped across the whale and pushed it back down into the water.
"Shit! This attack is no joke! Better get away."
The fish-head man was about to control the whale to swim away with him. But suddenly, he remembered something.
He turned back to see the giant ritual circle in the bottom of the ocean. If he swam away, the circle would not survive this attack.
"Cunning anarch..."
