Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 209: Secret!
Chapter 209: Secret!
Renata’s eyes beamed as she leaned to whisper to Aurora, "May first..."
"Wow, that was fast..." Aurora was stunned that it was only a few weeks away.
"Yeah! We are envious of you and Alex. That’s why we decided to get married faster..." Danny answered. He chuckled, finding it amusing that Aurora rolled her eyes while smiling.
"You must come, Rory, and bring your hubby along too!" Renata said.
"I will make sure to come. Well, guys, once again, congratulations. I’m so happy for you both..." Aurora genuinely promised and embraced Renata happily.
Later,
A waitress approached to take Aurora’s order. At that moment, she only noticed Max and the others sitting at the other table.
Aurora glanced at their table and was surprised to see Max’s dark expression. He looked as if he didn’t want to be there and ignored David and Josh, who seemed serious in their conversation.
’Why did Max suddenly become moody? Did someone provoke him!?’
Aurora wonders, and when she spots Danny, a light chuckle escapes her lips—she knows the source of Max’s annoyance.
She narrowed her eyes at Danny, "Why does Max seem to dislike you? He didn’t even want to join our table?" freewebnøvel.coɱ
Danny let out a deep sigh before responding. "Well, Rory... this is all because of you."
Aurora was shocked to hear that. Why did she become the source of Max’s annoyance when he had seemed so fun before they arrived at this restaurant?
"Me? Why me?"
"Because I didn’t tell him about your death. He hated me..." Danny shrugs and goes back to finishing his salad.
"Unbelievable... Why is he sulking about that?" Aurora chuckled softly as she turned to see Max and the others. "Come join us over here, guys! Why are you sitting way over there?"
"That’s okay, Aurora, we’ll eat here," Max said, refocusing his attention on his cell phone.
"David? You could join us here..." Aurora fixed her gaze on him.
"I’ll eat here with them." David smiled.
Aurora was speechless. What is the point of insisting on inviting her to lunch with them if they sit at a separate table like they are now?
After she tried to ask Josh, but he also seemed reluctant to move to her table, she gave up and asked them to move.
She simply focuses on continuing her conversation with Renata and Danny about their unexpected wedding plans while enjoying lunch together.
A troubling thought crossed Aurora’s mind after a few more minutes of conversation. She couldn’t help but ask Renata, "Are you pregnant? That’s why you guys rushed the wedding?"
Renata was utterly taken aback, absorbing her words before she finally burst into laughter, unable to believe what she had just heard.
"Wow, Rory, your creativity is truly amazing! Of course not..." Renata responds with a playful smile, gently pinching her cheek.
"Oops, sorry, my dear friends..." Aurora feels guilty about asking her about the pregnancy. She was just too happy to think they were pregnant simultaneously.
"I forgive you because you’re simply adorable..." Renata chuckled.
Danny frowned as he observed the two women before him, their quiet giggles intertwining with whispers.
He became curious and asked, "What’s going on? Why are you both sharing secrets?"
Aurora turned to Danny and replied, "I just asked Rena if you two rushed the wedding because she’s pregnant. I apologize if I seem overly excited about you both expecting a little one..." She said this casually, but Danny looked surprised by her words.
"Rory, how did you find that out? Yes, we’re expecting!"
"Oh my god! Are you serious?" Aurora gasped in surprise. She didn’t expect her guess to be correct.
Aurora looked at Danny and Renata, then continued: "Wait. Wait. When did you two start sleeping together? I distinctly remember both of you refusing my dating suggestions every time I mentioned them."
Danny wanted to respond to Aurora happily, but Renata interrupted him.
"For God’s sake, Danny! You’re such a traitor. You promised me you’d keep that a secret, but..." Renata sighed deeply, unable to finish her thought. She merely shot Danny a scolding gaze.
"Oops, my bad, Rena..." Danny smiled. He was simply too excited to share the news with Aurora.
"My goodness, Rena, why are you scolding Danny?" Aurora chimed in. She focused intently on Rena, her expression softening as she added, "You know, Rena, it truly makes me sad that you didn’t think to share this wonderful news with me..." Taking a gentle pause, she allowed her feelings of disappointment to show.
"Sorry, Rory..." Renata feels bad because she is hiding her pregnancy.
Aurora leans closer and tries to cheer up Renata: "You know, there’s really no reason to feel shy about pregnancy before marriage. It’s not something that others will judge you for."
Renata amusedly observed Aurora’s misunderstanding of her feelings. She then took Aurora’s hand and patted it gently.
"Rory, my friends, of course I’m not shy. I just wanted to tell you when the right time is. And definitely not now..."
"Well, I’m glad to hear that, Rena," Aurora said, slightly relieved.
"Oh, let me share a secret with you, too." Aurora leaned in, whispering to ensure that only Renata could hear her words. "I’m pregnant as well..." She paused, noticing Renata’s eyes widen in shock. "Girl, you need to keep this to yourself. This is a secret!"
"Oh my, why are we both expecting a baby at the same time, Rory?" Renata’s eyes fill with happy tears.
When Renata learned she was pregnant, she prayed that Aurora would also be pregnant. Now, her prayer has been granted, and she feels so grateful.
Renata hugs her best friend before they continue to enjoy their lunch.
However, before they could fully enjoy their food, Danny suddenly distracted their attention once more, asking, "Why are you both still whispering to each other?"
Renata stared at Danny with a suspicious smile before she warned Aurora, "Rory, don’t tell him..."
"You two are so funny! How could you keep a secret from me?" Danny was left speechless.
Yet, Renata and Aurora continue to ignore him as they merrily enjoy their fantastic lunch.
...
Renata’s restaurant is indeed never disappointing. The excellent food and ambiance have made lunchtime fly by so fast. As they finished lunch, Aurora and the others returned to Stardust Tower.
Before heading back to the fiftieth floor, David stopped her. He inquired about the graduation ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, fully aware that Aurora’s anxiety might keep her from bringing her family along.
"So, have you made a decision about tomorrow’s graduation ceremony?"
Upon hearing David’s question, Aurora’s expression darkened again.
She had already shared her concerns with Alex, yet he had stayed silent about the issue until now.
Right now, she’s feeling confused but curious about what he has planned. Is he really going to tag along with her? It seems like a chat with him later could help clear things up.
"Don’t worry, Aurora. We also won’t be bringing our family tomorrow..." Max said, noticing Aurora’s troubled expression.
"Yeah, don’t be sad. We will accompany you." David smiles, attempting to lift her mood.
However, Aurora, having overheard their conversation, was amazed. She recalls that they both still have parents. Why hadn’t they brought them tomorrow? This left her feeling confused.
"What are you saying, Max? David? Why didn’t you two bring your families tomorrow?"
After seeing them say nothing and only stare at her, she continued, "Don’t tell me you didn’t inform your parents about it?"
David quickly shook his head, "Oh my, I definitely informed them. However, they are both currently out of the country and won’t be able to return tomorrow." He explained.
Aurora still found it weird. How could they not plan to attend their son’s graduation unless David informed them only a few days before the event?
Aurora looks at Max, "What about you, Max? Just like David, my parents are overseas. They can’t make it either, and honestly, I don’t mind whether they come or spend the morning in other places."
Max shared his thoughts calmly, and Aurora couldn’t help but feel that his excuse was slightly unusual.
And just like that, they will attend their graduation solo tomorrow. No family will be present for their graduation.
Aurora feels a bit happy to have a friend coming alone, just like her.
...
The next day.
Alex departs from the house, mentioning that he has a business meeting out of town and won’t be back this afternoon.
She feels relieved; at least he won’t show up at her graduation and cause a scene.
Aurora finally arrives at the ceremony hall and waits for it to begin. She sits with Max and Danny in the middle row.
The invited guests arrived one by one, and just before the event was about to start, the students in the front row cheered as a few men entered the area and walked toward the VIP guest seated.
"What the hell! Is that Alex?" David asked.
"And Patrick!" Max added.
Aurora gasped, surprised that Alex came to her graduation ceremony as a VIP guest.
