Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 210: I Nearly Fainted When You Showed Up!
Chapter 210: I Nearly Fainted When You Showed Up!
’My goodness, Alexander Graystone! So is it your business trip to come here?’ Aurora grabbed her cell phone and texted him.
"You need to share your plan with me, Alex. I nearly fainted when you showed up."
After sending the text, Aurora turned her gaze toward Alex while scolding him in her mind.
"Do you know if he will attend our graduation?" David asked with a curious smile. "Oh, are you guys going to announce your relationship today?"
Aurora let out a deep sigh before she replied, "Not today! And he didn’t tell me about it. I’m as surprised as you guys..."
David can’t help but laugh. He shoots his gaze to Alex as he whispers, "Damn it! I can’t believe my cousin pulled this prank."
Without saying a word, Aurora glanced at her cell phone upon feeling it vibrate again. When she believed it was Alex who responded to her text, she was surprised to find out it was her mother-in-law, Sophia.
"Aurora, check the parents’ section. It’s on the upper left corner."
Aurora quickly turned her head in that direction, and her heart nearly leaped out when she saw Sophia waving at her.
’Oh my goodness! Why is Sophia also here?’ Aurora was lost for words. She stared at the scene, needing to look several times to confirm she wasn’t imagining it.
Another message arrived.
"I came to take my sister’s place to accompany David. And I’m here to support you since I heard Alex wouldn’t be coming. But it seems Alex did show up!"
Aurora sighed softly and waved slightly at Sophia, then nudged David, saying, "Hey, someone come to accompany you..."
David frowned as he glanced at Aurora. "What? Who? Nah, that’s impossible! My parents can’t come; they are somewhere in Pattaya Beach, Thailand, and it would take nearly two days to get here by commercial flight."
"Well, I didn’t say it was your parents. But you need to look over there," Aurora pointed towards Sophia.
"Oh my goodness! Aunty Sophie? She’s the one who comes for me? How do you know that, Aurora? Maybe she is coming for you?" Just like Aurora, David was equally taken aback and amazed.
She didn’t answer it but passed her phone to David so he could read Sophia’s message.
"What on earth! My dad must contact Aunt Sophie," David said, completely bewildered.
When Aurora and David were utterly shocked by their family, Max calmly commented, "Congrats, guys! Now, I’m the only one who is alone here..." He smiled bitterly.
However, Max’s smile will soon fade as Aurora receives another text message at the same time.
"Girl! Where are you sitting? I’m here with Danny. His parents forced him to come, but he didn’t want to. I immediately dragged him here when I found out about it because I wanted to see you."
Aurora found herself speechless while reading a message from Renata.
’What on earth is going on? Why did everyone decide to come to my graduation?’ She can’t believe all her family and friends are here for her special occasion. This graduation is not her graduation but Aurora Spencer’s. Nevertheless, she feels grateful.
Aurora sent a message to Renata and quickly noticed her and Danny near Sophia’s seating area.
"Maxwell, try not to be too happy, my friend. Your family is here as well..." Aurora shows Max her cell phone so he can read Renata’s message.
Max’s face instantly stiffened as he followed Aurora’s gesture toward a specific direction. Upon seeing his older brother looking back at them, he couldn’t resist cursing at him.
"Don’t blame him; he didn’t want to attend. Rena insisted he come because she wanted to see my graduation." Aurora patted his shoulder, trying to lift his mood.
...
The event began with the traditional opening speeches, which seemed rather dull. Following a brief pause, the eagerly awaited graduation moment finally arrived.
Aurora was almost speechless when she heard the MC call her name as the recipient of the Best Student award in the Computer Science faculty. She proudly became the first student to ascend the stage and receive her award and graduation certificate.
Suddenly, the thunderclap echoes in the hall, and everyone tries to find her.
She remains in disbelief about what happened, turning to Max and David in shock.
"What the...? Why wasn’t I informed earlier?"
"They never informed the recipient because it’s a surprise. However, everyone already knows that you’re the strong candidate." Max chuckled as he observed Aurora’s perplexed expression.
"Aurora, you need to move now. Don’t keep them waiting." David smiles to lessen Aurora’s stress.
This is the first time Aurora feels slightly nervous as she becomes the center of attention since her rebirth.
She can feel every pair of eyes directed at her. What makes her even more nervous is that Alex, Sophia, and her best friend are all here with her.
’Calm down, Rory! Calm down!!’ Aurora tried to calm her mind while walking faster towards the stage.
Aurora feels amused because this is not her first graduation; however, the tension she feels now remains the same as when she first graduated from this university.
As she received her certificate from the dean and made her way toward the stairs, she was taken aback when the host called her to pause for a moment to accept a bouquet of flowers from the guest of honor.
Aurora felt a tightening in her heart as she turned to Alex, watching him rise from his seat and walk toward her.
’Oh my goodness! Could he have planned this too?’ Aurora was absolutely speechless.
She tried to act as casually as possible; however, her heart raced when she saw him standing before her and presenting her with the beautiful banquet flowers. She felt instantly overwhelmed with happiness.
"Congratulations, my love..." Alex murmured, gently shaking her hand.
"Thank you, Mr. Graystone! You are such a lovely hubby..." She smiled warmly, though inside, she couldn’t help but scold him.
When Aurora was about to leave the stage, the MC stopped her once more and asked her to stay for the photograph.
She gladly accepted, and the photographer and Patrick began taking their picture just like that.
"We will go for lunch together to celebrate..." he whispered when they finally left the stage.
"Your mom, Renata, and also Danny were here. We will have lunch with them..." Aurora hurriedly informed him.
When Aurora saw Alex’s expression slightly change, she knew he must not have known about his mother.
"Why are they here?" Alex frowned slightly.
"Well, you should check your text, Mr. Graystone..." Aurora replied before leaving him and hurrying to her seat.
All the people in the hall no longer looked in her direction; they were curious to see the stage. Aurora felt relieved when she made her way to her seat.
...
After the ceremony, Aurora and the others will gather at a luxury restaurant owned by the Stardust Group to celebrate their graduation.
The restaurant was closed, and they were served exclusively. A long table was set in the middle of the room, just enough for them to sit at one table.
When Aurora arrives at the restaurant with Alex, she is surprised to see her father-in-law and father already there. And to add to her surprise, Tina and Martin were there, too. Everyone from her past and present lives had gathered there.
She tightened her grip on Alex’s hand, overwhelmed with joy at seeing everyone celebrate together.
Aurora looked to meet his eyes and whispered, "Thank you, Alex...you are so sweet and kind today..."
Alex’s warm smile graces his lips.
"Well, this is your special day. All the people you cherish will be here to celebrate with you," Alex said as he led her to their seat.
Soon, the long table was finally full when everyone arrived.
They began their late lunch with a lively and friendly chat.
...
After nearly an hour, Aurora, her family, and friends wrapped up their lunch and engaged in an intimate conversation.
However,
Suddenly, David stood up from his chair. He approached Max, who sat alone at a small table by the window in the garden.
"Max, check Instagram and campus forums!" David said, sitting in front of Max, his eyes still focused on his cell phone screen.
Reluctant to do so, Max asked, "What’s wrong? Can you just tell me?" he narrowed his eyes on David.
"Aurora, she is a trending topic now! Hurry, you need to read it!"
"What do you mean?" Max asked again as he took out his cell phone.
Max was stunned when he saw his social media accounts and the campus forum.
Alex and Aurora’s short videos from their graduation have become a trending topic. Many comments have started to say they are adorable and have suggested that they should date.
"Aurora will be mad. She always hides her marriage to Alex; now those people are starting to ship them..." David commented, chuckling.
"David, you should tell her. She probably doesn’t know." Max suggested.
