Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 207: Zee is Married?
Chapter 207: Zee is Married?
The long day has finally ended.
It was a long and exhausting day for Aurora. After Alex broke the big news to his parents about her pregnancy, she couldn’t escape from Sophia after dinner.
Sophia opened the 101 Pregnancy class and explained many dos and don’ts to her.
Aurora felt grateful to hear her mother-in-law’s explanation, but Sophia continued talking until eleven at night. She couldn’t avoid it; her mind was becoming hazy as she felt incredibly sleepy.
Fortunately, Alex came to her rescue. He asked his mother to stop and said they could continue tomorrow morning.
...
Aurora and Alex could only settle into bed around midnight. She feels exhausted. Yet, moments after shutting her eyes, a thought struck her, and her drowsiness vanished immediately.
Her eyes widened again as she looked up to see him, whether or not he was asleep. She was surprised to find his eyes still open, now staring at her.
"Why aren’t you sleeping yet?" Alex asked gently, a hint of concern in his voice as he noticed her unease. "You don’t feel comfortable sleeping in my arms?"
Aurora smiled before she said, "I feel comfortable; it’s just that there’s something I want to ask you."
"What is it?" Alex asked with a slight frown. "Can we discuss it tomorrow? You look exhausted already, dear."
Aurora immediately shook her head and refused it. She needed to know his plan for attending her graduation, or she couldn’t sleep.
"Alex... Are you serious about coming to my graduation?"
"Of course. Wait. You didn’t want me there for your graduation?" His tone expressed surprise, and disappointment flickered in his eyes.
Aurora sighed instead of responding. She envisioned how having Alex by her side during graduation would surely create quite a stir on campus, turning all the female students, especially those in her class, into her new enemy.
She knows that the female students in her faculty deeply admire him, and Alex becomes their ideal boyfriend or future husband in their imaginations.
Just thinking about it makes her exhausted. This is one reason she didn’t want him to come. But now, looking disappointed in his eyes, she feels puzzled.
"I feel sad knowing you didn’t want me to come, Rory... I’m your only family. Why you—" Alex’s voice trailed off as Aurora gently placed her finger on his mouth, urging him to pause.
Aurora smiled as she looked into his disappointed eyes. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Alex, I want you there. But did you know that my enemy will double once you attend my graduation?"
"W-What?" Alex stammered, puzzled. "What does it mean?"
She informed him about his die-hard female fans in her faculty. They would surely hate her if they learned that a handsome and charismatic billionaire, Alexander Graystone, was attending her graduation.
Aurora didn’t mind if Alex announced their wedding after her graduation ceremony. Still, she didn’t want it to happen on the day she graduated.
Alex remained silent for a moment after hearing her explanation. He understood her reason, but he also wanted to come. How could she leave her alone there?
After a moment, something crosses Alex’s mind, and a smile appears on his lips, enough to confuse Aurora.
’Did he agree to come or not? Why does he appear so happy?’ she wonders.
"Alex, why are you smiling? Did you finally agree you won’t come?" she asked curiously.
"Alright, my pretty wife... You need to sleep now. I will tell you my plan tomorrow," Alex said as he wrapped his arm around her and rested his chin on her head.
Aurora no longer asked him; he was right—she could barely open her eyes because she was too sleepy.
...
The next day.
After their parents had left, Aurora and Alex also left the house and headed to the office.
Aurora must meet with Patrick to address concerns about the gaming division. They were heading directly to Alex’s office, where Patrick was waiting.
As soon as they stepped into the office, Patrick’s beaming gaze fell on Aurora. Excited, he invited her to join him on the sofa, completely ignoring Alex, who was not pleased to see him.
"Alex, it’s time for work. I will talk to Patrick alone," Aurora said gently, nudging him toward his work table, then joining Patrick on the sofa.
...
Aurora sat across from Patrick, observing his distress. It was amusing that this man wanted to meet Zee yet did not recognize the person sitting before him.
"Why do you look so stressed, Patrick?" she smiled at him, trying to lift his mood, but his expression stayed the same.
"Can you update me on your conversation with Zee? Did she actually discover who the spy in our office is? How could someone leak information about our game to social media?" Patrick asked everything at once.
"Yes, I did talk to her. And, Patrick, you don’t have to worry, there’s no spy in our company..." Aurora said calmly, but Patrick was shocked to hear that.
His frown became more apparent on his forehead as he asked, "What on earth...? Zee said that to you?"
"Hmm, that’s what I heard..."
Before Aurora could finish her words, Patrick interrupted her. "But why are so many gamer fans talking about a game we haven’t even promoted yet?"
Patrick was perplexed, and Aurora could only take a deep breath, hearing his words. She thought this man would stop asking.
Aurora regrets promoting the project without consulting him, only discussing it with Alex and the head of the games division, believing Patrick would not complain.
"Patrick, you’re worrying too much. Why are you so focused on the game division now? I thought you mentioned to Alex that you didn’t like them?"
Patrick chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Oh, come on; they’re part of my team. Of course, I care. When someone from the game division informed me about that issue, I took swift action, but I needed Zee to investigate if a spy was involved. It would be problematic if someone were to steal our unreleased game, right?"
"You should ask me first. Did you forget I’m a part of that project and I know more about it? Why, asked Zee?" Aurora asked.
Since Alex knows about her identity as Aurora Moon, he allows her to return to her usual job, including assisting the IT department. She continued to help them with their game project just like she did in the past.
"Damn it, Aurora, I called you too, but you didn’t answer my call..." Patrick replied.
He intended to say more, but lost his train of thought when he heard Alex clear his throat as if to get his attention. Turning to glance in Alex’s direction, he was at a loss for words, noticing his angry stare aimed at him.
Aurora smiles when something crosses her mind. She narrows her eyes at Patrick. "Did you talk to their director?" she asks.
Patrick turned to see Aurora again and replied, "No. He is on leave and can’t be reached."
"Patrick, do you like Zee?"
"Yes. Why do you even—" Patrick’s voice trailed off instantly when he realized Aurora was trapping him with that question. He felt a rush of heat reach his face; he blushed.
Aurora can’t help but chuckle.
"I knew it! You’re only interested in a genius IT woman, Patrick," Aurora said with excitement. She felt a rush of joy as her suspicion was confirmed. It makes sense now why Patrick often attempted to bypass going through her, trying by himself to chat directly with Zee.
Patrick, "...."
Alex, who heard that, stopped signing the document and lifted his head to look at Patrick and Aurora. A deep frown now appeared on his forehead. He couldn’t believe Patrick had once fallen for Aurora Moon and now liked Zee.
When Aurora noticed him remaining silent and scolded her with his glare, she kept teasing him.
"Patrick, there’s no need to feel shy. I suggest you connect with women from different fields instead. It’s best to avoid pursuing Zee because she is not available..." She calmly said.
Patrick was surprised upon hearing Aurora’s words. He hurriedly asked, "What do you mean she is unavailable?"
Before Aurora could respond to Patrick, suddenly Alex’s voice could be heard, "Zee is married!"
"What? She is married?" Patrick asked. He doubted Alex’s claim. He knew Alex only wanted to tease him, just like Aurora had.
Alex didn’t answer him; he instead walked over to join them in the seating area.
"Tsk, tsk...You both really match each other. You guys are always teasing me! Can’t you both stop it?" Patrick shook his head.
Aurora and Alex are speechless. They only exchange glances while smiling.
"Man, I’m serious. Why would I make jokes about something like that?" Alex said.
Patrick’s expression gradually stiffened when he saw how serious Alex was. "And how do you know that?"
Alex didn’t rush to answer him; he glanced at Aurora and took her hand. Lovingly, he squeezed it gently before he turned his gaze back on Patrick.
"You want to know how I know that?"
Patrick nods; he is curious.
"Because I married her!"
Alex’s words nearly made Patrick cough up a mouthful of blood.
