Chapter 205: He Feels Jealous

A few minutes later, Alex’s cell phone rang. His smile widened as he saw Aurora’s name on the screen.

"Did I wake you with my call? I apologize if I disturbed your nap..." Alex said, sounding anxious.

"No, I don’t have time to nap, Alex. I’m busy talking with your mom..."

"Why is my mother still there? Is this almost five—"

...

Aurora chuckled softly upon hearing Alex’s protest from the other end.

"After she heard you wouldn’t return home for dinner with me, she plans to stay to keep me company."

"Well, glad to hear that. At least you won’t be alone! I’m sorry, my love. I hope my dinner meeting won’t keep me tied up too long."

"It’s okay, Alex. You don’t need to hurry home. I won’t be lonely here. I heard your father will be joining us for dinner as well. And—"

Aurora could not finish her words as Alex interrupted in surprise, "What? Why would Dad also join you?"

His jealous tone from the other end made her laugh.

"Naturally, he wanted to join us at the diner..." she joked lightly. "Besides, your mother mentioned they would be staying overnight here."

"Unbelievable! How could they make that decision without consulting me first?"

Alex chuckled, finding it amusing that his parents must be thrilled to have the chance to stay over since he couldn’t join Aurora for dinner.

Aurora smiled softly, not wanting to make him feel annoyed. She quickly found a way to distract him and asked why he had called her.

"Haven’t you checked your text yet?" Alex asked.

"No, because I called you immediately when I saw your missed call. What is it?"

Alex promptly shared Patrick’s concerns with her. After explaining the game division issue, he couldn’t help but voice his frustrations regarding Patrick’s attitude.

"That ridiculous Patrick truly bothered me. He directed some rude words at you... I mean Zee! I can’t believe he swore at you for receiving a substantial sum from the company because you never replied to his message."

Aurora laughed at Alex’s annoyance.

"Relax, there’s no reason to be upset about that, Alex..."

"I find that really frustrating. Rory, do you think we need to disclose your identity to him?" Alex asked. But quickly, he changed his mind. "No. No. It’s best not to! Sharing that information with anyone else is risky."

Aurora had wanted to tell Patrick about Zee a few times, but Alex always stopped her.

"Alex, I’m okay with you telling him. We can trust him," she suggested.

"I will think about it. But, for now, there’s no need. It wasn’t necessary," Alex said with gentle firmness.

"Okay, but if you find him annoying, just tell him so!"

"Hmm, alright. I will. Oh, by the way... What about the game division? Can you check if a spy leaks the company’s secret project?" Alex asked in concern.

Instead of replying, Aurora laughed, leaving Alex confused.

"Why are you happy there’s a spy in the company?"

"There are absolutely no spies within the company. However, I purposefully disclosed information about the game to generate excitement and as part of a promotional event." Aurora chuckled.

She added, "But no worries! Even if someone tries to copy the idea, they have a long way to go because I only share less than ten percent of the real game. Ugh, Patrick is just worrying too much. A wee paranoia, that guy."

"What? Why didn’t you let me know, Rory!? If I had known, I wouldn’t let Patrick curse you..."

"Oh God, Alex! I told you... But it felt like you weren’t paying attention back then."

Aurora chuckled, recalling what she had told him after their love-making session. Clearly, he wouldn’t remember, as his thoughts were only focused elsewhere.

"Really? Why don’t I remember?" Alex asked, looking a bit puzzled and curious.

"Well, Mr. Graystone, perhaps you forgot because I mentioned it after our private moment. I mean, our making love session..."

In an instant, Alex’s warm laughter echoed from the other end.

"No wonder I forgot about it. My love, next time, make sure you tell me not after we do that... I definitely wouldn’t remember it."

"I will, sir. I won’t repeat that again..." Aurora chuckles.

After chatting briefly about a few things, Alex finally ended the call.

Aurora took a little nap before dinner, enjoying some peaceful moments to recharge her energy.

...

Later,

Aurora woke up only when she heard Tina’s voice coming from the door.

She was surprised to see that the sky was already dark.

"Aunty Tina, why did you just wake me up now?"

Aurora asks, sitting on the edge of the bed with a sleepy frown as she wraps her hair into a simple bun.

"I try too, but, of course, your mother-in-law stops me. She mentioned that you need a bit more rest." Tina smiles warmly at Aurora, who just shrugs. "She is just so kind to you. I’m happy for you..."

"Hmm, agree. She is kind."

"Do you feel better now?" Tina asked with concern as she noticed Aurora massaging her eyebrow.

"I’m fine. I only feel a slight headache. Maybe I woke up too fast. Have they started dinner yet?"

Aurora was surprised to see the digital watch on the bedside, thirty minutes past their usual dinner time.

Tina shook her head, "Not yet. They are waiting for you..."

"What! Aunty, you should wake me up early?"

Instantly, Aurora stood up from the bed. She felt bad about making her in-laws wait for her for dinner.

Tina chuckles warmly at Aurora, who looks a bit panicked. She followed her out of the bedroom.

"You don’t have to rush. Besides, they let you sleep longer... They also wait for Master Alex to return. He is on the way."

Aurora abruptly halted her step and turned to see Tina behind her. She was surprised to hear Alex coming home now when he was supposed to be at his dinner meeting.

"Did you say Alex will be joining us for dinner?" Aurora asked, anxious she might have misheard.

"Yes. Master Alex just called a few minutes ago. I’m sure he is arriving now any minute," Tina answered chirpily. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Aurora was rendered speechless. She can’t believe Alex canceled his dinner meeting.
