Chapter 204: Curse Zee!

At Stardust Group.

Patrick rushes to the 50th floor to find Aurora.

However, just as Patrick was about to knock on the door, Alvin suddenly asked, "Hi Patrick, are you looking for Lady Boss?"

"Yeah!" Patrick halted and looked at Alvin approaching him. "I have an urgent matter I need her to check. But I called her landline, and she didn’t answer. Is she busy? Or might she be out with Alex?"

"No. She didn’t come to the office today," Alvin answered as he walked toward Alex’s office.

"Oh, she didn’t come? Why?" Patrick asked, following Alvin.

"I don’t know. She didn’t tell me anything particular. Lady Boss only said she wanted to get some rest today..."

Alvin replied while knocking on the door. After hearing Alex ask him to come in, he opened it and walked inside, with Patrick trailing behind.

Patrick was surprised to hear that Aurora didn’t come today. Hurriedly, he walked past Alvin as he approached Alex’s table.

"Alex, I heard Aurora didn’t come to the office today. Is she alright?"

Alex took a moment before replying to Patrick’s question. He asked Alvin for the folder he needed. Once he dismissed Alvin to leave them alone, he turned to Patrick again.

"Yeah, she won’t come today. She is slightly under the weather and needs some rest," Alex said, his eyes still on the document. "Why are you looking for her?" he asked, not bothering to glance at Patrick.

"I need her to reach out to Zee urgently. I think there’s a leak in our game division. And I’m worried it came from our competitors’ espionage team."

Patrick continued to inform him that someone had leaked their upcoming game to the public, even though it was supposed to launch the beta version by the end of the year.

Alex was shocked. If Patrick’s suspicion were true, it would be the first business espionage incident since they established a game division.

"Are you saying we have a spy in our game division? How could that happen?"

"Don’t worry, Alex. My team has discreetly locked down everything related to the game division. We have ensured that no one can download and play the game because Zee has implemented a security measure to prevent that. Still, it does feel a bit strange. How could someone have seen our beta tester? They’ve even started discussing it on a few social media platforms..."

Patrick continued to express his concerns that someone might be a spy, steal the game idea, and sell it to a competitor. He also worried that someone might breach their system and steal it.

Alex leaned back in his chair and pondered, trying to think more calmly about the situation. He had wanted to set this aside earlier, but hearing Patrick’s worries made him slightly concerned.

"So you want me to ask Aurora to contact Zee?"

Alex asked as he stood up and hand-signaled Patrick to join him in the seating area.

Patrick settled into a single sofa while looking at Alex. He couldn’t hide his annoyance toward Zee.

"Yes! I’m really annoyed with Zee. Whenever I contact her, she never replies to my message—even when it’s a serious situation like now!"

Alex, "..."

’What the hell? Did Patrick just complain about my wife’s performance as a hacker?’ He was rendered speechless. He wanted to scold him, but Zee’s true identity was top secret.

Alex knew that if he defended Zee, he might make others suspect that he knew Zee’s true identity. He already promised Aurora that he would keep that secret.

He also agrees because once Zee’s enemy discovers her true identity, her everyday life might be in jeopardy.

"That woman displays a lack of professionalism. Despite earning a substantial salary, her performance doesn’t reflect her compensation. It’s frustrating! If I had her skills, I would not hire her as our consultant..."

Patrick took a moment to breathe deeply, attempting to soothe his irritation.

"Alex, could you please ask Aurora to contact Zee? I sent Zee a few texts, yet she hasn’t opened them. This Zee is really stressing me out!" He snapped, shaking his head in annoyance.

Alex felt like giving Patrick a playful smack on the head when he heard him scold his wife.

But, of course, that’s a big no-no!

If he did that, Patrick would be suspicious about why he was mad because of Zee?

He could only internally curse Patrick.

"I will speak to Rory. Is there anything else you wish to add?" Alex asked.

He can’t allow Patrick to continue venting his frustration toward Zee, or he might lose control and hit him. He wanted Patrick to leave his office immediately.

"Nah. I just wanted to say that, man." Patrick smiled warmly, standing up from his seat. "Alright, I won’t take up any more of your precious time, boss... just contact me if you hear from Aurora," he said with a friendly wave as he left the office.

Alex chuckled after Patrick closed his office door. He didn’t know whether to feel angry or laugh at the situation.

He wanted to scold Patrick and reveal Zee’s true identity. But he had already promised to keep the secret.

Sigh!

Alex stood up from his seat and walked over to his desk. Rather than sitting down immediately and continuing to work, he paused by the glass wall and called Aurora.

The phone rang until the last ring without being answered. This made him worry.

Hurriedly, he checked his cell phone screen in confusion. But when he saw the time, he chuckled.

Alex decided to send her a few texts to explain Patrick’s situation.

"Rory, are you napping? Patrick just visited me and said he needed Zee urgently. There was a critical issue in the game division. If you have a moment, please check Patrick’s message."

"I just want to reassure you. Don’t worry about the issue. If the game leak is beyond our control, that’s okay. I’ll handle everything. Love you!"

After sending two text messages, Alex returns to his seat and continues his work.
